Re: Adwords API pending approval, Can I use my developer Token?

2012-04-25 Thread Snow Globe
Hello,

First of all thank you Anash for answering some questions on this forum. It
is not always easy to get an answer from Google.

On the same boat. We have been waiting for nearly 2 months and have sent
many emails, posted many messages, asked local Google people to help us and
we are not giving up (we can't or we all lose our jobs).

We adwords certified, analytics qualified, etc. we spend 100% of our time
and R&D on adwords and analytics. We have to let go 1 person already
because the API token waiting approval so, yes, this is a very serious
issue.

We have 1 question: since we have sent our first application, our project
has evolved (because we work hard with whatever we had: automated reports,
etc. and have been able to set-up new products) and we would like to know
how we can communicate the latest version of our project to the API team.

Should we use adwordsapi-tok...@google.com? The answer may seem obvious but
despite all our attempts to have a constructive dialogue with
adwordsapi-tok...@google.com, we hardly get any answer.

Thank you,
SG

Re: Dev API Token - Still Pending

2012-04-25 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Dave,

It generally takes 5-6 weeks for the review to happen, and you will receive
emails from adwordsapi-tok...@google.com to your contact email address (the
one you provided as your contact email when signing up for AdWords API) if
they require any clarification. If you want to get an update about your
token status, drop a mail to adwordsapi-tok...@google.com. Ranksup.com
folks, please make sure you check your inbox for mails from
adwordsapi-tok...@google.com. Chances are that the team never heard back

Re: Ad hoc report, TSV output, no headers

2012-04-25 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Axtens,

The reporting API doesn't provide a way to turn off the report headers. You
could read and skip the first couple of lines (report name, headers lines)
instead and then parse the data as required.

Re: Getting campaign budget spent for a single day

2012-04-25 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Roberto,

The values returned in campaignStats depend on the daterange you specify in
the selector. See
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/latest/CampaignService.Selector#dateRange
 for
details. The data should be ready for download around 4 AM, but it could
potentially change later due to adjustments for click fraud and other
manual adjustments.
See adwordsapi.blogspot.com/2011/06/statistics-in-reports.html for details
on freshness of reporting and stats data.

2012-04-25 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Andrew,

If you don't have an AdWords API Center under My Account, then it means you
are not in an MCC account (In an MCC account, you will have a My Client
Center tab). Create an MCC account from
http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwords/myclientcenter/, and use an email
that is different from your AdWords account's login email. Then login to
the newly created account and continue signing up for AdWords API from My
Account->AdWords API Center.

Re: A newcomer needs help - Problem with Adwords API (Login Account and using Targeting Ideas Service) for my graduated project!

2012-04-25 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Huan,

There's one here:
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-dotnet/source/browse/trunk/examples/adwords/csharp/v201109/Optimization/EstimateKeywordTraffic.cs.

You need to download the .NET client library from
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-dotnet/, open the AdWords.sln
that comes with the project and then see AdWords.Examples.CSharp project to
find the code examples.

To write your own application,
- Add reference to Google.Ads.Common and Google.AdWords assemblies.
-
Copy
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-dotnet/source/browse/trunk/examples/adwords/csharp/App.config

to your application's app.config.
- Fill the credentials in the app.config.
- Code your application to call the service (link to example given above)
- Compile and run the application.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

Cheers,
Anash P. Oommen,

Re: Design Documentation needed for API token?

2012-04-25 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi,

You could write to adwordsapi-tok...@google.com to get more details about
the required details, but my understanding is that you don't need to
provide a detailed design document if you haven't built your application. A
technical overview that explains what kind of functionality your
application provides to your end users and how your application interacts
with the AdWords API to provide that functionality should be enough.

You could also refer to
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/signupquestions for more
details.

Re: Question about "Updates in Ad Performance Report" blog post

2012-04-25 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi Ryo,

As per the blog, v201109 reports won't return stats for dynamic ads. So if
your account has dynamic ads, then its clicks, impressions etc. won't show
up in the ad performance reports (whether or not you request AdType) and
the totals in the API report will differ from the ones in UI report (the
difference between the two would be the stats for dynamic ads). To get the
complete stats, you could try running another report like Campaign
performance report.

Re: API Token - pending approval

2012-04-25 Thread Anash P. Oommen
Hi,

Please drop a mail to adwordsapi-tok...@google.com asking for your token
review updates. Ping them if you don't get updates within a couple of days.
Our team doesn't handle token reviews, so I won't be able to escalate the
process.

Re: TargetingIdeaService with NoClientLibrary

Hi Briggs,

The endpoint for TIS

(/o/, not /cm/). Using the PHP client library is simpler, there's a code

If you don't want to use the client library and just want to post the raw

Re: Quick SOAP+XML Tutorial results in XML_STREAM_EXC

Thanks Anash. I corrected that missing space.

The error result continued as before. What I then discovered was that new
lines between < and > are not acceptable, even though they are accepted by
the validator.

By removing those new lines I'm getting beyond the XML_STREAM_EXC error.

Re: api for getting info using gclid

2012-04-25 Thread Ewan Heming
Hi Vijayraj,

I usually use the {creative} parameter to get the ad id, then match this up
in the API to find out which adgroup triggered the ad. I can then match the
{keyword} and {matchtype} parameters to a keyword within the adgroup. It's
a bit convoluted and not the most efficient process, but it's been this way
for a long time: It would make life much easier if the API adGroupId and
keywordId were available as ValueTrack parameters.

Ewan

What Does Google Consider to be "AdWords API Report Data"?

2012-04-25 Thread Ewan Heming
Hi,

I've been trying to get my head around the API Terms for a while now, and
one question is still confusing me: In the API TOS, "AdWords API Report
Data" is considered data obtained "from Google using Reporting
Functionality"; I thought that this meant the reports pulled from the
ReportDefinition or AdHocReport services, but I've seen several threads in
this forum that suggest Google also considers data downloaded from services
such as the TargetingIdeaService and TrafficEstimatorService is also
considered "AdWords API Report Data"; is this correct?

Thanks,

Ewan

The {keyword} parameter is the one you're actually bidding on that
triggered the ad. If you want the exact search query typed into Google, you
need to extract it from the HTTP referrer.

Re: api for getting info using gclid

2012-04-25 Thread Ewan Heming
Hi Vijayraj,

I haven't used it for a while, but I'm reasonably confident that it's the
keyword from your account, not the search query. I seem to remember being
able to match them up with the keywords in an adgroup in the past anyway,
but my memory isn't that great these days, so you should probably try a few
clicks out to be sure! If the parameter just contained the search query
then there wouldn't be so much point in using it as it's already available
in the referrer header; for the moment at least

Re: Dev API Token - Still Pending

2012-04-25 Thread Dave Winget
Thanks for the reply Anash - You should push them to change that bit where
it says "1 or 2 days for approval" right when you sign up to 5-6 weeks
would help with a lot of confusion...

Re: Image ad and media service

2012-04-25 Thread David Torres
Hi,

Short answer you can't, you got to use other ImageAd in order to re-use the
image it contains, via the adToCopyImageFrom.

A Media array is returned on a successful upload using the
MediaService. For each of the objects in this array there is a mediaId

Re: How to access AdParam info and how many API units does it cost?

2012-04-25 Thread David Torres
Hi Chris,

You are right, I'll have the docs corrected, the charge is 1 unit per get
call and not per item and we are not planning on change that.

Best,
