Hi all. Well, relatively speaking, Google Drive is accessible!!!. Its much better than say the situation when Chrom was launched, or for that matter google docs. If you install the drive on your PC and then navigate it using Windows Explorer, there is not much of a complication. However, the web interface isn't the greatest, but at least the cursor would move with the arow keys, and eventually you could kind of find your way. But I haven't quite figured out as to how to share files, although on my windows 7 machine, in the explorer interface, there is a sub-menu that gives various options for the same. But again, the same option is missing on my Vista laptop. All in all, not the perfect product from Google, but way better than what their history suggests. Think Ms. verghese is talking about google.com, the searcher, but if you dig deep, all that nice and easy interface is a goner!. I agree with you Mr. Balaraman, being a fan or not has nothing to do with us on this list. Ms. Lissy Verghese, I am not sure from where your feedback is coming. Here is a task for you on gmail, let me know if you are able to accomplish it without sighted assistance. Export all your gmail contacts into a csv file in HTML view of gmail. If you are able to accomplish this please enlighten me on the same. Another task you can try, in your inbox or spam folder try selecting all the mails and try to delete them in one go. The number of unlabelled buttons on youtube another google product is a fine example on how accessible google products are. Try the player controls on any video, exclude the play/pause/mute/unmute buttons and try rewinding or forwarding the playing video. In google docs try making sense on what are the files you have uploaded and on how you can forward them or download them. The answer to how accessible Google is will prove itself with trying the above mentioned tasks. Forgiveness if this email was rude in any manner. Re: [AI] google drive accessibility
What are you saying? GoogleDrive is accessible? I found, only the installation process is accessible. It took me more than half an hour to generate a share/download link of my upload stuff. After getting the link when I tried to download from that link, I found more complications. On 5/1/12, Lissy Verghese wrote: > Google inaccessible? Unbelievable! Google inaccessible? Unbelievable! I am happy to be considered to be the fan of Google. It has helped me that much. I use Google for so long and I do not find it inaccessible at any point. If you take my opinion, they can take all their products to the garage when it comes to accessibility. Google has become a big fat company as of date, so blood supply to the brain is restricted. -Original Message- From: accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of Bharat Sent: Tuesday, May 01, 2012 10:53 AM To: Accessindia Subject: [AI] google drive accessibility hi all, any ideas google drive accessibility? is it of any use to the blind or has google launched another useless product for the blind? keeping their past record on accessibility, being the most insensitive of all the techs around, I would be hardly be surprised if another useless lot comes to the market.
