Disability is not a ground to deny the services of a credit card. I
own more than half a dozen credit cards from 4 leading banks, I put
my signature on the application form though.

Re: [AI] are we not entitled for a credit card?

2021-06-15 Thread anirudh rao
hi Austen,
believe me I was denied the debit card too.
that too for twise by different banks.
when I applied for an account in Federal bank this time for my salary
account, they did not speak about my blindness but, told something
like this:
"we will ask the manager that if we can provide the ATM cards for you".
then they provided but, denied the checkbook.
I did not worry about the checkbook as that is the traditional option
and now the things are online.
another story is that I really had to fight with a manager who is
uncivilized and was from the remotest place of somewhere from north
India.
my friend, remember that the change we usually speak is only in media
and books and not in the real, practical life here.
be ready to fight has to be our slogan all the time.

Hi
I want to share some fact about creditcard. Itโ€™s like a loan from the bank, so
normally they never tell you why they are rejecting your creditcard
application. They only say we canโ€™t give you creditcard as our policy.

If creditcard is denied to you, you just ask the official to give it in writing
with ceal and signature.

Hello All,

There are 2 important notifications which provide that blind people are
entitled to get credit cards.
1) RBI Notification 04.06.2008
2) PROCEDURAL GUIDELINES FOR BANKING FACILITIES TO VISUALLY IMPAIRED PERSONS
IBA circular dated 18.11.2008

My suggestion is that along with making an application to the office of CCPD
you could also give your complaint in writing to the branch manager and if you
do not get a satisfactory response then approach the Banking ombudsman.

Hi Austin,

Just to let you know, I too have an ICICI coral credit card, I'm
trying to get an Amazonpay ICICI card as well, but didn't really get
any success on that front, not because of my disabilities, but for
other issues.

Oh,
Just checked, The RBI Ban on Amex and HDFC on adding new credit card
customers is still there. HDFC, India's leading credit card provider,
could have been another option as they usually don't trouble in the
name of disability, but unfortunately, that option is closed for now.
Will have to try ICICI, and if one can successfully open the instant
account online, then trying for the Amazon Pay card could be a good
option.
Also, you can try applying for the Flipkart Axis Bank card. Try
applying through Flipkart rather than on the Axis website.

Re: [AI] are we not entitled for a credit card?

2021-06-15 Thread Mahesh S. Panicker
Hi Austin,
There is absolutely no way you can be denied a credit card on the
basis of you being blind.
I currently hold multiple cards from different banks. Had significant
diffculties with some of them. But is you persist and escalate the
matter to the top management, the issue should get resolved. We often
will have to fight, but things should get done eventually. My first
credit card was from ICICI. They initially refused me a card on the
basis of me not signing. But after I persisted and complained about
the issue, eventually they provided the card. I faced some issues with
Axis Bank as well, but eventually they also provided. With ICICI, you
can start an instant account through the iMobile app using Aadhar.
Afterwards, check on Amazon/amazonpay, if you are eligible for an
Amazon Pay ICICI card. If you have an existing relation with the bank,
they will generate your card within a minute, and the physical card
should reach you within a week.
The one provider with whom I faced no issue whatsoever, it was
American Express. I applied online, and the entire process was smooth
didn't create any fuss about disability or signature. They don't offer
life time free credit cards usually, and their cards have
acceptability issues in POS terminals at times. If your area is
serviceable for Amex, its worth exploring though as there are other
benefits with an Amex card. And do let me know if you are planning to
apply for any Amex cards, can help you with fee reduction and initial
welcome option.

2021-06-15 Thread shahid.seven
Hey Austin,

Primary prerequisite for getting Credit card is your Cibil score I think
minimum should be 750.

If you have a signature guide or can manage to sign I'd advise you to apply
online and never furnish anything concerning your disability.

I hold 3 to 4 credit cards and among them recently I took Citi card where I
failed to comply with video KYC because of not being able to focus the KYC
documents properly ๐Ÿ˜Š.Then an executive came to my place and took my KYC
documents.

Visit to indianmoney.com to check your Cibil score freely.

Re: [AI] are we not entitled for a credit card?

2021-06-15 Thread SC Vashishth
Dear Austin,

You need not change the bank for this reason. This is simply discrimination
on the basis of disability. Write a complaint to the ccpd by email and
things should settle in a while. No bank can deny any financial products or
services to persons with disabilities (blindness). By moving away from the
bank, you will take away the opportunity from the bank of learning a lesson
of awareness.

How to write a petition to ccpd and the format thereof can be accessed from
the website link below:

https://www.disabilityrightsindia.com/p/writing-petition.html?m=1

Hope it helps.
