Hi Cory,

Could you provide the SOAP request and response log for the above API
request along with sample Campaign Ids/names which have a ManualCpm bidding
strategy? Please use *Reply privately to author* when responding.

Thanks,

Re: keyword bid update in base campaign with Trial

2016-05-25 Thread xiangdong peng
Hi Anthoy,

thanks for confirm, then what does "Changes to entities of the base
campaign after creating the trial will be applied to the trial
asynchronously, unless the changed fields were overridden in the draft.
Changes to the draft have no effect on a trial once it has been created."
exactly mean in TrialService overview?

Is it possible to get a complete list that the changes in base campaign
will be applied to trial asynchronously? or the document is wrong.

We are planning to use DraftService/TrialService for bid/creative/landing
page experiment etc.

Thanks,
Xiangdong

keyword bid update in base campaign with Trial

2016-05-25 Thread xiangdong peng
I am reading the document here.
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201603/TrialService

Changes to entities of the base campaign after creating the trial will be
applied to the trial asynchronously, unless the changed fields were
overridden in the draft. Changes to the draft have no effect on a trial
once it has been created.

My question here is whether it is possible to change keyword bid in base
campaign and trial campaign , and the changes in base campaign doesn't
apply to trial.

I tested the first part, and saw different bid for the keyword in base and
trial, but I am not sure whether the bid update in base campaign will
eventually override bid in trial.

Create display campaign with cpm bidding

2016-05-25 Thread cjalbert
We are trying to add support for our app to create campaigns
programmatically for our users.

We are starting with display campaigns with user list targeting.

Creating these and their adgroups and userlistcriterion is all working
great for manual_cpc and cpc bids.

However if we try to make a display campaign with manual_cpm either through
the biddingStrategyType, or the biddingScheme, I get this error:
OperationAccessDenied.OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE @
operations[0].operand.biddingStrategyConfiguration.biddingStrategyType;
trigger:'DISPLAY'

This makes sense on one level because the documentation for
biddingStrategyConfiguration here

explains that manual_cpm is not an option for display campaigns.
"This field may only be set to the values: MANUAL_CPC, ENHANCED_CPC,
TARGET_ROAS, TARGET_SPEND, TARGET_CPA, NONE for campaign channel type
DISPLAY."

However, the documentation for the adwords editor here
 says that
cpm bidding is for Display Network only campaigns.
"Manual CPM bidding: Available at the campaign level for Display Network
only campaigns."

So I do not know how to go about this. I have examples of campaigns that
were made in the adwords ui that I can get with the campaignService.get
that have advertisingChannelType: "DISPLAY" and
biddingStrategyType: "MANUAL_CPM".

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Cory

Create DISPLAY campaign with MANUAL_CPM bidding

2016-05-25 Thread cjalbert
We are working on a feature that will allow users to create their google
campaigns programmatically. The first ones we are supporting are Display
campaigns with user list targeting.
All of this is working great for MANUAL_CPC bidding scheme and cpc bids.

However in the adwords UI, you can make a DISPLAY campaign with cpm
bidding. We would like to support this too. I cannot figure out how to do
it though.

I have tried setting the biddingStrategyConfiguration.biddingStrategyType,
I have also tried leaving that null and setting the biddingScheme to
manualCpm.
Everything that I try I get errors like
OperationAccessDenied.OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE @
operations[0].operand.biddingStrategyConfiguration.biddingStrategyType;
trigger:'DISPLAY'

On one level this makes perfect sense since the docs here say that this is
the case here

But then the adwords manager docs here say that cpm bidding is for display
here

I also have example campaigns that I can retrieve from the
campaignService.get that are advertisingChannelType display with
biddingStrategyType manual_cpm.

Any help on how to do this would be appreciated.

Thanks
Cory

Re: Why can't I get PAUSED, REMOVED campaigns from AdWords Report by using predicate?

2016-05-25 Thread 'Anthony Madrigal' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Ketaki,

So just to reiterate, if you use the fields *IsNegative *and *KeywordId*,
you will not see ads that have zero impressions. If a campaign is paused,
there is a high probability that the ads will not have any impressions.
Because of this, regardless of whether you include those fields or not, you
will not see the ads with zero impressions.

If you still have any concerns, please *reply privately to author *some

Hi Itay,

To properly understand the case, can you please confirm what conversion do
you see now, is it "test" or "test-old"?

In addition, please run the CLICK_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

check on the GclId

 and CampaignId
.

Then, use this information to run the CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

In this report, you can get the ConversionTypeName

name is uploaded.

Hi Joyce.
Thanks for the answer,

I just want to clarify my question again.

for example i started new conversion named 'test'
and than uploaded new conversion with specific gclid, date and value.

after couple of days i have changed the conversion name in adwords panel to
'test-old'
and started new conversion named 'test' again, and upload conversion with
the same parameters as the old conversion.

does google count this upload as duplicate conversion?

thanks again.

