It is 5 GB. RV: maximum size of recovery-log
I got this answer from a previous entry in the forum. Hope it is what you are lloking for. Regards Maria Recovery log, maximum size: Per APAR IC15376, the recovery log should not exceed 5.5 GB (5440 MB). But APAR IY09200 says that the maximum size is 5420 MB; and the max usable is 5416 MB, allowing for control information.

Re: maximum size of recovery log
I tried posting this a few days ago, but because of a change in my email address I was not authorized. Trying again.. >Is there a maximum recovery log size of 4 gig in the version of ADSM we >are running? There is a limitation of 5.3G. You can use the undocumented command SHOW LVMFA to see the limitation for that and for the size of the data base. The limitation is the same for all current versions of the ADSM/TSM server. It might change in the future. >Recovery log, maximum size Per APAR IC15376, the recovery log >should not exceed 5.5 GB (5440 MB). But >APAR IY09200 says that the maximum size >is 5420 MB; and the max usable is 5416 >MB, allowing for control information. IC15376 is not quite accurate (although it does mention 5G not 5.5G). IY09200 is accurate on the 5416K value, although the difference between the 5416K and the 5420K is not because of control information, only with how calculations were performed that store data structures in a certain fixed area in the first 1M area of each DB and LOG volume. Re: maximum size of recovery log
I got kind'a miffed 'cause I had a 3GB log & wanted to add another logfile (a 4 GB) so I could delete the 3GB What I had to do was allocate a 1 GB log, add it, delete my 3GB log, add my 4 GB log, then delete my 1GB log AAA 'cause remember... all that time I was sync'n up mirrors also Dwight > -- > From: Richard Sims[SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Reply To: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager > Sent: Thursday, August 03, 2000 2:14 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: maximum size of recovery log > > >The admin guide states the maximum as being 5.5 GB, and the largest I > could > >set mine to was 5400 MB. > > From my ADSM functional directory (http://people.bu.edu/rbs): > > Recovery log, maximum size Per APAR IC15376, the recovery log > should not exceed 5.5 GB (5440 > MB). Re: maximum size of recovery log
The admin guide states the maximum as being 5.5 GB, and the largest I could set mine to was 5400 MB. We use rollforward mode for our log, but I have to change it to normal mode we when do our quarterly archives to keep it from filling up, then change it back once the data is copied and migrated. That's the only suggestion I am aware of to minimize log usage. Rollforward mode makes for a much larger log that normal mode. The max used to be somewhere over 5GB. I, for one, would like to see this limit increased. Re: maximum size of recovery log
Hi, Irene... I believe the max size of the recovery log is 5.5 GB (ADSM Administrator's Guide, page 356)... A 4 GB log seems pretty large... what seems to be filling it? maximum size of recovery log
We are running Version 3, Release 1, Level 2.40 of ADSM. I am attempting to increase the size of our recovery log which is currently 4 gig in size. When I try to add a 2 gig volume to it I receive the following error: ANR2452E DEFINE LOGVOLUME: Maximum recovery log capacity exceeded. Is there a maximum recovery log size of 4 gig in the version of ADSM we are running? If not, does anyone have suggestions on how to handle this problem? Thanks in advance, Irene EMAIL:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
