Re: [AI] VI Teachers at Primary Schools.

2011-11-20 Thread KanchanPamnani
Amiyoda Please be careful. Before going to the court just analyse the
whole situation. For a state like Gujrat which has many vi teachers to
suddenly come out with such a bad rule something must have gone terribly
wrong. Lets not shy away from the reality on the ground then only can we
fight it. I had told the Gujrat group on several occasions to send me the
papers but they call and never send the papers so I cannot say what is
going wrong there. There must be some reason for such discriminatory rules.
It is for our lawyers to know the reasons and prove that these reasons are
unjustified. It is better to find out and do a lot of research before going
to the courts. Karnataka too is against VI teaching in primary schools.

We are also planning to lanuch a PIL. Before that we have to do a lot of

 Dear Amiyo,

Here in Gujarat, the situation is grim as well. In April 2010, the state
government issued a circular ordering a ban on the recruitment of blind
teachers in the primary schools. The case is in the High Court and the
 verdict is awaited.

The blind candidates eligible for the appointments protested by observing
fast for five days, but it failed to attract the attention of the state
government. Let's hope for the best to come out from the verdict of the
 court in coming days.

 Hello,

About two years back about 50,000 primary teachers were recruited in West

Bengal. there was no post reserved for VI candidates in the initial
advertisement. After protest reservation was granted. But in most cases,
candidates with 100% visual handicap were denied appointment. Either
their results were withheld or they were somehow disqualified. There are
still a number of litigations pending in the Kolkata High Court. At least

one candidate with 100% visual handicap has got his appointment by virtue

 of court order.

We are planning to launch a massive movement. What is the situation in
other states? Are there 100% VI teachers at primary schools?
