RE: Is it possible to set custom bids for display network Adgroups?

2013-10-24 Thread Shobha Solanki
David,

There is this option of enabling Custom Bids for Adgroups for Content Campaigns
in Google Adwords. Can we enable custom bids using Google API as well?

Hi Shobha,

Are you referring to bids that only apply to the Display Network on a campaign
that is mixed search and display?

Re: Is it possible to change the bids for auto targets under Dynamic Search Ads - Campaigns using v201309?

2013-10-24 Thread shobha . procentris
Hi Danial,

The Dynamic Search Ads are available as a separate type. But how can we
fetch the individual 'Auto Targets' based on category, URL etc defined
under the Dynamic Search Campaigns. The Keyword Less Category and Query
reports don't seem to return the data.

Also, we can set the bids at Adgroup level, but in our application we want
to set bids at individual Auto Target. The way we can set at keywords level
in Search Campaigns, how can that be done for indivicaul category/auto
target under Dynamic Search Ad Campaigns.

Thanks,
Shobha

Account suspension warning in test account due to policy violations in ads

2013-10-24 Thread Christian

Hi,

I just got a mail warning me about an account suspension due violations of
the AdWords advertising policies.

The problems seem to arise from ads where we submitted exemption requests
and the ad review then rejected these requests. The point is that the
account in question is a *test account*. We use this account to test
interaction with the AdWords API and one part of our tests is the handling
of policy violation errors in ads and keywords.

It seems a bit strange that ads in test accounts actually get reviewed.
Anyway, I would not expect policy violations in ads within test accounts to
have any real effect since the ads are never displayed.

So, what is the best strategy to test handling of policy violations without
getting in trouble with account suspension warnings? Would it be possible
to disable suspensions due to policy-violations in test accounts?

Best regards and thanks for your support!

Christian

Re: Response is not well-formed XML - using .net client libarary 15.5

2013-10-24 Thread Paul Matthews (AdWords API Team)
Hi Glyph,

Our .NET library creator informs me that this is a common problem and has a
standard fix.

.NET's WebRequest class trims the response to a default of 64K if it gets
an http error response code. The AdWords API returns a failed response with

Test API with existing data of PLA feeds

2013-10-24 Thread sheo

I am working on google API to create adgroup and autotargets through our
program.
For this I have created a test adword account. But for PLA feed we need it
to integrate with google Merchant center.
We have already our google merchant center account integrated with other
adword account.
My Question is that, can we integrate these merchant center account with
our test adword account for testing purpose and do some experiment with our
api.I am not sure that whether it will not affect our actual feed data
(with other adword account).

AdWords Keyword Tool API

2013-10-24 Thread oldgoogler
I am having a hard time finding information in the API documentation

version of what is being provided in the Keyword Planner. I have a client

feature.

Is something like this available in the API?

Thanks for any input.

RateExceededError - TrafficEstimatorService with New Accounts created under MCC

2013-10-24 Thread moleary
Coming across a RateExceededError with a single call to the
TrafficEstimatorService after creating a new Adwords Account via the API
under the master MCC Account using v201306.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a new Adwords account via the API.
2) Configure Developer Token and clientCustomerId in auth.ini for the PHP
example code.
3)
Execute
adwords_api_php_4.5.1/examples/AdWords/v201306/Optimization/EstimateKeywordTraffic.php

API returns a rate exceeded error.

An error has occurred: [RateExceededError rateName=RequestsPerMinute,
rateKey=new_qps, rateScope=ACCOUNT, retryAfterSeconds=30]

I have noticed that if I try using the same account the next day, it works,
however for accounts just created the TrafficEstimatorService will fail.
This causes issues with us generating estimates for new clients we onboard.
Waiting 30 seconds makes no difference. The problem still exists hours
later.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: QuotaCheckError.ACCOUNT_INACTIVE at MCC Test Account and production developer Token

2013-10-24 Thread Jeremy Aube
You can't use developer tokens from test accounts. You can, however, use
your pending developer token from your production MCC with your test
account.

 Hi there,

i'm facing some issues concerning AdWords API Calls in a MCC Test-Account.

I will describe the current setup:

 I have two Accounts:
   - a production MCC account with a pending developer Token
   - a test MCC account which has been created with another e-mail address.

In the test MCC account i also requested a developer token.

In the file auth.ini i used:
- developerToken of test MCC
- client_id of test MCC
- client_secret of test MCC
- refresh_token of test MCC.

When running the example GetCampaigns.php i receive:
 An error has occurred: [QuotaCheckError.ACCOUNT_INACTIVE @ ;
 trigger:'null']

Because of some Google Groups Messages, indicating that the pending
production developer token should be used instead,
i replaced the test developer token with the pending production token and
 then i receive another error:

 An error has occurred: [QuotaCheckError.INVALID_TOKEN_HEADER @ ;
 trigger:'MY_PRODUCTION_TOKEN']

I don't know what is wrong with my setup. I would be very pleased if
anyone could find an answer for this issue.

Re: Question about Google API updated terms

2013-10-24 Thread Jeremy Aube
You'd have to confirm with the ToS team to verify compliance, but
technically speaking, it is possible to generate multiple sets of access
tokens, refresh tokens, etc., using the same developer token, so you'd only
be using one developer token if you took that approach.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2013 5:02:13 AM UTC-4, Subrata Sarkar wrote:

 Hello,

I have just gone through updated Terms published by Google
 https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/terms and have some
confusions amongst which the major one is using multiple Adwrods client
login credentials and OAuth2 credentials (for Analytic) in my application's
 database. Please read below.

