Processes pending
Hi list, I have some processes with cancel pending status that never go away. One of them, for instance, is a CHECKIN LIBVOL. How can I kill these processes. It´s been days since the commands were issued. Thanks Mario

How long have Checkin Libvol been active? Check the Activity Log for more information and see if you got a tape library problem maybe. If you just want to kill them all, see if you can restart the TSM Server Service. Just make sure you have no other importatant sessions or process active. The process is probably awaiting the completion of pending I/O. Look into a potential configuration or operational or hardware error with the library. Richard Sims

But both the TSM BA Java Client (/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsmj) and ISC Installation Java Console starts. It is only during the installation it fails. In my eyes it should work fine. Re: TSM 6.1 : Database replication Feature
DB2 has a HADR mechanism (High Availability Disaster Recovery) to replicate a database to another server. It is basically just log shipping from the active db to the passive db. The most strict mechanism is that a commit to an SQL statement is only given to the application when the DB2 memory cache that contains the results of the statement is flushed to disk on the standby server. The standby server cannot be accessed, it is in a rollforward status. From what I've been reading so far, the HADR mechanism will not be supported initially. It requires some changes to the primary database and IBM tells strictly that the DB2 database can (or should) be accessed in a read-only way. If we put together a wiki or forum, and pull enough info together to make something like this work, would we get a cease-n-desist letter from IBM?