Unfortunately for v201603, it is still the case (for the workaround) as

Re: upcoming adwords policy name changes

2016-05-25 Thread 'Nadine Sundquist (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hello Peter,

There isn't a guarantee that the policy name plus the description are going
to be unique. One of the factors is localization. The description may
change to account for that. If you're looking for something unique, the
only value guaranteed to be unique is the key

.

First Example of Google Adwords API very very slow

2016-05-25 Thread gianluca . aec
I tried to make a first example of GetCampaings.php as the guide said.

It takes very long time to get my campaigns.

The code slow are:
1. download the wsdl
2. GenerateHttpHeaders
3. __soapCall --> it's slow but request time is nice (about 200ms)

It takes about 15 second to get 1 campaign (test).

There isn't connection problem.

Creating AdWords test account - loop?

2016-05-25 Thread zoran . adwords
Hey guys,

Because I'm waiting for developer token approval, I tried to create test
account (about 3, 4 different new, fresh Google accounts) to start making
calls to AdWords API with my test account. When I try to create test
account I get stuck in some kind of loop (I used the link in AdWords docs:
https://adwords.google.com/um/Welcome/Home?a=1=0#ta). I fill
everything that is required, click "Create test account" and it redirects
me back to https://adwords.google.com/um/Welcome/Home?a=1=0#ta. No
matter what I do, I get redirected back to start page and I'm really about
to give up.

I tried with this account I'm posting now - just created it few minutes
ago, before that I deleted all cookies, tried doing it with different
browsers etc.

Can you just please make this account "Test account" so I start testing my
app? (I'm already waiting for approval for over 2 weeks now without any
reply).

Best,

Zoran.

Why is getting structural information so slow?

2016-05-25 Thread Jason Stedman
Asker,

The report information you get is not up to the minute, it is aggregated over
time, but usually is about a day old. Processing has been done ahead of time to
make this data available for you. You can make a single request to retrieve all
of your keywords' data at once.

To get a single piece of data for a single keyword is also a request.

On the web(the API is a web service after all) each request takes set up and
teardown time. If you have 1000 keywords, retrieving them all individually
takes 1000 times the setup and teardown time as retrieving them all at once.

Think of it like moving to a new house. The single API call is like using a
small pickup truck with a 6 foot bed and packing everything yourself. You have
to drive back and forth many times, but you probably know where everything is
at all times. The report is like using a 26' moving truck and having help when
you pack. You might be able to get almost everything you need in a single trip
saving hours of driving time, but it all gets there! The drawback being you
have to unpack everything to find your hair drier.

As for using the report being subject to inconsistency, you are right but that
is the nature of the beast. If you are making all your changes using the API,
you should be able to update your local copy as you change things. If you also
have human users changing things in the AdWords UI, then you are going to have
inconsistency no matter what.

Re: Why can't I get PAUSED, REMOVED campaigns from AdWords Report by using predicate?

2016-05-25 Thread Ketaki
Hi Anthony,

I have excluded zero impression by setting *IncludeZeroImpressions* to
False in HTTP header.

*IsNegative *and *KeywordId* fields do not support zero impressions. But as
stated in documentation, "*Zero impression rows are implicitly excluded
when a report request contains any field that does not support zero
impressions.*".

So, with these fields also, report behavior will be same.

After removing fields KeywordId,Date,AdNetworkType2,IsNegative; I am
getting paused campaign (as given in private message), which has data for
columns - *Pages / visit *and *Avg. visit duration (seconds). *

So Do you have any idea why this row is getting excluded?

Thanks & Regards,
Ketaki.

Updating Text Ads once created

2016-05-25 Thread Alan Coleman
Hello everyone,

In 2013 Anash stated
 that
it's not possible to update Text Ads once created, and a copy / delete
strategy was suggested instead.

Is this still the case with v201603 ?

Many thanks

Re: Structured Snippet / Callout Ad Extension creating issue. "There was an error with your operation..."

2016-05-25 Thread Alex L.
Hi Joyce,
Thanks, that solved the problem!
I should have read documentation more carefully,
As for my code example if someone will need it, here is the part I missed:
// Map the FeedAttributeIds to the fieldId constants.
$textFieldMapping = new \AttributeFieldMapping();
$textFieldMapping->feedAttributeId = $savedFeed->attributes[0]->id;
$textFieldMapping->fieldId = 1;
$feedMapping = new \FeedMapping();
$feedMapping->placeholderType = $placeholderType;
$feedMapping->feedId = $savedFeed->id;
$feedMapping->attributeFieldMappings = [$textFieldMapping];

// additional field mapping attributes
if (self::EXT_SNIPPET == $type) {
$textFieldMapping2 = new \AttributeFieldMapping();
$textFieldMapping2->feedAttributeId = $savedFeed->attributes[1]->id;
$textFieldMapping2->fieldId = 2;
$feedMapping->attributeFieldMappings[] = $textFieldMapping2;
}

$operation = new \FeedMappingOperation();
$operation->operand = $feedMapping;
$operation->operator = 'ADD';
$operations = [$operation];
Thanks again!
