Re: In Ad Performance report I get Ad Type "Display Ad" - should it be a Network Type, instead of the ad type?

2014-06-18 Thread Danial Klimkin
I've confirmed this is the correct behavior. As per documentation:

  TEMPLATE_AD / Display ad

So 'Display ad' corresponds to template ads.

I'm having the exact same problem, unable to create a test mcc account, and
instead it creates a non-test adwords account.

Any solution to this yet?

Hi Scott,

You can do it either way. You can find the ID on the developers site (or
download .csv) or use LocationCriterionService. All of our libraries have
an example on how to use it.

AdWords API on App Engine PHp

2014-06-18 Thread shahar

Hi,

I'm trying to get the AdWords API working on App Engine (PHP Version).

On my local machine everything is working as needed, but as soon as i
upload it to App Engine i'm getting a SoapFault error "Could not connect to
host".

When i dump the request itself and try it manually its working both from my
local machine and both from the App Engine platform.

Have any one had any usage with the AdWords API in App Engine? Or any other
suggestions why it doesn't work ?

How to get API Developer token approved?

We are an advertising agency and we would like to use AdWords API on
reporting. As we have applied the token & set the billing information, but
the status keeps "pending" for three days, same problem occurs in our 3
MCCs. How to solve the problem or which one shall we contact? Our Google
Account Manager said that the API matters are not their responsibilities.
Any one can help?

Re: In Ad Performance report I get Ad Type "Display Ad" - should it be a Network Type, instead of the ad type?

It means the ad is of API type TemplateAd:

https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201402/AdGroupAdService.TemplateAd

There are multiple ways such ad can be created, including API.

Re: Issues with adding production partition in shopping campaign with API

2014-06-18 Thread aroxotest18
Hi ,

Sorry i can;t understand.

I knew, Each Adgroup have ONLY ONE *parentCriterionId ( i-e NOT NULL or
NOT Empty ),*

i Just wanted to know about,

1. i created Adgroup using following code

$adGroupService = $user->GetService('AdGroupService', ADWORDS_VERSION);

// Create ad group.
$adGroup = new AdGroup();
$adGroup->campaignId = "24589366";
$adGroup->name = "pla-test";
 // Create operation.
$operation = new AdGroupOperation();
$operation->operand = $adGroup;
$operation->operator = 'ADD';
 // Make the mutate request.
$result = $adGroupService->mutate(array($operation));

2. using created Adgroup id, i have used selection to get Adgroup details (
my Selection code in previous post, i tried with "*parentCriterionId * " as
selection field too today)

But i didn't get Any Product Partition with *parentCriterionId * HAS VALUE.

if i get the *parentCriterionId * has value , i can make single REMOVE
mutate request to delete all product partition within the Adgroup

Thanks

Unknown recognised category ids from google adwords

2014-06-18 Thread sitaram krishna
Hi,

I am trying to use the TargetingIdeaService to get kw suggestions.

Version details:
  *adspygoogle*=1.1.6* api_version*=v201309

As part of the response from the TargetingIdeaService
(https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201309/TargetingIdeaService.TargetingIdeaSelector)

, we are getting some unrecognised categories (for the field:
CATEGORY_PRODUCTS_AND_SERVICES) like 10008, 11514, 13665.

These categories are unrecognised as per this mapping:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/productsservices

Sample url for which those categories are present as part of the response:
http://www.everestgear.com/deemcr.html

Andreas,

I also noticed that the start index is 1000. Could I trouble you to reduce
the start index to 0 and potentially also reduce the page size to see if it
would still result in the same error.

Thanks,

Re: ReportUtilities.DownloadClientReport throws ReportsException with empty Errors array

2014-06-18 Thread Ray Tsang (AdWords API Team)
Peter,

Thanks for providing the information! HTTP 401 error is a standard HTTP
error for unauthorized access. The response payload is actually HTML -
hence the error objects are empty because it isn't the same service errors
that you normally get.

Please recheck the credentials. Also - *ClientLogin* authorization is
sunsetting soon
!

