Raymond, I had this same scenario happen to me. The NT guys turned on compression on the drive?? - Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Messenger - Talk while you surf! It's FREE.

I do changingretries 0 So, yes, I don't get every file during every incremental backup FYI John Naylor <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 10/19/2000 08:59 AM Please respond to "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>@SMTP@Exchange To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]@SMTP@Exchange cc: Subject: Re: Lotus Notes backing up too much data Raymond, What is probably happening here is that you are backing up open databases. So you are getting a number of retries, hence the extra data transmitted over the network. So you have at least a couple of options. 1) Make sure the databases are not open when you back them up. 2) Use a management class with a dynamic copy serialization, so it backs up first time NB. If you use option "2" you may get a fuzzy backup, so you will need to do some testing to ensure that the backup is useable if taken when open Hope this helps John Raymond Chao <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> on 10/19/2000 08:14:08 AM Please respond to "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: (bcc: John Naylor/HAV/SSE) Subject: Lotus Notes backing up too much data Hi *sm, We are running ADSM 3.1.2.57 on AIX on 4.3.2 Stk9710 library, dlt drive. The Notes backup has gradually been taking longer over the last few months. The scheduled backup continued into the afternoon. What we notice is that the drive (say e$)has about 65 G capacity and is ONLY half full. It therefore should be backing up about 30G. But NO, it is backing up about 60G. This is the case for all our Lotus Notes Servers. The Notes are using Tivoli 3.7 client version. We are seeing 2 sessions going for each Notes node that are backing up But we have checked that only one scheduler running per node. One session is idle or sending very little data. We are seeing only one session for other NT servers. Also we see the following- ANR2576W An attempt was made to update an event record for a scheduled operation which has already been executed - multiple client schedulers may be active for node CBRNOTES03. I have logged a call for Tivoli software support but any suggestions will be gladly accepted and much appreciated.
