Dear Friends,

I would be grateful if someone who uses Mobile Speak contacts me off

list for the same? What is the way to join it?

Thank you for help.

I have heard that Talks is licensed on the IMEI code of the handset while
mobile speak is on the phone number. That means, if the handset is lost, you
have to pay for talks again to use it. However, you can change your number
at will. If you use mobile speak, you are use it on any handset, provided
you use the same phone number.

no.

the license of nuance talks is also avillable on

two bases, i.e, EMI based, and simcard based.

with EMI based license, you can not change your handset to use nuance talks,
whereas with Simcardbased license, you can easily use talks on an another
handset.

however, simbased license costs more than that of EMI based.

Re: [AI] Mobile speak

2011-02-25 Thread Amar Jain

Ok guies so there are two things to be answered:
1. Licencing,
2. Performance.
1. Licencing: As far as India is concerned, Amiyo sir is absolutely right,
when they say that Talks give EMEI based licences. The reason is explained
by Bhavesh bro in his mail, i.e., cost.
On the other hand, Mobile Speak give licences on the user's number. If I am
not mistaken, then efforts are going on to bring number based licencing for
Talks in India too.
2. performance: It will be not right to say that Talks works better then
mobile speak, if you have used V. 4.6 of this product.
In fact, if you go to see, then it is the first software announcing support
for touch screen devices, then ovi maps.
Further, though officially symbion 3's support is not yet announced, but I
am using C7, which is based on symbion 3, and is a touch screen device,
without any difficulties except in clock, internet browsing, file manager
and sms reading. Read talks 5.2 release notification, you will get the
answer as to why implementing support for these apps has become difficult
for the developers of any product.
According to the reply submited for one ticket by codefactory support, they
are working on android accessibility with their product.
I don't think I need to say anything else in order to convey the product's
efficiency. I am not here to market Mobile Speak, nor I am here to say
anything against the efforts of Nuance, what I am trying to do is to only
remove those thoughts which we all had before the release of 4.6 of mobile
speak. Better you give it a try, and contact me for any problems with mobile
speak. I am using 4.6 licence.

Please let me know, guys. Thanks a lot and have a fun week ahead.

[AI] mobile speak V 5.5

2011-07-03 Thread gopal saini

Caroline Ragot - Marketing
market...@codefactory.es
Mobile Speak 5.5
Mobile Speak 5.5 for Symbian is now available!
Support for Symbian Anna, Nokia E6 & X7, Graphics labeler, Nokia Search app,
Nokia Help menus, New Acapela voices, and more.
Terrassa (Barcelona), Spain, July 1st, 2011
Code Factory is proud to announce a new version of Mobile Speak for Symbian,
v5.5. Only three and a half months after the release of V5.0 at the San Diego
CSUN conference, the developers of the Spanish company are showing us that they
are still strongly committed to Symbian.

"At Code Factory our two current priorities are Symbian and Android. In less
than 4 years Android has reached a 35% smartphone market share and Symbian has
lost its leadership position. However Symbian remains the most advanced
platform for screen reading technology and this is why we keep investing
development resources in Nokia smartphones," explained Eduard Sánchez, Code
Factory's CEO. "Symbian Anna, the latest flavor of the Nokia OS is faster,
simpler and better. The Nokia E6 is a fantastic phone. It has enough keys to do
everything without having to use the touchscreen and Mobile Speak 5.5 works
just great on it," added Eduard.

