Re: How can i get the total number of active ads?

2018-06-13 Thread 'Dannison Yao (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Sarthak,

Unfortunately, the AdService

does
not have a filter for you to set for the ad status. However, you could use
the AdGroupAdService

 to
get the AdGroupAd.Status

 and
set it to *ENABLED. *If you just wish to retrieve a list of ENABLED ads,
you could use the AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

 and
set the Status

 field
to *ENABLED *only. This way, only ads that are ENABLED will be retrieved.

Let me know if you have further clarifications.

Regards,
Dannison

Re: Campaign Location Targeting

2018-06-13 Thread rob
Hi Peter,

Your respond does indeed tells me why the LocationName is 560068 but it
does not tell me why is this postal code part of the returned Locations. The
fact that this location is part of the returned values seems like a bug to
me because its LocationName, 560069, does not contain the search query
"hong" and "hong" does not appear in the represented address of the postal
code (560068,Karnataka,India) either, so I have the following questions:

   1. Is the query I used the correct way to find the Location with names
   containing "hong" in it?
   2. What is the logic behind the resultant value of postal code address
   Location "560068"?
   3. The fact that this location is part of the returned values seems like
a bug to me because its LocationName, 560068 which does not contain the
search query "hong"; and "hong" does not appear in the represented address
of the postal code (560068,Karnataka,India) either. Thus, is this return
   value a bug?
   4. It looks weird when I return results such as this to users, so if
this is a bug, will it be fixed any time soon?

Thanks,
Rob

Checking which GCLID had errors in API upload

2018-06-13 Thread kilian
Hi all

We recently started to upload offline conversions with the API.

We use the click GCLID to link it with our internal "conversion check" - if
the conversion happens internally, we then link that conversion back with
the unique GCLID.

The problem happens when, after this process, we upload the "successful"
conversions, with each gclid, to Adwords.

*We have found out that, for a particular day (i.e 13th June 2018) we
submitted 231 Conversions (with gclid) but google is reporting 227.*

How can we troubleshoot that?

-We cannot check which conversions did not get reported as we cannot check
the gclid of the 227 conversions on Adwords
-We cannot check by hour of the day or timestamps as Adwords does not tell
me that (as it is in All Conversions, rather than in "include in
conversions").

Any idea?
Many thanks for your help,
Kilian

How can i get the total number of active ads?

2018-06-13 Thread sarthakadwords111
Hi

i am working on MCC account and i want to get the total number of active
ads.

As per the UI (AdWord Dashboard) there are 2 options, one is *enable* and
second one is *pause*. I want all the ads that are *enable*.

Right now i am able to get list of client and its ids, and then i pass it
in PHP loop and use the AdService class to get the all ads, but there are
coming all ads not only the active ads.

Thanks
Sarthak

Re: Access multiple MCC accounts using AdWords API

2018-06-13 Thread API_DCH
Hi,

Thanks for your email.
Actually, I am using .net client library to access Adwords data, since we
have multiple MCC accounts, there are bunch of Client id's associated to
each MCC account. I have a table that contains each Client Id
and authentication details .
I have developed a C# program which will read all the accounts one by
one and retrieve AdWords data and store them in to local sql table. I have
single approved developer token. How can I access client account data that
belong to another MCC account. Is there any additional permission needs to
be setup in order to access data for the Client ID's that belongs to
another MCC account. Since there is not authorization I am receiving an
error "USER_PERMISSION_DENIED". Please provide me how to retrieve that data
or how to link the current token to another MCC accounts. I appreciate your
help and thanks in advance.

Thanks

Specific prince range using Ad Performance Report

Hello,

I am looking for a way to filter my Ad Performance Report based on a
certain criteria, such as only reporting ads that are above a certain Cost
Per Conversion threshold. What is the best way to go about doing this? I am
currently using tags such as AllConversions, CostPerConversion, and
ValuePerConversion.

Thanks,

Re: Can ads disappear after they have been removed?

