AdGroup Experiments

2011-07-12 Thread OTTMike
It seems like you can only run 1 experiment per campaign at one
time so how can you effectively test multiple adgroups against
copies of themselves? If I wanted to promote the changes in the
future it would seem like promote would be worthless if you were
testing multiple unique adgroups. I would think I would have to just
delete whichever didn't win.

What I'm wanting to do is test different ad url's in multiple adgroups
for kind of A/B testing.

Am I going about this all wrong?

Thanks!

Api connection through excel

I want to access the google adwords api through excel using the soap,

I can just replace my token and I get something. I am so frustrated

I NEED A PROGRAMMER WITH EXPERIENCE WITH GOOGLE ADWORDS API

2011-07-12 Thread Marcio Andrade
Hi,

I need someone with Programming Experience on the Google Adwords API
who can create a simple little program that can do this:

1. Receive an XML Request for the Keywords to be researched.
2. Query Google Traffic Estimator and Google Keyword Tool for those
Keywords using DeathByCaptcha.com's API for Captcha Solving.
3. Extract the Results and save them to a CSV File on the Server.
4. Notify the Requester via XML that the results are ready to be
downloaded from the Server.

That's it.

Please let me know if you are interested or know someone who is - I
need this done ASAP. Thank you.

v201101 - report delay?

2011-07-12 Thread John Bliss
Using v201101, I requested this report for yesterday (7/11):

reportType DESTINATION_URL_REPORT
creationTime 20110712 080452 America/Los_Angeles

That was created almost four hours ago. But when I call
reportdownload, I get:

RUNNING

When I create same / similar report with v13 or via AdWords Web
interface, it never takes longer than 30 minutes to run.

Please advise.

Re: CustomerSyncService: not recognizing change to MaxCPC

2011-07-12 Thread bgraves
The precision is due to the fact that I need to get all the changes
since the last time that the CustomSyncService ran a get operation. I
don't see why the precision matters since the very next call to the
service takes a dateTimeRange starting from the last precise
dateTimeRange. Since neither of the ranges show the change but a
combination of the ranges (without the precision) does, there is
something definately wrong with the CustomerSyncService. Are you
saying that I can no longer be precise about the dateTimeRange?

1. Sandbox only supplements mocked data, to get real estimates you need to
go against production.

2. TrafficEstimatorService can't report based on a website as opposed to

Re: Keyword Performance report

2011-07-12 Thread jstedman
I think what is being reported here is that the report he receives is
effectively only containing column attributes. He is not getting any
tags or the data that should be between them.

Also, I may be misunderstanding your post Danial, but the reporting
service does return rows that have all zeros in their stats columns in
performance reports. I am using the KeywordPerformanceReport,
ManagedPlacementPerformanceReport, and AdGroupPerformanceReport to
sync campaign structure and our system syncs campaigns/adgroups that
have no performance data with no problems.

As far as I know the only case where zero's prevent a row from being
in a report are when you include a field that has "Prevents zero-
impression rows from being returned." listed in the Report Types chart
notes column.

Recording a Conversion on website and keeping any required value on Database

2011-07-12 Thread ARL
Hello,

We are new studying the AdWords API, and not even developed any code
with this, we are just analyzing different scenarios to implement the
API in our solutions.

We have different websites which now are using the standard conversion
rules, using jscrips. We track those conversions perfectly, but the
problem arrives after that. We have a selling platform that allows
phone sales, combined with the online sales in the same Database.

If we have a conversion, lets say a Lead, the systems creates an empty
invoice with all the clients data and notes for the calling center. We
have indeed a unique reservation ID, and of course is quite simple to
register also the Google Conversion ID.

When a seller takes this empty reservation, then he/she starts to add
services, prices, profits, take payments, etc. till the very moment
the reservation is closed and ready for the client.

We would like to know if there's a way, using the API and the
conversion tracker system, to establish a relation between the lead
conversion (or any other type of course) and our application; in order
to retrieve the exact campaign / keyword that converted this
reservation into our system. Thus we will have more ROI control.

