Re: [AI] windows 10 laptop

2020-04-29 Thread Ajay Minocha
Hi,

SSD is definitely fast because of its different composition style HD
can't match its performance. My personal view, I3 is enough for basic
use along with 4GB RAM. Sadly, find reader doesn't get classified as
basic specially when I convert a 500 page long book :) It is a
considerably heavy program. So if you want to convert longer books
then I5 + 8GB is desirable.

I bought an HP last year with SSD + HD option so I have the best of
both worlds, it costed me around 72,000.

You anyways don't get 32 bit machine these days so 64 is better.
Further, 32 bit can't utilize more than 4gb RAM regardless of how much
RAM you install.

One more tip, Try put original softwares, it surely helps.

Cheers,
Ajay

Hello,

What about the companies? My Dell Vostro 1027 laptop is running for ten
years. Of course, I had to change the hard drive once. It fell twice from
the table and the hinges were broken and the monitor got disconnected. I
was able to get it repaired by a local fellow. It have 500 gb hdd, 2 gb
ram and windows 7 32 bit. O yes, the cd rom is gone and two keys from the
keyboard. Still the laptop is working all right. I changed battery twice.

On the other hand, I am tired of my lenovo laptop with 4 gb ram and 1 tb
hdd and windows 10 64 bit. The keys get stuck frequently and the system is
rather slow. I am using it for just more than two years. I use jaws, Sound
forge, gold wave etc on both.

Dell is costlier than others. Still I would prefer Dell. Please mention

you can choose 32 bit, but later most of the softwares and hardwares will
end support for 32 bit systems. continue with 64 bit. now most of laptops
are coming with preinstalled OEM windows with DDE partition. I think that
will find difficult 32 bit hardware now these days.

2020-04-28 Thread Amiyo Biswas

Hello,

What about the companies? My Dell Vostro 1027 laptop is running for ten
years. Of course, I had to change the hard drive once. It fell twice from
the table and the hinges were broken and the monitor got disconnected. I was
able to get it repaired by a local fellow. It have 500 gb hdd, 2 gb ram and
windows 7 32 bit. O yes, the cd rom is gone and two keys from the keyboard.
Still the laptop is working all right. I changed battery twice.

On the other hand, I am tired of my lenovo laptop with 4 gb ram and 1 tb hdd
and windows 10 64 bit. The keys get stuck frequently and the system is
rather slow. I am using it for just more than two years. I use jaws, Sound
forge, gold wave etc on both.

Dell is costlier than others. Still I would prefer Dell. Please mention the
companies or models you are using.

With best regards,

difference between SSD and HDD performance and performance of fine
reader in your laptop. In my desktop when I use fine reader, it
becomes slow and its fan run very fast.

Hi Mohit,

As per your usage, the best configuration that you can get is:

1. RAM: 8 GB or above. Higher the RAM lesser will be the lag while using
multiple programs at once.
2. SSD: 500 GB or above (As much of the memory is used by the Windows also
you need more space for installing and keeping stuff on your system)
3. Processor: Core i5 is sufficient enough and the latest one is 10th
Generation.

Make sure that the computer that you'll purchase can accommodate more RAM
if required, this will keep you going for a longer time.

Hope this helps

I am using windows 10 with 1000gb hhd and 4gb ram with i3 4core processor
and working fine. no need to pay 1 extra if you don't use graphics,
designing or gaming programmes. You can use your pen drive for additional
ram if needed.

As per my own experience, ABBYY fine reader, kurzweil and other
accessibility softwares are memory intensive programmes. If we have
good processor and ssd harddisk, we dont face the issue of slow
processing hanging the machine. I am using i7 processor since last
3years and never faced any issue of hanging and freezing the system. I
am using lenovo thinkpad x270 with 256 ssd, i7 processor, 8gb ram and
win 10 64bit. Its an expensive machine though, around 1.25l.

Re: [AI] windows 10 laptop

2020-04-27 Thread Dinesh thole
Hi Mohit,

I3 will be more than enough for your usage.
Yes you will be able to use all applications like jaws, Kurzweil on windows
10 64 bit.
I would suggest you to go for a laptop with I3 along with 8 GB ram.

Thanks for valuable suggestions.
I will use it for academic purpose like FS reader, EText reading, ABBYY fine
reader, kurz wel, internet, audio video playing etc. So which will be
sufficient I3 or 5 or 7.
In 64 Bit, whether I will get jaws, fine reader and other assistive tools
easily?

Hi Mohit,

The type of configuration which you would want to buy depends on your
purpose/usage for which you require the laptop and also on your budget.
Fiew months back, I have purchased: HP Laptop 14q-cs0xxx which has 256 GB
SSD and 8 GB ram and comes with windows 10 home and intel core I3 7 gen
processor.
I purchased this for around 32000 from amazon.
This is a Lightweight laptop.

Re: [AI] windows 10 laptop

2020-04-26 Thread Maruti Paramwad
Hello,
i would suggest go with HP or Lenovo. if you are a not heavy user,
then, no need to go with I7. if you want to use just for note taking
and browsing then I5 10 gen or I3 10 gen is better. I7 is very costly.
according to me, 8gig RAM and 256 GB SSD is the best option for basic
users. windows 10 64 bit is the only option write now available. you
can install 32 bit also. but, 32 bit is not recommended. mostly
laptops come with inbuild windows 10 home addition.

Thanks,
Maruti

Buy 64 bit only, days are gone by for 32 bit. No specific brand
recommendation, choos best configuration for best accessibility
configuration. Much depends on your budget, I would suggest, minimum
I7 processor, 256 minimum ssd harddisk, clock speed over 1.6, good
battery life, DDR8 gb ram, relatively portable machine, and of course
latest operating system! Some of the Dell Latitude, Lenovo Thinkpad X
and T searies, Asus Zenbook models may meet your requirement.
