Just as an aside, the fix for this is supposedly available in 5.1.7.1, which is now available from the ftp site. FWIW -- "invalid format code" in the top right search box at www.ibm.com (which, in my case, resolves to www.ibm.com/us) returns what Richard describes. Note double quotes and all lower case. Remeta, Mark wrote: Search within: United States Worldwide Advanced searchTips No results found Maybe your going to a different www.ibm.com... Or maybe it's case-sensitive? Worked for me. This is the noisiest list I have ever been on. Has anyone given any thought to splitting this into client/server questions and by IBM-OS/Win/Other, perhaps by instituting a filterable naming convention? And another category for generics Q/A/rants? For all but the full-time TSM administrator (and for many of them) this might be the only way to overcome the unfavorable signal-to-noise ratio. If that doesn't fly, I'm either going to the digest or dropping out altogether. While there are some very knowledgeable and helpful people here, it is a scary thought to me that there are so many people responsible for enterprise backup and restore who cannot or will not spend five minutes to RTFM or design a brief test. Or who think that the four minutes they save by posting instead is more valuable than the five-ten seconds it takes to scan their query, recognize it and delete it - multiplied by hundreds of list participants. >ha! It's asking for a username and password >Care to provide that too Eric? Ah, service contracts... for those in the Latest Release Club. If you "hang back" in version+release, you can get away with not having a service contract, and thus authorization to see open APARs, which don't matter to you because the older release you are on is stabilized and all the APARs are closed oldies. Re: 5.2 bug?
Well Mark, you should already have one. When Tivoli switched to the IBM site the provided a way to migrate your Tivoli Support Userid to an IBM version. If you didn't do that in the past, just apply for a new one at: https://www-120.ibm.com/software/support/ecare/register You will need this id anyway if you need to find APAR data or if you want to report a new bug to support. Re: 5.2 bug?
Works for me. I even tried it in Mozilla (my browser of choice.) with the same results. Two hits.the first one is the one mentioned... Here is the basic text..Currently there is no "local fix". Also, since the original comment was "I upgraded from 5.1.7 to 5.2", kinda makes me wonder.. IC36566: THE TSM 5.1.7.0 SERVER MAY GENERATE "INVALID FORMAT CODE" ERRORSDURING SERVER DATA MOVEMENT OPERATIONS Error description New validation code has been added to the TSM 5.1.7.0 server during internal server data movement operations. This new validation support does not correctly handle legacy/older data format codes used in older releases of TSM/ADSM. The following error will be seen when TSM attempts a move operation against data with an older format code: ANRD ssutil.c(1694): ThreadId<48> Invalid format code - 1 The error has been observed during Move Data, Migration, and Backup Stgpool operations.
