Re: Developer token pending approval for 3 weeks
Hi Kevin, Thank you for your reply. On the same day as your reply we got a request from the adwords api team for further information on our application, which we supplied. Two days later we got the api key. Status: approved :) Three days later however, our status was reverted to rejected, without any reason or even a short email explaining or warning us. Could you perhaps shed some light on this, for us, mysterious process? We would very much like to work with the api, and what I've seen of it, those three days, looked very promising, at least to me.. Re: Rounding of conversion value in Keyword and Search Query Performance reports
Hi Greg, The v201101 version of reports addressed a number of shortcomings of the old v13 reports. As a result, some of the behavior may be different. Regarding bugs, we recommend comparing the UI report behavior to the API report behavior - if the two do not agree, we should either have it documented or it may be a bug. It sounds like the UI behavior matches the API behavior regarding this data? What if you run the report itself via the UI? I managed to find the ticket filed to track the issue reported on the thread you linked. Despite being an older issue, the core engineers are planning to re-evaluate this behavior in the near future to see if they can improve this behavior. Re: Rounding of conversion value in Keyword and Search Query Performance reports
Hi, Keven. Thanks for responding. As for whether or not the UI behavior matches the API, I guess the answer is yes, although it makes it harder for us to match the UI. :) The conversion values for the individual keywords and ad groups are indeed shown as rounded in the UI in the same way as the reports from the v201101 API provide them, and the totals line in the downloaded report has the same totals as the UI does. The reason I say it's harder for us to match the UI is because the *totals* in the UI and the downloaded report are not the sum of the rounded amounts from the keywords -- it's easy to see if you pick a small reporting range (like a single day) and include the total conversion value in the list of columns for, say, the ad groups tab. The line with the totals will not (most likely, just depends) add up to the sum of the total conversion values of all the ad groups for the day -- it appears that the totals line is calculated by taking the actual non-rounded conversion values (as given in the v13 report), adding them up, then rounding that result to the nearest tenth. Obviously, if the API doesn't provide the non-rounded conversion values per keyword, ad group, etc., we can't just add up the conversion values and get a correct total for a day or any other time range. Presumably we can get that from the campaign report, but we were hoping to be able to sum up the values as we were previously doing -- but obviously that's nothing that can't be overcome. So, if the goal is for the API to exactly match the UI, I guess it is not a bug or anything needing documentation, but I would suggest that it'd be better for the API not to return rounded numbers and instead to let the applications do the rounding -- rounding is usually something you do for presentation purposes, not with your raw data (which is what the API data is to everyone that is not at google). :) Thanks again, Greg -- =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ Also find us on our blog and discussion group: http://adwordsapi.blogspot.com http://groups.google.com/group/adwords-api =~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups AdWords API Forum group. Re: QPS error
Hi, It is possible to make multiple calls in parallel using the same devtoken. While there is a check on the QPS limit, it is not fixed and depends on various factors including the server load. I'd recommend reading this blog on RateExceeededError to get a better understanding about QPS limits and other rate limits that AdWords API enforces. http://adwordsapi.blogspot.com/2010/06/better-know-error-rateexceedederror.html Cheers, Anash P.
