The efforts being made by NIVH are indeed good but it would be more
productive and far better if they simultaneously endeavor to make the
authorities understand in All India Radio and other private FM channels. So
there can be some possibilities of getting career related opportunities in
this field for visually impaired people.
There are already a few visually impaired currently associated with the
Radio but private channels are not ready to accept them on a regular basis.
I have also done sports reporting and covered some grounds for A.I.R. but
being associated with radio for interim is different thing and finding the
opportunity for career augmentation in this field is different. No doubt, an
interested visually impaired person can be a very good RJ but for that it
should better come under the
observation of those people who can provide this job to visually challenged.
Hope this thought would also be there in the mind of people of NIVH and
other institutes who are working in this direction.
