hi, you need to have avast removal tool to remove the avast antivirus. find that from the below link: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility it says your windows should be safe mode and self defence module should be turned off from the avast setting interface. although when i tried with this tool, disabling the self defence module was enough.
