Hi Pallavi,
I think your logic is wrong. you asked
"what is the use and meaning of all the educational qualifications earned by

us? Is there no value for our hard work and education, that were earned by
spending years together???"

you have to ask,
if they are going to readily decide that VI teachers cannot handle the
class, what is the sense in taking your interview and demo class?
are they perfectly managing their classes? ask them to sit in my class as
students. I am working as teacher in the nearby city of Tumkur from past 3
and odd years. or else, some of VI teachers are successfully working in
Bangalore from past several years. ask them to become their students. I tell

"as students" because, they aught to learn many things in controlling the
class etc. in the field of education as well as society.
don't get disturbed or distressed due to their attitudes. we have to face
lot many such obstacles in the journey of life. certainly your education and

knowledge will come to your rescue. wishing you all the best.

2013-10-15 Thread Umesha Economics

Hi Vivekananda,
what I think out of my short period of experience is that situation might
have changed substantially from past 14 years when you left the state. I
don't commit the mistake of saying that the situation is entirely good. I
also faced problems like those of Pallavi in the year of 2008. but what I
meant to say is that Karnataka is not relatively bad in terms of attitude
towards visually challenged. it is as bad as other states of the country and
not worse than others.

Yes Manjunath I agree with you, only in recent few years back Visually

Due to NFB and other few such NGO's regular legal intervention with the

Hi,

This is a problem which every visually impaired person has been forced
to confront at least once in his or her life..
There are a few ways of tackling this:
Firstly, we should be able to portray our blindness in a positive manner..
The battle to compete in a world which has essentially been designed
to cater to the needs of the sighted greatly enhances our
problem-solving skills.. Employers are always looking for employees
who have good problem-solving skills and the ability to think out of
the box, so we should try to use this advantage to the best of our
ability..
Secondly, we should be prepared to give convincing answers in order to
address their key concerns. I don't think we should blame an employer
for having some valid and justified concerns. This can be done by
giving examples of other successful visually impaired people in that
field, enumerating our previous accomplishments and sharing
constructive methods of confronting various impediments that might
arise in future.
All the aforementioned actions reflect one's sincerity, genuine
interest in getting the job and determination which are all highly
sought-after qualities.

Hi Pallavi,
I think your logic is wrong.

Dear Pallavi,
Is it a government college?
Have you applied for the permenant government job?

If it was a private college, It is best to approach the Private run
colleges with some references and inform them beforehand that you’re a
visually-impaired candidate.
References work well when it comes to job in private sector.

Re: [AI] REFUSAL OF MY RESUME, AS I AM A VISUALLY CHALLENGED PERSON

2013-09-17 Thread babita babita
Such a social attitude towards visually challenged is really bad!! If
the lecture of any visually challenged is interesting and helpfull,
why the students will do any mischief inside the class?
If the lecture of any person with perfect organs is not interesting,
the students will try to bunk the class. is that not mischievous
nature of students???
The person can draw the interest and attention of people by their
perfect works, but not by perfect organs. Am I right?

[AI] REFUSAL OF MY RESUME, AS I AM A VISUALLY CHALLENGED PERSON

2013-09-17 Thread Pallavi SJ
Hello friends, i would like to share one of my worst experiences, that
i am consistently facing these days. As i have completed my education
with two master degrees, now i am engaged with free lancing
journalist. But, i have a strong aspiration to establish myself with
full time job. Consequently, i posted my resume in many colleges, that
fits my qualification. this is one of my experience at a prestigeous
college in Silicon city Bangalore, Karnataka.
The college invited me by getting impressed of my resume and my
qualifications and also took my interview. they also made me to give
my demo class. but, the opinions i got after the class was really
disgusting. all the faculty people and the principle, who appreciated
my language, speaking style, lecturing method, everything... just
rejected me by telling that, they can't take me, as i am a visually
handicapped and also told that, a visually handicapped person cannot
handle the class by controlling the students, who are mischieveous...
if so, then what is the use and meaning of all the educational
qualifications earned by us? Is there no value for our hard work and
education, that were earned by spending years together???

This institution is not well-equipped and or fortunate enough to hire
you like a person with a superior mental and moral calibre. Thank you.

Hi,

You need not to worry about all these worst experiences. Defintly there is
value for our hard work and education. It is common for all of us in the
initial stage. All of us faced this problem one way or other in order to
reach this height.