 You *must* migrate to use OAuth 2.0 authorization instead.

Cheers,

Ray

Furnishing AdGroups without returning the AdGroupReturnValue to our application.

2014-06-18 Thread Alan Coleman
Hello everyone,

We've built an app with the AdWords API and it's working really well.

Our app creates AdGroups and furnishes them with Ads, Keywords and Negative
Keywords.

We create our Adgroups first and use the IDs from the *AdGroupReturnValue* to
then create Ads, Keywords and Negative Keywords using the new AdGroup ID.

There is a problem with this approach - If there is an error or the API
Rejects either the Ads, Keywords or Negative Keywords we're left with an
empty AdGroup.

*So my question is this:*

Is there a way that I can create an AdGroup and furnish it with Ads,
Keywords and Negative Keywords at the same time, without having to return
the newly created AdGroup ID to our app?

This would not only be a more elegant solution but would probably cost less
in terms of Rate Limit.

Thanks

Alan,

We don't support this at the moment. Each mutate request is atomic by its
own. It's recommended that the client application handle the error
conditions accordingly as every user may have a different requirement for
this.

Thanks!

Re: ReportUtilities.DownloadClientReport throws ReportsException with empty Errors array

2014-06-18 Thread Peter Kingswell
Hi Ray,

this is the only account (of hundreds) that has returned 401. Usually we
catch AdWordsCredentialsExpiredException or look for REPORT_MISMATCH_ERROR
or NOT_ADS_USER_ERROR or USER_PERMISSION_DENIED.

What does 401 actually mean, just bad credentials? Also, the exception
really shouldn't say "see errors field for more details" if that field is a
zero-length array.

Regarding Client Login we're currently transitioning our customers to OAuth.

Cheers, Peter

Re: Furnishing AdGroups without returning the AdGroupReturnValue to our application.

Thanks Ray,

We're storing and handling the errors that return, but that still leaves
the orphaned AdGroup - I can maybe put in a clean up operation to handle
this at a later stage.

Thanks again for your input. :-)

Is it possible to retrieve the IP of the person viewing the ad?

2014-06-18 Thread Geoffrey Liu
I want my script to retrieve the IP of the person viewing the ad so that I
can use it in my script. I'm using another API that has to ability to
generate a response based on a given IP, but if I use my API's IP
auto-detect feature, it detects the IP of the server on which the script is
hosted (Google's servers in California).

I know that AdWords' regional targeting criteria for campaigns relies on
detecting the viewer's IP, but can the AdWords API return this IP to my
script?

Thanks,

Geoff

RateExceededError returned with no fields

2014-06-18 Thread Alan Coleman
Hello everyone,

I'm storing and handling any errors I receive back from the API, however I
am occasionally getting the [RateExceededError ] without the accompanying
fields (rateScope, rateName, retryAfterSeconds).

I can't really handle this error without the accompanying details.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Many thanks.

conversions in shopping performance report

2014-06-18 Thread GregT
Hi,

We are preparing to move all our client's PLA campaigns over to shopping
campaigns, as required by August, since PLA campaigns will be retired then.
 One issue we're running into is that, unlike every other performance
report that we use in the API, the shopping performance report does not
contain the fields "ConversionTypeName" and "ConversionCategoryName", which
allow segmenting by individual conversion types. This is critical
information for us, because many [most?] of our clients have many different
conversion types, and the information on what kind(s) of conversion
happened is very important. Could you please add these fields to the
report, in matching with the other performance reports, particularly as we
are all going to be required to upgrade to shopping campaigns very soon?

Thanks much,
Greg

Re: Dynamically GeoTarget Campaigns

2014-06-18 Thread ZekeZ
Josh,

This is not particularly straight forward. Couple of obvious questions:

1) It appears location id is required, but per the documentation, and exact
name match must be passed in. This would seem to be problematic unless I
can get a complete list of all of the location names to make sure a valid
name is passed in. Is that possible?
2) What about an id for a proximity (zip plus radius)? How would it be
possible to derive that?

Thanks,
ZZ

that would be really helpful as well.
