However, the new service in v201008 only shows the estimated max
Clicks on a keyword as a LONG, and it appears to be rounded
down. This
means if there are less than 30 clicks available on a keyword
in a
month, the new TrafficEstimatorService in v201008 just returns
an
estimate of 0... The existing v13 service appears much more
helpful,
as it returns UpperClicksPerDay as a float, and can return 0.5,
say,
if there are approx 15 clicks available per month. This makes
the v13
service much better for exploring long tail keywords.

Will the TrafficEstimatorService in v201008 be updated to also
return
a FLOAT for the max Clicks, before the v13 service is put into
Sunset?

CompetitionSearchParameter meaning?

2010-12-13 Thread veseo
Can someone explain the meaning and actual usage of this
TargetingIdeaService search parameter? I tried an example with the
word snickers with three requests, trying each one of the possible
values (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH) and got very confusing results - Medium ones
had the lowest search volume, while LOW and HIGH ones had both very low
(3 figures) and quite high (6 figures) search volumes. I'm attaching a
PDF with those results (I hope it's not against Google policy?).

The other search parameters I used are:
CountryTargetSearchParameter - DE and AT
LanguageTargetSearchParameter - de

I give up trying to get an API key

2010-12-13 Thread mib
I've been trying for about three months to get an API key. I can't
seem to figure this. I've wasted hours in circles of 'help' pages
reading usless information that leads me even more frustrated then
when I started. This is my first on the topic and I hope I don't have
to wait a month for response.

So let's see: You need an MCC account to get an API key. Fair. I have
one. What's next? You must sign up for the Adwords API Account
directly. Here's a quote from the main page:

you can sign up for the AdWords API directly from the My Account tab.
Click on API Center and follow the instructions

Problem. I don't see API Center.

So I did some reading for an hour and came across this post:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdWords/thread?tid=77b5c0c6f1d75902hl=en

This lead me no where. At some point (some time ago) I did go through
the process of actually applying for an API key. Since then I haven't
received any email or otherwise confirmation of anything. Searching on
trying to finding a solution is a maze of circles that bring me back
to the same pages I saw an hour when I started.

I'm extremely frustrated. Can anyone suggested the magical page I need
to read in order to get an API key? I mean, why is it so difficult? I
think jumping out of a plane would be easier at this point.

Re: Invite enabled account for MCC access

Hi Sunil,

API access requires that you have an MCC account, and you cannot
create an MCC account with the same credentials as your AdWords
account. If you already have another MCC you can use that to sign up
for API access.

Re: Bulk mutate job on AdParamOperation

2010-12-13 Thread AdWords API Advisor
Hi,

Unfortunately the BulkMutateJobService doesn't support
AdParamOperations. You must enter one ad param per keyword, you
cannot leave the criterionId empty.

On Dec 10, 12:30 pm, CPicou adwo...@baobaz.com wrote:
 Hi,
I'd like to know if it will be possible to set AdParam in a bulk job.
Since we have to create one AdParam per keyword and per numeric value
in the ad, that implies a very important number of operations. In my
case, 2 operation per keyword, and I'm working on AdWords accounts
that reach the million of keywords.

So performing AdParam operations in a bulk job could be very useful
 for me.

I think there's another way to improve the process. When I create an
AdParam, in my case it always refer to all the keywords in the
AdGroup. At the moment, I have to create identical AdParam for each
keyword in the AdGroup, with different  CriterionId.
So the CriterionId field is useless in my case. If I could leave it
empty, considering that if this field is empty, the AdParam refers to
all the keywords in this AdGroup, I will only have one or two AdParam
per AdGroup. That will decrease the number of operations, and the lack
of bulk job for this task will be less sensitive.

 Thank you

TargetingIdeaService - authentication problems

2010-12-13 Thread Reed
I'm doing my first dabbling with the TargetingIdeaService, using SOAP
from previous posting replies as a model, to get monthly search volume
numbers. See below for the SOAP that I am sending to https://
adwords.google.com/api/adwords/o/v201003/TargetingIdeaService.
Initially I got a 500 error authToken is missing in SoapHeader which
seemed odd because the authToken is in the header of the SOAP
document, and the only API call that I've encountered so far that
wanted the authToken in the http header was to download reports in the
reportService. Just for grins I added it to the HTTP header, and the
error changed to AuthenticationError.OAUTH_TOKEN_HEADER_INVALID but
I know the token is good because it is working for other API calls I
am making to reportService, campaignService, etc.

As a side note, how do I get monthly search volumes for a specific
month? Any more examples coming in the php library for
TargetingIdeaService?

thanks,
Reed

CustomerSyncService in Sandbox - not all changes are returned

2010-12-13 Thread Alexander Parij
Hi ,

Is it possible that somehow the sandbox won't return the ids of changed
objects using CustomerSyncService ?
From what I see it will never return id's of changed or deleted adgroup
criterions, also no changes to adgroup are returned. Changes to campaigns or
ads are picked up and returned .

Can you check that in sandbox using my credentials:

Download daily report using old api

2010-12-13 Thread cvijayarenu
Hello,
I am trying to find an example to dowload daily reports using the old api (
v13).

The example present was to create a report job which returns a job id and
the use that job id to get the report.

Isn't there a way to download the reports which are generated daily?

We have created a report which runs daily using the old interface. So we
have to use the old api to download the reports.
The problem is we dont know the job id .

How do we list the jobs or reports available for download?

I checked this.
http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/developer/ReportService.html
and this does not have a way to list the reports.

How do i do this with the old api?

And when can i find the old sample code.

thanks
