TSM Library Manager
I have setup a library manager in TSM. This server is TSM 5.5.2 I am setting up a library client and it also has TSM 5.5.2. The TSM library manager is using the drives with no problem. I have setup the paths for the library client and I'm having problems with the client. The server, when requested, will mount a tape from the client and change ownership to the client name. Within the client activity log I get: ANR0408I Session 15 started for server LIBRARYSERVER (AIX-RS/6000) (Tcp/Ip) for library sharing. ANR0409I Session 15 ended for server LIBRARYSERVER (AIX-RS/6000). ANR8779E Unable to open drive rmt2, error number=2. ANR0409I Session 3 ended for server LIBRARYSERVER (AIX-RS/6000). ANR1404W Scratch volume mount request denied - mount failed. You could also run q actlog begind=-1 search=[client_name] msg=4961 Then look more in detail into this big consumers and determine a. if it is normal that they send NNN GB per night b. check the filesystem (q filespace [client name] ; do you see filespaces that should have been excluded/ is you client perhaps backing up SAN disks while it shouldn't ? c. q occ [client] tells you where this client is storing its data (LTO, disk, LTO2 etc) Start there and based on the outcome, continue searching. Don't be surprised if you don't find any abnormalities. Maybe you need more tapes/libraries because your data has grown enormously over the year. I am working with the TSM Server 5.2.4.4 and TSM Client 5.2.4.0 on the AIX OS and trying to install/setup LAN-Free working with a 3584 library. I am reading the TSM for AIX Storage Agent User's Guide and making some progress but I need to speed up my implementation. Has someone documented the steps on setting this up? EBU with TSM 4.2
We are currently running Oracle 7(I know needs to be upgraded and were working on it). We are currently running TSM 3.7 on AIX 4.3.3 and looking at upgrading to TSM 4.2 on AIX 4.3.3.