I am developing an application which will use Google Adwords API and
Google Analytic API. The objective of the application is to allow users
signe up and add thier own Adwords credential (client login) which would be
stored in the database. At any point they can login to the site and fetch
data using API library (in my case I am using .NET client library) and
prepae custom reports for Campaigns, Adgroups, Ads, Keywords etc. using the
raw data. All raw data would be sotored in system's database as well. Once
the data is stored a report can be generated at any time by supplying a
 Start and an End date.

There could be many such Adwords credentials stored in the database. For
Google Analytic API, I have planned to use OAuth2, whcih will access an app
and after authentication process is complete an Aceess_Token, Refresh_Token
and an Expiry time are bing recorded in the database. Again like Adwords
credential, there could be many OAuth2 credential stored in database as
 well.

I am concerened of the following mainly (may be more!):

Permission to Use. You may use the AdWords API only in accordance with the
terms and conditions of this AdWords API Agreement. You must use the same
Developer Token, and only one Developer Token, at all times. You may only
apply for a Developer Token for the sole purpose of using it in AdWords API
Clients you have developed, as approved by Google. You may not use any
Third Party Developer Token in an AdWords API Client unless permitted in
 writing by Google.

Please let me know if this violates anything as far as terms of usage are
 concerned.

Re: V201309 Placement Performance Report - Managed Automtic

2013-10-24 Thread okiebug1...@gmail.com
OK Zweitze - I'll post my outcome for your suggested work around until
Google API team gets feature corrected.

On Monday, October 21, 2013 2:15:46 PM UTC-4, Zweitze wrote:

You could try to make the distinction with column Id.
Managed placements have ids, but automatic placements do not have ids. So
when it's empty (or has the magical value 300) it is an automatic

Note I haven't tested this, I noticed the distinction from working with
 other reports.
If you do test, please share the results.

Placement Performance Report- Automatic placements are now included in
 this report.

I am now attempting to identify automatic versus managed placements
within this report. So I started at the UI and used the tab “Display
Network” and then navigated to “Placements”. Noted the column “Status”
provided me with the information and looked into the documentation for the
 report
type http://goo.gl/AoJ0lQ and found the API field name. So I created
the following report, and low and behold the API output gave me the values
Paused, Deleted or Active for this and not the Managed, Automatic.

What should my report definition look like to get column that designates
a managed vs. automatic placement, like the Status column in the UI?

Re: oAuth2.0 error: Credential could not be refreshed........ client.auth.oauth2.TokenResponseException: 400 Bad Request , error : invalid_grant

2013-10-24 Thread Jim
Can you explain a little more? We have 20+ accounts linked in our mcc.
The old API (without Oath) worked fine.
Is there some new access we need to setup now that we are setting up Oath.
What steps are needed?

Thanks,

Jim

 Hi,

I guesss, it's because the account you granted access to AdWords and the
account you were trying to make a request against are different (or not
under the MCC you granted access).

Please make sure you grant access to an MCC account or a client account.
And the account you are trying to make a request is under the MCC or the
 client account you granted access.

Re: Campaign individual budget

2013-10-24 Thread Ondřej Bartas
When you are creating New Campaign you need to create budget first and
set isExplicitlyShared to FALSE.

Then use ID from budget for new campaign as parameter budget_id

When you are updating budget, just find campaign with selector BudgetId and
then update Budget object by Budget Service.

Just made the arrangements so at update time, I get the budget ID from the
existing campaign, set it to the newly created Budget instance and them
 pass to the service.
 Worked like a charm.
 Thank you guys.

I believe even existing individual budgets have to be updated via the

So you should be able to get the BudgetId field of your existing
campaign by doing a GET to CampaignService (don't know the specifics of
doing this using the Java client library). Then just mutate that budgetId
 using budgetService.

Re: Question about Google API updated terms

2013-10-24 Thread Niladri Sirkar
Thank you Jeremy!
Here is an example of how I like the system to work. Just want to make sure
I have included everything in my question

1. My system has 5 users
2. Every single user has its own Developer token, Email Id, Password,
Master Client Id etc., so in the database I have 5 of them
3. Each of them can comes to my site and fetch data from both Adwords,
Analytic API and Google Places APIs
4. So my system is actually dealing with 5 diff developer tokens / client
logins. It is also possible that all of them can use the system at the same
time which makes it simultaneous API calls with different tokens being used.

Does ToS team have a group as well or I have to contact where?

Best regards,
Subrata Sarkar

my application's database. Please read below.

I am developing an application which will use Google Adwords API and
Google Analytic API. The objective of the application is to allow users

data using API library (in my case I am using .NET client library) and
prepae custom reports for Campaigns, Adgroups, Ads, Keywords etc. using the

You may use the AdWords API only in accordance with
the terms and conditions of this AdWords API Agreement. You must use the
same Developer Token, and only one Developer Token, at all times. You may
only apply for a Developer Token for the sole purpose of using it in
AdWords API Clients you have developed, as approved by Google. You may not
use any Third Party Developer Token in an AdWords API Client unless
 permitted in writing by Google.

Please let me know if this violates anything as far as terms of usage are
 concerned.
