Dear friends,

I see no harm in putting it online on some website but as per my
conversation professor hema felt that putting it online may bring in some
sort of changes in the quality of the product which no one of us would like
to see. so if you want to use it just mail her for a copy. she is open to
giving it to more and more persons so that the development team have more
data on its usages which will enhance its quality.

more users we have, more bugs will be explored. So, we will pave the way for

2011-09-23 Thread Adhimoolam Vetrivel Murugan
I agree. But I guess that the program policy varries from vender to
vender. For example, Freedomscientific does not have problem in making
it's programs available online, while other programs like K1000 are
not made available on the net. The reason is understandable when one
sells lisenced program, but I don't see the logic behind a freeware
which has to be distributed only on the CD.

2011-09-26 Thread Asudani, Rajesh
Please tell me frankly, did 2005 software accomplish anything?
Is this software worth the trouble?
I don't want to demean any efforts, just asking practical utility of TTS and
OCR.
OCR, they say would only work by recognizing image at a time and sending the
results online and so on.

It is not the lack of feedback which prevent them from improving the
products.

It is the lack of attitude to do so.
For me, their attitude seems they will give whatever they wish and you
will have to take it without any complaint.

I had met Hema murthy in person and had a few hints about this.
At the least, Chennai IIT has employed a VI to test the quality of the
Tamil TTS.

This was the case with the maratti and Bangla TTS.
Persons are there to test these ones.
Though a bit late, I too was involved with the Malayalam TTS with CDAC
Thiruvananthapuram.

The feedbacks were not received with satisfaction.
Can't do much about it was their reply most of the times.
Please don't be too optimistic about the efficiency of the TTS.

more users we have, more bugs will be explored. So, we will pave the way for
an outstanding product in future. The only down side is that she will be the

2011-09-30 Thread Srinivasu Chakravarthula
Hello All,
I was told that DIT asked IIT Chennai to bundle TTS with NVDA and distribute
and hence the TTS is so huge in size. However, she mentioned to me that they
will also upload the TTS alone in some time.

Please note that, as of right now, this TTS is not SAPI Compliant and that's
their second phase, which is about to start.

So more good news to come.
