Mel, In case it needs to run an AUDIT LIBRARY, would it be with CHELKLABEL=YES or CHECKLABEL=BARCODE? Re: ANR8314E Library is Full Error
Hi, One of the problems we have had in the past with a 3584 hogging slots not known to TSM is if the VIRTUAL IO is enabled. Check this from the web based library login under LIBRARY VIRTUAL IO . The other problem you will have after that is identifying the volumes in the library not assigned to TSM. This you can get from CARTRIDGES DATA CATRIDGES. then select (unnassigned/shared) from the drop down 'select a logical library' option. that is if you have the same web based GUI we have. Out of interest what number do you get back from TSM if you run this SQL. select count(*) as Vols in Lib from libvolumes and also try q vol access=unavailable f=d If that one brings anything back then you definately need to audit your library. Re: ANR8314E Library is Full Error
That is ugly. We didn't have to do that when we expanded our 3494. Yes, we had to redefine devices/paths, but that was because of the SAN and the way it found the devices and obviously the change in device types, but not the library size/slot count. Glad to hear you resolved it. Re: Dell 130T library is full
Hi, Sounds like this library is a badged quantum ATL P1000. We have 4 of those here and have had similar problems. This library doesn't allocate a slot for cleaning tapes. The only way round this problem is to checkout all volumes the TSM Server knows about. Remove the volumes that are in the library, including the cleaning tape. Run an audit library, and then place all the volumes removed back in the library. This should fix the problem, (at least it did here). We logged a fault with Tivoli, and all they suggested was to run an audit library. Before you do the above, check your devcnfg.out file and make sure this matches what is in the library. Dell 130T library is full
We use a Dell 130T library with 2 DLT7000 drives and 30 slots. TSM only appears to see 29 of the 30 slots. When we try to checkin another tape, we get an error stating that the library is full. We can only see 29 tapes when we have autoclean disables on the library. With it enabled, we can only see 28 slots. Slot 7 is used for a cleaning tape. Has anyone else encountered this type of problem? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Re: Dell 130T library is full
Things always go better after a few beers :) (As it turns out I don't really have an answer for you) BUT.. I recall, the IBM 3494 has reserved slots for lost misplaced tapes - the homeless... This slot needs to be kept spare. Plus one for cleaning tapes, Customer Engineer Tapes etc .. It never worried me much as the 3494 we had, had 2700 + slots... but on a smaller Library I can see your getting anxious. Could the above apply to the DELL maybe? Library is FULL?
Hello all fellow TSM'rs I'm trying as I may to change a vol in a tape library. I succesfully CHECKOUT a empty scratch volume and then try to CHECKIN a previous vol for a restore I'm trying to do. When I check tha ACTLOG it tells me the library is full. I've tried running an AUDIT and it shows only 9 or a possible 10 volumes. I can't seems to get past this. What am I doing wrong? I even tried another CHECKOUT using the SWAP option and again it successfully removes a volume but still thinks the library is full TIA Patrick
Re: Library is FULL?
Have you tried looking at the devconfig.out file to see if it shows the tapes being removed. I have had a problem where it had empty slots but it would not take a tape. Some of the tapes ended up showing in two different slots. Once I made all the changes things worked like it should have. -Original Message- From: Patrick Sheehan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, July 20, 2001 1:22 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Library is FULL? Are you using the search parameter? Try checking the new volume in with the volser instead of using the search parameter.