2018-06-13 Thread 'Anash P. Oommen (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Zweitze,

The "disappeared ads" seems to be an issue at our end. The case you
mentioned is another possibility, but doesn't seem to be the root cause of
this issue as far as I can tell. I've pinged the team for updates, and will
share them as I hear back.

Cheers
Anash P. Oommen,
AdWords API Advisor.

 Hi Anash.

Thanks for the quick reply and clearing that up. It makes sense.

I will say that I've been using the API for years, and I've always
taken that page on id uniqueness to mean that we had to be careful within
our code and database to deal with the possibility that an ad id might be
reused across ad groups even within a single account -- as that's the way
the documentation reads to me. Maybe this is what you're saying you guys
are planning on doing, but it seems like a better way to do the
 documentation is to have
 https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/objects-methods
really list what it appears it's listing (what scope various ids are
 unique
within), and document in the individual SOAP services whether or not you
need to include something like AdGroupId in the get/set calls even though
something like the ad id might be globally unique itself.

So does this also mean that CriterionId (e.g. keyword and product
partition ids) are also globally unique, even though the documentation
 says
that the (AdGroupId, CriterionId) pair is what's globally unique (like it
does with the [AdGroupId, AdId] pair)?

 Thanks,
 Greg

Re: Access multiple MCC accounts using AdWords API

2018-06-13 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Sam,

The USER_PERMISSION_DENIED

 that
you are getting in the API is because there is no link between the manager
account authenticated in the request and the client account specified in
the headers. To check if manager account is linked with the client account,
could you please follow the two steps given below?

   1. Perform a CustomerService.getCustomers()

 and
check for the results. If you are using the credentials of a manager
account, it will list the MCC accounts and any other accounts that user has
   direct access to.
   2. You can then perform a ManagerCustomerService.get()

 for
the Manager account from results of step 1. The target account should be
listed in this call. If not, the credentials cannot access that account.

If you are still facing any issues, could you please share the SOAP request
and response logs along with CID and the email Id of the user
authenticating the API call? You could choose '*Reply privately to author*'
option while responding.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: Cannot get page feed from PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM_REPORT?

2018-06-13 Thread 'Sreelakshmi Sasidharan (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello,

You are right, using a start index greater than 100,000 will result in an
error. You could follow the steps listed below to use FeedItemService

 to
get all the FeedItems.

   1. Set a variable maxFeedItemId = -1
   2. Issue a get request with 'WHERE FeedItemId > maxFeedItemId ORDER BY
   FeedItemId LIMIT 0,1'
   3. Collect feedItemIds from the response from step #2.
   4. Set maxFeedItemId = the last (largest) feedItemId in the response
   from step #2.
   5. If the response from step #2 contained 10,000 items, repeat from step
   2.

Since the result is ordered by the feedItemId, this will allow you to get
all the FeedItems without encountering the START_INDEX_IS_TOO_HIGH error.
Please give this a try and let me know if you face any issues.

Thanks,
Sreelakshmi, AdWords API Team

Access multiple MCC accounts using AdWords API

2018-06-13 Thread API_DCH

Hello,

My company have multiple MCC accounts. We are planning to retrieve data
from Google Adwords account to generate some reports for internal use. I
applied and received a developer token for one of my MCC account. I can
retrieve AdWords data that belong to this account. In addition, I would
like to retrieve data that belongs to other MCC accounts. When I try it
says "USER_PERMISSION_DENIED".
How can I achieve this, I applied another token but was rejected because
only one token per entity allowed as per Google AdWords policy.
If anyone have the same situation please provide me the details how can I
retrieve data from multiple MCC account using a single developer token in
this case.

Is there any other ways to implement this. Please let me know. Thanks in
advance.

Regards

Sam

Re: Can ads disappear after they have been removed?

2018-06-13 Thread Zweitze
Hey Nadine,

Any updates?
I think I have an explanation - it's due to the possibility that now most
ad properties can be changed (until a few months ago only status could be
changed - for other changes you had to set the status to deleted and
created a new ad with the desired properties).
Our software always assumed this would not change, at least not in the API
version it was operating on.

But exactly that seems to happen: when you request (using an older API
version) an ad after it was changed, you will get an ad with the same ad id
and its new properties. I must say, I did not expect such behavior change.

