Hi!

First of all, in broad terms linux is the category of operating system
something like notebook is a category for portable computers, and
vinux is one such distribution which is based on it, as like HP, Dell
etc offers notebooks all of different types and shapes. There are
other such distributions as well such as Ubuntu, Fedaro etc.
To try Vinux, just follow Amar's email.

Yes and to add to Amar the great's email,
Download the 32 bit version of vinux as 64 bit version has some
problems while booting from the live CD.
You will find something as download x86 version and don't go for x64 version

Re: [AI] Vinux.

2010-06-26 Thread Amar Jain

Dear Sir,
Before I specifically talk on the subject, I would like to put two points.
1. While composing the email, no need of writing 'AI' into brackets because
as soon as you send the email and whenever it is sent it automatically puts
'AI' in brackets. Told you for reducing your load.
2. Please put a decent subject for every message. Like in this mail, subject
could be 'vinux', or 'vinux users please respond'.
The lines like hi how are you etc are never ment for subject lines. These
lines are always written in the message body. Subject conveys as to what is
this specific mail all about. If you put a subject line which is relevant,
then others will appreciate you.
Now coming to vinux, before installing it on to your PC actually I would
recommend you to please try it out from live cd.

visit:
www.vinux.org.uk
Download the cd image and then burn it on to the cd.
Then boot from the cd. After one or two minutes, you are good to go with
automatically enabled orka.

Regards
Amar Jain.

Re: [AI] vinux required

2009-11-19 Thread Ravi Paul
The USB version of Vinux is for some reason or the other unavailable
in the official website at the moment. I am nun the less pasting the
link to the download page below:
http://vinux.org.uk/downloads/
in fact, if you go to the home page of the website (
http://vinux.org.uk/ ),
There are links to download Vinux, one of which is the USB version.
By the way, I also found this link:
http://linux.softpedia.com/progDownload/Vinux-Download-43337.html
I used JAWS and found this in the second table (if you are doing the
same, press t twice to find the table) where you will find the
relevant links...
Hope this helps,
Regards, Ravi Paul