Support for upcoming Symbian Anna firmware upgrade and latest Nokia smartphones
a.. Symbian^3 Anna is the latest operating system available on all Symbian^3
phones. It comes built-in with the Nokia E6 and X7, while it is available as a
recommended software upgrade for other Symbian^3 devices (N8, E7, C7 and
C6-01). For users of Mobile Speak, Symbian^3 Anna provides an improved user
experience when navigating around lists and menus in Keypad or Joystick modes,
since it will in general maintain focus on one of the list items when opening a
new list. All apps and features supported in previous versions of Symbian^3 are
also supported in Symbian^3 Anna, including the new web browser and email
client.
b.. Added support for recently released Nokia E6 and X7 devices. The E6 is
certain to be a popular choice for blind and visually impaired users who prefer
the traditional QWERTY keyboard interface. It is physically very similar to
other candybar-shaped QWERTY phones like the E71, E72 or E5. All standard keys
are present except for the soft keys. However, Mobile Speak reorganizes the use
of the keys while it is loaded: the Calendar Key (to the left of the joystick
and below the Menu key) has been modified to act as the left soft key, and the
Contacts key (to the right of the joystick and below the Email key) to be the
right soft key. This means that it is not necessary to use the touch screen at
all to have full access to the E6 (except for a couple of gestures in apps like
the web browser, to bring up the web options grid). The default Command key is
the Email key on the E6 and the Camera key on the X7.

Graphics Labeler
a.. Mobile Speak v5.5 introduces a graphics labeler. This powerful tool
allows many images, graphics and icons to be labeled so that a specific text
phrase can be spoken whenever the graphic is encountered on the screen.
b.. By default, some graphics are already labeled when you install Mobile
Speak v5.5 (e.g. when adding an entry to the calendar on some devices such as
the C5 or any Symbian^3 phones, there are icons next to each field to indicate
their meaning). However in most other places, you will need to add your own
labels. This can be done in a very straightforward manner using the Review
Cursor (Command + 3).
c.. Graphics labels are stored in an XML file and can be easily shared
between devices.
Support for new apps and new voices
a.. New Acapela HQ voices: US English Tracy, French Antoine, Spanish Ines,
Danish Rasmus, Indian English Deepa, Finland Swedish Samuel and Italian
Fabiana. In addition, all Acapela HQ voices, as well as Czech Sabrine, French
Caroline and Spanish Javier, have been updated.
b.. Support for the phone's online Help (User Guide) in most phones where it
previously was not accessible (i.e. Symbian 9.3 and all Touch phones). These
pages are found as an option by pressing the left soft key in most system
applications. As soon as these help pages are opened on these devices, their
full contents will start to be read, without the need to press any shortcuts.
They can then be read in a very convenient way, using the same shortcuts
available when reading emails in the new Nokia email client (e.g. 2 to jump to
top, 8 to jump to bottom), or read by word/sentence/paragraph etc by using
Mobile Speak shortcuts in the reading layout.
c.. Support for the phone's Search application (available on most devices
from Symbian 9.2 and above). This powerful application allows you to rapidly
search for specific content on your device. You can enter a search string and
all results will be shown and updated as you type. Search categories include:
Music, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, E-mail, Bookmarks, Images, Videos,
Applications, Note

Hi all,

This is especially for those using Mobile Speak with the E52. A friend's bro is
using it and seems to have some problem. While announcing the battery and
network status, does Mobile Speak say if there are new messages or missed
calls? Also, does it read the help topics?

Please let me know, guys. Thanks a lot and have a fun week ahead.

Cheers!

[AI] Mobile Speak 4.0 - Permanent License for Life

2010-02-04 Thread Ram Agarwal
Dear Friends,

Code Factory, Spain, makers of the famous "Mobile Speak" Screen Reading
Software for mobile phones now brings to you a permanent license for life!

Mobile Speak 4

Mobile Speak 4 is Cross-Platform, Touch Compatible, Multi-Voice, and Ready for
the Next Generation!

New Features Added:

Cross Platform:

You can switch phones as many times as you want, and for free. You can switch
from Symbian to Windows Mobile and vice versa. Therefore as long as you do not
change phone numbers you can transfer your Mobile Speak or Mobile Magnifier
license between devices, free, as many times as you wish.

New Licensing System:

The new licensing system is based on user ID and is, therefore, no longer tied
to a specific device and your phone number is your user ID.

Automatic Deactivation:

No need to deactivate your license from the old device before activating it on
a new device.

No More Paperwork:

If your phone is stolen, broken or lost, as long as you don't change phone
numbers, you don't have to send us any kind of certificate, just install the
software on your new device and activate it with your User ID.

