Re: V3.1 clients on V4.2 server OK?
We just recently upgraded to 4.2 from 3.1 - and while we did upgrade some clients - the ones we didn't worked just fine.. (Solaris, NT, Netware, Linux, AIX) Hope that helps. It was a fairly smooth upgrade on an AIX server. We did run into some quirky settings on our Retain deleted files that caused expiration to never finish. When we changed the settings from keeping a copy forever to a set period of time like 90 days, and we had deleted 19,000,000 files off our mail server - everything was perfect. V3.1 clients on V4.2 server OK?
We are about to (finally) upgrade our server to 4.2, but we have a lot of V3.1 clients. Will they continue to work? I sure hope so, because I'd like to follow the recommendation in the TSM manuals which is to upgrade the server first, and then the clients, however I've heard rumors of problems in this area. The client platforms are MS Win32, AIX, Solaris, Mac... Will the new V5.1 client for Mac OSX work with a V4.2 server?