Regards

Ariel Garmendia

TrafficEstimatorService and NetworkTarget

2011-07-12 Thread jstedman
The v201101 TrafficEstimatorService documentation suggests that
NetworkTarget is a valid Target to be set on a
CampaignEstimateRequest, but since there is no v201101 NetworkTarget
class it cannot be set. The primary use of this class has been
replaced by NetworkSetting in the API, but NetworkSetting is not a
subclass of Target so cannot be used in this way.

Is this something that is being worked on?

If we pass it an existing CampaignId, does the request inherit the
NetworkTarget of the Campaign?

Since the v201008 TrafficEstimatorService is included in the 8.3.1
client libraries, can we safely use it to retain this functionality
past the sunset date?

Can we just hack the network target into the SOAP request since this
Target.type is not in the v201101 API or will this cause a
TARGETING_NOT_SUPPORTED error?

Re: The same report, obtained through the api V201101, is smaller

2011-07-12 Thread mm
An obvious question - are both reports in the same format?

When I moved our code from the v13 reports to the 201101, I first
attempted to match the v13 report with the 201101 report, but frankly,
gave up on that and just began to compare the reports to the UI for
verification.

Re: Odp: Re: Report generate took 4 hours.

2011-07-12 Thread ACE
This is a big issue for us as well. Until v201101 supports cross-client
reporting, it's useless to us. The v13 reports still can take up to 3-4
hours to complete, and when this happens it affects all of our automated
processes. It would be nice to have some updates as to the status of the
integration.

Re: Calling the get() for the CampaignService??

2011-07-12 Thread Neil Kirk
Hey David

Probably because I have been taking the instructions quite literally (and
not being sure if the client library is installed with my hosting service).
I was initially hoping to use the client library (why make things harder for
yourself, right :)

I now believe that the client library is part of the Google::Adwords module,
which is installed; so I should be able to use it right?

On the literal part, the Sandbox
articlementioned using
SOAP with alternate headers, and then calling the CampaignService
get
 to
create a sandbox account.

As I said in the initial post, I am a bit of a noob in all these regards, so
hit a wall...

Would you be able to point me in the right direction of how use the library
to send a get request and 1.) create the sandbox account and 2.) get a list
of the specified campaigns?

Do I also need to change the adwords.properties file? If so, where should
that be put on my site so that it can be accessed?

Thanks David!

Re: Adwords API Billing

2011-07-12 Thread jstedman
You may consider using the InfoService to get this information. It
allows you to see how much you have spent on any given date range for
any given operation within the API.

http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/reference/latest/InfoService.html

The apiUsageType required field in the InfoSelector actually allows
you to receive results separated out by client account so you can not
only see what method in the API is costing you so much, but check that
against your revenue per client account.

The other possibility, and perhaps more useful since it is available
in real time is to check the response header for each call made to the
api and track it in your database as the unit cost is returned for
each request.

Pause a client account through MCC API

2011-07-12 Thread Mahesh
Hi,

I have an MCC account which contains many client accounts. Is there a
direct way of pausing an account through MCC's API ?

I found an indirect solution: Pausing all the campaigns of a client
account. To achieve this we have to get all campaigns of the client
account and update them individually. (Please let me know if this is
the correct way)

Also, MCC is now allowing us to add new client account without any
login associated to it. And the above indirect solution requires the
login to get all the campaigns for a client account.

Is there any way that I can pause the client account (or campaigns of
a client account) more intuitively through MCC?

Thanks
Mahesh

Re: Intermittent NOT_ADS_USER error message

2011-07-12 Thread Yaron Elkayem
Hi Eric and thank you for the answer.
Luckily we have integrated a retry logic implementation at application
level.
In the best practices guide, it says that the prevention tip for this
is: "After a sandbox refresh, ensure you make a request to
CampaignService.get() to reinitialize your account."
http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/troubleshooting.html#AuthenticationError.NOT_ADS_USER
it talks about the sandbox environment, and after a sandbox refresh,
while the problem appeared at production.
In such error cases would a request to CampaignService.get() correct
the issue still?