Feel Free To Change SIM Cards:

If you are a GSM user, there will not be any additional cost to change your SIM
card as long as your phone number remains the same. This means is that even if
you change your GSM service provider, as long as your phone number remains the
same, there is no additional cost. This facility of changing GSM providers but
retaining your phone number is expected to start in India shortly.

This also means that if your phone is lost and you need to get a new SIM for
your Phone number from your service provider, you can use the new SIM having
your existing phone number in your new phone.

Touch Compatible:

With Mobile Speak 4, you have not one, not two but three different ways to
interact with your touch screen mobile phone. You can either use the classic
keyboard commands, a brand new system of easy touch screen commands, or simply
move your finger around the screen and let Mobile Speak tell you what is below
your fingertips. The choice is up to you, it will depend on your mobile device,
your preferences, or even specific situations.

Compatible with phones such as the Nokia N97, Nokia 5800, Nokia 5230 and Nokia
5530.

Ready for the Next Generation:

With Mobile Speak 4, you don't have to worry about being left behind with old
technology. Mobile Speak supports the latest mobile phones such as the Nokia
N97 and HTC Touch Pro 2, as well as the latest versions of Windows Mobile, V6.5
and of Symbian, S60 5th Edition.

[AI] Mobile Speak 5.0 for Symbian is now available!

2011-03-19 Thread bhavesh
*Mobile Speak 5.0 for Symbian is now available! *

* *

*Support for Symbian^3, Support for Nokia Email, New Review Cursor feature*

*Terrassa (Barcelona), Spain, March 17th, 2011*

Mobile Speak 5.0, a free update for all users of Mobile Speak 4.0, is now

available for download!

*Support for Symbian^3*

Symbian^3 is simpler, faster and better. While this latest version of

Symbian will remain familiar to existing Symbian users worldwide, it

includes more than 250 new features and improvements, such as a simplified

user interface, enhanced multimedia features, and more customization

abilities. Mobile Speak supports all the Symbian^3 devices currently

available: *Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01*. The Nokia E7 is

the only one with a slide-out four row QWERTY keyboard. It is a device

designed primarily with the business user in mind. They all have an AMOLED

capacitive touchscreen, 3.2 inches for the C6-01, 3.5 inches for the C7 and

the N8, and 4 inches for the E7. The C6-01 is a compact touchscreen and the

most budget-friendly. The C7 is very slim and has a sleek design. The N8 is

the first Nokia Symbian^3. It features a 12 Megapixel camera and a full

metal chassis with anodised scratch-proof paint to give the phone a really

high-end feel.

As the Nokia N8 and Nokia E7 do not have physical dial and hang up keys,

Mobile Speak features two new gestures: slide down and left (in the shape of

the letter "L" reversed) and slide down and right (letter "L"), which can be

used as the Dial and Hang Up key respectively.

*Nokia Email*

As per the request of many users, Code Factory has added support for the new

Nokia email application on many 3rd FP2 devices (e.g. N86, E52, E72, E5, C5)

as well as touch devices (e.g. N97 mini, N8, E7). On touch devices, support

is included also when reading emails in html format. The full email will be

read by default, so it is not necessary to move down one line at a time to

listen to the full email. Command shortcuts in reading layout (e.g. read by

words, by sentences, by paragraphs, etc) are available when reading email.

In addition, pressing joystick up / joystick down will speak the previous /

next paragraph.

*Review Cursor*

Mobile Speak also features a new review cursor mode (Command + 3 to toggle).

This is available on both touch screen and standard keyboard devices. Once

the review cursor has been activated, you can navigate around the screen

virtually using the joystick. Joystick up/down moves to the previous/next

element, joystick left/right moves character by character in the element,

while joystick enter will open the currently selected virtual element (where

possible).

*More*

· Touch: Long press of # key in editors now switches between

number/text writing mode.

· Touch: Added support for Video and Photo browser lists.

· Braille: Improved Braille Cursor mode.

· Apps: Support for the latest version of TweetS60.

· A large number of other improvements and bug fixes, as detailed in

our User Manual here

If you are a new user, download Mobile Speak 5 now at *

[AI] Mobile Speak and Magnifier for Pocket PCs v2.0 released!

