Re: [AI] Mumbai: State to appoint administrator for 'mismanaged' blind school in Jogeshwari
Dear all, As I'm up-to-date on the situation at The National Association for the Blind, Karnataka Branch, I would just want to clarify something on this thread. As we speak, there are no plans for Government of Karnataka to appoint an administrator for The NAB Karnataka. In fact, Honorable High Court and The Government of Karnataka are indeed supportive for operations of The NAB Karnataka. Yes, There are some issues going on at The NAB Karnataka but I would not like to discuss anything here. But certainly there would be some information made available on our public domain soon. Meanwhile, if anyone is keen to know or have any questions, please write to me privately and I would respond as best as I can. I reiterate I would like to continue this thread for this purpose. I'm BCCing some of the NAB Karnataka's Governing council so that they are aware of my comments on this forum. Social justice minister Rajkumar Badole visited the home on Friday and on finding it to be in a bad condition, ordered an inquiry. The trust has stopped providing food to the 40 students and even their training for a month. We are not getting food from the hostel. Sometimes, MNS workers or social workers provide us food. We hope Badole will do something for us, said Santosh Kadam, a student. Badole said that his deparment will provide food to the students. On Friday, MNS workers, led by party chief Raj Thackeray's wife Shalini, agitated outside the hostel. The students are facing the brunt of the internal fight between the two groups of trustees. The state should intervene and sort out the issue, Shalini Thackeray told TOI.
