placements by categoryname with Example in Google API V201003.

Help on Billing details

2010-05-26 Thread RobertPhoenix
Searching through the documentation, and searching through this Forum,
it appears that it is not possible to get a billing report.

That would be very important so that I can capture the data and
automatically reconcile credit card charges, so this is going to be
really dissappointing if it is true (and also very strange)

However, even if that is not possible it would be very valuable to
have a near real time record of expense, so I suppose I should be able
to get a performance report(s) for the previous day, and see the
amount spent.

Does anyone have any advice on this, and any possible pitfalls ?

v201003 beta

2010-05-26 Thread Alex Parij
Hi ,

I have couple of question regarding the new api and specifically
ReportDefinitionService :

1) Beta version means the API will change significantly when it will
be out beta ? Is it just less tested version and the api itself is
basically frozen ?
2) In the API rate sheet I could not find the cost of report download.

Thank you.

Re: v201003 beta , ReportDefinitionService- Structure report not included ?

2010-05-26 Thread Clay
More generally, how do we keep our list of accounts/campaigns/adgroups/
ad/keywords in sync with yours in the new API? In the past, it hasn't
been feasible to do this via individual API calls.

Keep in mind that there are times when we need the account structure
before there are any impressions for automated URL tagging, so
performance reports are not an option in this case.

Re: v201003 ReportDefinitionService - Cross-client reports are not supported?

2010-05-26 Thread Clay
Wow, it looks like it is true:
http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/v2009/docs/reference/ReportDefinitionService.html

I second this.

What I really want is to give you (Adwords that is) a big chunk of
data I need, and you let me know when it is done. It looks like I can
request multiple reports at once. Can this be 1000 individual client
reports?

Re: Sign up for Adwords API center

2010-05-26 Thread RobertPhoenix
I was logged into the MCC account, but still couldn't see the AdWords
API Center Menu Item.

I now know what the problem is. You have two MCC Client interfaces.

1. Click on "My Client Center" Tab

2. Look down to the middle of the page. There is a link that says
"View New MCC Interface"

3. Click on that link, and then look for the tab "My Account"

4. The "My Account" tab has the menu item we are looking for "AdWords
API Center"

Problem solved !!

Re: Job processing is very slow

2010-05-26 Thread Tiny
Hi Eric,

Thank you for your answer. I want find some solution for our
application if there is similar issue in the future, so I want to ask
you some additional questions:

1. Can you tell me what do you mean by large batches? Are we talking
about changes in hundreds, thousands, ten thousands entities? I'd like
to know where do you advice to put threshold for using bulk operations
over of their synchronous version.

2. What actually happened to the bulk requests which were successfully
posted to AdWords services? Were they eventually processed? Our users
lost patient with the application and simply terminated posting
changes and tried to post changes once again. That means multiple same
bulk operation requests were sent to AdWords services.

3. Is there some way how to manage bulk operations which were already
sent to AdWords services? I'm looking for something which will allow
me to cancel sent request, if it is not processed after some period of
time.

Cheers,
Marian

v201003 ReportDefinitionService - Cross-client reports are not supported?

I've read in the documentation that Cross-client reports are not
supported.
Is it just because it's still beta or won't there be any chance to
grab a report covering all accounts underneath an MCC?

Hi,

The v200909 and v201003 TargetingIdeaService provides this

Hi Marian,

The problem is only affecting the BulkMutateJobService, so using the
synchronous methods is a viable workaround. In general we recommend
using the BMJS only for large batches of work that are not very time
sensitive, and using the synchronous services for smaller request or
those that need to be processed immediately.

Hi,

The developer token format of "email++currency" only works in the
sandbox environment. For the production environment a real developer
token is required.

Re: Pull keywords from existing adgroup / campaign via API?

Hi,

You can use the AdGroupCriterionService to get() the keywords in your
static campaign and then add them to your dynamic campaign using
mutate(ADD).

Also just general comment on the docs , for the fields you ask to
"To find out which report fields are available based on report type
and your account features, call getReportFields."
It would be nice if you included a list of all possible fields and
just stated that the availability of some fields depends on the
account.

Thanks

The reports generated by the v13 ReportService in the sandbox are
static and do not change based on the parameters of the report. In
production the columns should be selected correctly.

Re: How to use get Monthly Search Volume method ?

2010-05-26 Thread Corey Bornmann
I'm with you on this one. I am having issues with this as well. From
what I can tell, we need to use a combination of the old v13 method
for the monthly volume and v2009 for the actual keywords.

Am I correct on this one?

Re: Sign up for Adwords API center

2010-05-26 Thread RobertPhoenix
I am having exactly the same problem.

I read through the instructions, and it says

"If you already have an MCC account, you can sign up for the AdWords
API directly from the My Account tab. Click on "API Center"

So I created an MCC account, and linked an account into it.

But when I click on "My Account" tab the words "API Center" are not on
the page.

What have I missed ? What else do I need to do, to be able to get
started on accessing the AdWords API ?

Should I guess the rest of the email address you quoted "Send your
account details to adwordsapiadvi...@google.com and then update this
thread so I know to check that inbox." ?

Or do you have a magic way to make the whole address visible to me ?

Thanks,

Robert.

Re: Job processing is very slow

2010-05-26 Thread Tiny
Hi Eric,

Do you know whether the solution/workaround is using synchronous API
call instead of Bulk operations for now? We are using just bulk
operations at this moment but switching to synchronous operations
shouldn't be problem for us, if we know that it helps.

Thanks, Marian

Re: Locking Level for concurrent api requests

2010-05-26 Thread Juno Internet KaufDA
Thank you for the quick reply.

Is there any way to circumvent these restrictions (e.g. paying extra
api-units or paying for an account upgrade)? If not, we will restrain
using one thread per account instead of using multiple threads on one
account, although it might work in some cases.
We already put multiple operations in one mutate request and also
tried using BulkMutateJob, but found it a little bit too unreliable
(no guaranteed / predictable running time).

Greetings from KaufDA
