Upgrade from Tivoli 4.2.1

Hello,

We are currently running Tivoli version 4.1.1(64 bit) on Aix version 4.3.3
and we
are going to Tivoli 5.1.6 on AIX 5.3
be upgrading soon.  We are trying decide whether there are any pros/cons to
the order
of upgrading both Tivoli and Aix...Tivoli first?  Aix first?  At the same
time?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

upgrade tivoli from 4.2 to 5.1.5 on AIX

Hello all,


I have a several questions regarding upgrading tivoli 4.2.1 to 5.1.5 on AIX
4.3??
1) Can tivoli 5.1.5 run on AIX 4.3---I am guessing this would work but
leads to my other questions.
2) If I upgrade tivoli on current AIX 4.3.3 what happens when I want to
upgrade my AIX 4.3.3 to AIX 5.1??
3) Do I need to de-install tivoli at that point??
4) Anything I should be careful of either then tape library and drive
definitions??

A little confusing but the gist is::-- Should I upgrade AIX operating
system first??

Life is easier with the 3494 and the OS/2's library/tape managment program.

Is there a tape management system that helps manage Tivoli backups for
AIX??

Multiple database backups to copypools?

How do I complete multiple database backups each day but only copy the
most current to offsite_pool for DR??



I did receive one good response to wanted to make sure that there
were no alternate ways of accomplishing this task???