2008-01-21 Thread Gopalakrishnan
Hello All,

In the design of Code Factory's access technology products, we endeavor to
meet the most pressing demands of the blind and visually impaired users of
mainstream mobile phones and PDAs, namely:
. They need to easily upgrade to a newer device model, or switch to
a backup phone/PDA if their primary device is damaged or lost.
. They want to use an access solution that will work on the latest
device models as they become available in the market, as well as the latest
version of the software used on these new devices.
. They need access to mainstream technology but where the access
solution also has features that meet the specific needs of the blind and
visually impaired.

In response to these concerns of its customers, Code Factory releases
Version 2.0 of Mobile Speak and Mobile Magnifier for Pocket PCs, which
continue to be the leading screen access solutions for Windows Mobile
Professional and Classic editions.

Note that Mobile Speak and Mobile Magnifier Pocket v2.0 is made available as
a public beta for everyone to use on a free 30-day trial license, regardless
if the user already owns a full license. This means that new and existing
users alike can install Version 2.0, and use a trial license to check out
all the new features and available TTS voices for 30 days without any extra
costs. Those who already have a full license can also migrate their serial
number and license code pair to the User-Centered Licensing system on their
own and for free, and fully activate the products registered to them to
enjoy the increased functionality that Version 2.0 provides.

Some of the 55 new and exciting features include:
1. User-Centered Licensing system (
www.codefactory.es/UCL
) which
allows free and unlimited transfer of licenses between devices, activation
of devices anytime and anywhere using an internet connection or SMS, use
of a backup phone, and much more.
2. Support for the latest Pocket PC phones including the AT&T Tilt /
HTC TyTN II (Kaiser / P4550), the T-Mobile MDA Touch / HTC Touch (Elf /
P3450), the
O2 Xda Star / HTC Touch Dual (Nike / P5500), the Verizon Wireless XV6800
(Sprint PPC-6800 Mogul / Telus P4000 / Bell HTC 6800), and the O2 Xda Atom
Life.
You can check out the complete MSP and MMP Device Compatibility List that
already has more than one hundred supported Pocket PCs at

http://www.codefactory.es/en/phones.asp?id=100
3. Built-in application for reading Braille formatted (BRF) files
with speech, Braille or both, as well as a Bookshare.org unpacking utility.
4. Unique memory and processor optimizations that resulted in
greater stability, responsiveness and battery life.
5. A new and vastly configurable installation process that allows
you to choose which components (speech, magnification or Braille) to
install.
6. Although older versions of MSP already worked well with the
Windows Mobile editions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, MSP v2.0 now includes
official support for Office Mobile 6.1, including OneNote Mobile that can be
installed if the user has OneNote 2007 on his PC.
7. Improved support for built-in applications such as Internet
Explorer Mobile to better handle different web elements, the Calendar to
provide more information in the Agenda View, Excel Mobile to read cell
entries even if they do not fit the visual screen, and many more.
8. An option to disable the touch screen while on a call to avoid
accidental screen taps.
9. Enhanced support for today's latest Braille device, the Optelec
ALVA Braille Controller 640, including an input panel and a split output
feature that
allows you to use this Braille terminal with a desktop/laptop and your
Pocket PC phone/PDA at the same time.
10. Options to automatically reconnect with a Braille device after a
Pocket PC boots up, and to automatically turn off Bluetooth when this
connection is terminated.

WE warmly welcome your feedback about this public beta, so please send us
your comments, suggestions, requests and questions to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
. Thank you.

[AI] mobile speak smart phone, its cost and the right models

2006-10-09 Thread Aruni Sharma
Hi listers, as many of you may have read that the smart phone version of
mobile speak is out for windows mobile 5.0 OS. I would like to know how
much it is going to cost us and whether we shall avail same cost
benifits as for the simbian version? Which phone models would be worth
considering for purchase? And also the same old question: what advantage
are the smart phones going to offer over the simbian phones?

Would be interested to hear from others. While I an all for making the list
aware of updates and upgrades, I do not like to see my mailbox being bombarded

Vetri.
