Re: ANS5092S Server out of data storage space

Thank You everyone (especial to Richard for the reference link) for such a good
explanation and reference regarding this problem. As a result, now I am using
only 1 management class for one domain policy. For rotating which storage pool
to allocate for my daily/weekly/monthly I just need to update the copy
destination and re-activate the police set.

See http://www.mail-archive.com/adsm-l@vm.marist.edu/msg79670.html for

This gets back to Dwight's response.

Hi,

I've discovered the problem. But, I don't know yet if this is something bug or
what ? I go to Backup Archive GUI -> Edit -> Preferences -> Under General tab,
I unticked the "Backup or Restore NTFS Security Information" option. I retry
the backup and it works just fine. What I'm not sure what activity or changes
from the OS that causing this problem since previously it just runs well using
this option ticked. I'm afraid when I go on using this preferences I might not
able to restore the security information of data file that I've backup using
this option. Is there any solution for this problem ?

Where does your directory management class go?
It could be the case that the storage location used as the destination of
your directory management class is full. That would explain being able to
successfully run commands that aren't tied to the DIRMC.

"The dirmc option specifies the management class of directories you back up
and does not effect archived directories."

Hi,

Anyone has experience this kind of error ? I do backup data file and it
resulted "ANS5092S Server out of data storage space". I've checked the Read
Write volume utilization and it below 25 %. But weirdly, I can do backup
system state and archive using the correct volume. I did check the Backup
Copy destionation, it's already allocated to the right storage pool.

Martin

Hi,

I don't think so Richard. Since using the same volume I'm able to do archive
and backup system state.

You likely have a shortage of actually usable volumes. See that
message in http://people.bu.edu/rbs/ADSM.QuickFacts for our combined

Hello Martin,
It is possible you are running backups to default management class (for
example, to backuppool), which has no volumes defined. I think, you need to
check type of backup data and Include/Exclude list carefully.
