Here is what your errors mean:

User Response: Verify that the dscameng.txt file is in the directory pointed

Subject: DB2 configuration and backup

We are trying to setup the DB2 backups using TSM. Our TSM server is 5.1 and
we
have installed the 4.3 api client on an AIX server. I'm getting the
following
error.

[dbadm@server/home/dbadm]db2 backup db testdb online use tsm
SQL2062N An error occurred while accessing media
/home/dbadm/sqllib/adsm/libadsm.a. Reason code: 610.

I've triple checked the installation and config files and sometimes get
Reason
code 1 or Reason code 2025. But still get the same error. I've re-created
the
client nodename and password also.

Any help would be appreciated. We are awaiting a call from Tivoli support.

Thanks,

I believe that TSM client supports 64 bit on the AIX platform (TSM client

We received the same error running 4.2.1.11 server code for AIX. TSM 3rd
level support told us to go to 4.2.2 server code and it should fix these
errors. BUT you have to run an 'auditdb' to rid the database of the
orphaned entries that are generating all of errors. Of course, depending on
your database size, an auditdb could take up to several days!

Is there anyway to overwrite the header/label of a 3590 tape?

One of our ATLs had a problem with some 3590 drives and chewed up the
 header
 records.
The assumption is that the tape is good, the header records are just bad.

I would restore the volumes from the copypools, but it just so happened
 that
the two volumes that got whacked were a primary and the copy of the
 primary
 --

Anyway, I'm hoping there is a way to get TSM to overwrite the header
 records
without destroying the data. If there isn't, we are going to try using dd
 to recreate the headers.

 Anybody ever done that successfully?

un-register licenses?

2002-05-21 Thread Qualls, Ted W {PBSG}

Hello!

Does anyone know if there is a way to un-register licenses to TSM without
recycling the server and/or deleting the nodelock file (which requires
registering ALL of the licenses again...I think)? I ran into the known
apar where the 'register lic' command seemingly doesn't register licenses
(tried to verify by 'q license'). So, after running it twice, I decided to
look at the nodelock file and viola! there was 2X the number of licenses
that I wanted to register. The 'q license' output still says that the
licenses haven't been updated, and we are getting thousands of the 'out of
compliance' messages in our actlog. We are running TSM server code 4.2.2
for AIX.

Thanks in advance.

Good day all,

Somewhere I had documented an mtlib command that could be used to query
information about the drives attached to the system. With the changeover of
TSM servers it's hard to figure out what drive is what. I have identified a
few by looking in the side door of the 3494 when a tape got mounted.
Unfortunately I'll never be able to do this with the rest and have
misplaced
my mtlib commands.

Can anyone send me the command gives info about the drive itself, as in
serial number, so I can match rmt(whatever) to it. All I can find is mtlib
-l /dev/lmcp0 -qD -f/dev/rmt6, and this one doesn't do it for me. I've got
a
bad drive and need to locate it this way.

utilization. When I pulled the data, I discovered that we have been using
drives 0,1, and 3 but not using drive 2 (not a single mount in a month and a
half according to the summary table). And yes, the drive has been online to

something obvious? We have a 3494 library with 3590 drives.

Is this a UNICODE issue ?