Can you confirm this is the case? (All software using older API versions
should now be aware that most properties are no longer immutable). Was this
announced anywhere?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Ids and mutating ads

2018-06-13 Thread 'Anash P. Oommen (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Greg,

One instance I can think of is when you clone campaigns in the UI by
copy-paste. Ad IDs are reused AFAIK in that case.

 Hi Greg,

We need to update the Unique IDs documentation a bit, now that
AdService is available. The more detailed version is like this:

 - AdId represents a globally unique creative ID. This means that you
can edit an Ad using AdService using creativeId without any concern of ID
 collision.

 - AdGroupAd is a link that associates an Ad to an AdGroup. But we don't
expose an AdGroupAdId. You could use the pair (adgroupid, adid) as a proxy
ID for AdGroupAd. Hence our warning that when querying using
AdGroupAdService.get, you should not consider adId to be a unique Id, you
should rather use the pair (adgroupid, adid) as a unique pair.

So, you are fine if you follow these guidelines:

 1. When using AdGroupAdService.get, use (adGroupid, adId) as a unique
 ID for querying purposes.
 2. When using AdService.mutate, use adId as a unique ID for updating
 the ad.

 Hope this helps?

 Cheers

 AdWords API Advisor.

Running GetCampaigns works but not GetAdGroups

2018-06-13 Thread szusi
Hello, while running some of the examples, I have found that running
GetCampaigns works and returns the expected result, however, GetAdGroups
returns with no adGroups found, even though I have an adGroup. Please let
me know what the best way to solve this problem is.

Re: Can ads disappear after they have been removed?

2018-06-13 Thread Zweitze
Hi Nadine,

Any updates? I have a few more missing ads:
Group 51744783117: Ads 250529940411, 250529940414, 250529940417
Group 51744783317: Ads 250529940429, 250529940432, 250529940435
Group 51744783357: Ads 250529940438, 250529940441, 250529940444

These ads were created on Feb 9, and on May 17 the campaign manager changed
the ads: he changed the desktop url.
>From May 18 these ads stopped appearing in AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT (with zero
imporessions).

The """changed""" could be the important thing here. This was not supported
until quite recently and only the most recent API (released a week ago)
supports ad changing. How are ad changes reported in older API versions?

Well glad it's not just me, not glad that either of us have to deal
with this. I am still getting these errors intermittently. Are they
always called? or do they show up intermittently for you as well?

This code works fine:

ProductPartitionTree partitionTree =
ProductPartitionTree.createAdGroupTree(adWordsServices,
session, data.getAdGroupId());

ProductPartitionNode partitionNode = partitionTree
.getRoot()
.asSubdivision();

ProductOfferId emptyDimensionType = new ProductOfferId();
ProductOfferId dimensionType =
ProductDimensions.createOfferId(data.getProductId());

partitionNode
.addChild(dimensionType)
.setBid(data.getBid())
.asBiddableUnit();

partitionNode

.asExcludedUnit();

Using Api to link multiple YouTube channels to AdWords

2018-06-13 Thread ngetahuntv
Hi,

I'm posting to see if any one has figured out a way to link multiple
YouTube channels to AdWords. I'm mostly interested in this in order to
create a Call to Action your the videos.
We have several channels and hundreds of AdWords accounts so manually doing
it would be a nightmare.
If someone has a better way, please let me know!

Thank you,
Natan

Hi Peter,

Is there any update on this? These columns are available in the equivalent
AdWords interface report for product groups, it seems odd that they aren't
available in the API. They would help a lot in my current project.

Re: Campaign Location Targeting

2018-06-13 Thread 'Peter Oliquino (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Rob,

The reason you are getting the *560068* value as the *LocationName* because
when you refer to the Geo Targeting Spreadsheet

 and
filter using *Criteria ID = 9062009*, you will see that its value in the
*Name* field is indeed *560068*. It is a *TargetType = Postal Code*, hence,
its Name will represented by its exact zip/postal code.

I hope this has been helpful.

Thanks and regards,
Peter
