RE: Migration from AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT to ad_group_ad

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi Miryam,

Thank you for posting your concern.

Upon checking your query, I can see that you've included the segments.date and
this is the possible reason why your are retrieving this set of data. However,
this is the expected result as segment fields such as segments.date will break
down the ads' metrics per date. This behavior is also applicable to
AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT that when including segment field, it will returns
duplicate records for the same ad.id, but each with different data.

Yet, the data and information of ad_group_ad and AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT should
be matched.

But to confirm if this is indeed the scenario, could you provide the following
details via Reply privately to author option?

Complete report definition that you've used in the AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
Complete request and response logs with request ID generated on your end for
ad_group_ad
Customer ID of the Google Ads account where you are generating report

Thanks for posting your concern.

Please provide the following details to further investigate the issue:

Please clarify if you are using AdWords API or Google Ads API when you

Re: Google Ads API - Reports Metrics variation for past days on subsequent Report Runs

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi Andrea,

Thank you for your follow up. I work with Matt and allow me to assist you.

The API's reports should return only what has been processed or calculated by
Google Ads and values should be similar to values from their equivalent UI
view. Both UI and API reports should also follow the timeline outlined in the
article earlier provided by Matt, in regards to your statistics' availability.

That said, could you confirm if there are differences between values from the
UI and the API's reports? If there are, could you provide the complete GAQL you
used, the complete request and response logs, with the request-id, and also the
Google Ads UI screenshot?

If you haven't yet, logging can be enabled by navigating to the Client
libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging documentation, which you
can access from this link. You may then send the requested information via the
Reply privately to author option. If this option is not available, you may send
the details directly to our googleadsapi-supp...@google.com alias instead.

Otherwise, the changes in the values you are experiencing could be due to
internal processes, which may included adjustments (discussed in the data
freshness article), that can be further explained by the Google Ads Product
Support team.

RE: Responses in CSV format for Google Ads API ?

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi Sam and Pete,

@Pete, thank you for providing your insights here.

@Sam, the API response is indeed returned in JSON format only. With this, you
will need to create a preprocess on your end that after receiving the API
responses, it will transfer the data to a CSV.

Re: How can I create ResponsiveDisplayAd inside of smart shopping campaign via Google Ads API?

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi Yoshie,

I work with William and let me provide support to your concern.

Based on the Key section of this document, the responsive display ads can be
added to standard Display campaigns and Smart Display campaigns using API.
However, the smart shopping campaign is not mentioned so it is not possible
also to create responsive display ads here using API.

Yet, so that our team can raise a feature request to my team for this, could
you provide the document saying that it is possible to create this type of ad
under smart shopping campaign? Also, you may try to create it manually and
provide its ad Id and the campaign ID of the smart shopping campaign where it
is created.

Please provide the requested details via Reply privately to author option.

How to link Ads with Asset and MediaFile

2021-06-23 Thread TUNG NGUYEN THANH
Hi

I'm using Google Ads Api for getting ads report and creative (image,
video...)
I want to show ads report with it own creative (image, video) but cannot
find the best way to mapping report with asset, mediafile.

I researched about ad_group_ad_asset_view

,
it can mapping ad_group_ad
 with
asset  by the
ad id, but it only support AppAds

.
I also research about media_file
 but
cannot find the best way to mapping it with ad_group_ad
.
ad_group_ad
 report
returns various  AdType

 with
difference format of creative, any good advice for making a "ad format"
table which can mapping ad_group_ad
 with
asset  and
media_file
 ?

Exclude resourceName from response

2021-06-23 Thread Zhisheng Zhou
Hi. Team.
Is there a way to exclude resourceName field from response(Google Ads API)?

*My Request body* is something like:

{
 "page_size": 10,
  "query": "SELECT customer.id,customer.descriptive_name,segments.date
FROM click_view  WHERE segments.date =
'2021-06-01'",
  "return_total_results_count": "true",
  "validate_only": "false"
}

*And the response* is like:
{
  "customer": {
   "resourceName": "customers/111",
   "id": "111",
   "descriptiveName": "LSS - EMEA"
   },
  "segments": {
   "date": "2021-06-01"
   },
  "clickView": {
"resourceName":
"customers/111/clickViews/2021-06-01~Cj0KCQjwIsAJeDT0g---0zk2KJ5E1swerwersfsfsTkTDpBomqw7uJ2AT-SZSqhusRWECScB"
  }
}

As you can see, even I don't have resourceName in the query.
They still appear in the response.
I am trying to minimize the response size.
Is there an option to disable that?

Best,
Zhisheng

Re: AdWordsApiException - InternalApiError.UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR

2021-06-23 Thread John Miner

Pete,

Thanks for the reply. Our last error appeared at 10:58pm CT, and I've been
keeping an eye on it all day, but haven't seen any more. Looks like it
resolved itself. Mostly wanted to make sure it wasn't something wrong on
our end, and looks like it wasn't. Thanks for helping confirm this!

Re: question about campaign recommendations through the API

2021-06-23 Thread Pete Lavetsky (AdWords API Guru)
Hey there,

I'm pretty sure recommendations were in V6. They're definitely in V8 as
well as V7.

It's possible ( but unlikely ) there's no recommendations for the customer
you're querying.

This query string should work:

select recommendation.ad_group,
recommendation.call_extension_recommendation,
recommendation.callout_extension_recommendation, recommendation.campaign,
recommendation.campaign_budget,
recommendation.campaign_budget_recommendation, recommendation.dismissed,
recommendation.enhanced_cpc_opt_in_recommendation,
recommendation.forecasting_campaign_budget_recommendation,
recommendation.impact, recommendation.keyword_match_type_recommendation,
recommendation.keyword_recommendation,
recommendation.marginal_roi_campaign_budget_recommendation,
recommendation.maximize_clicks_opt_in_recommendation,
recommendation.maximize_conversions_opt_in_recommendation,
recommendation.move_unused_budget_recommendation,
recommendation.optimize_ad_rotation_recommendation,
recommendation.resource_name,
recommendation.responsive_search_ad_recommendation,
recommendation.search_partners_opt_in_recommendation,
recommendation.sitelink_extension_recommendation,
recommendation.target_cpa_opt_in_recommendation,
recommendation.target_roas_opt_in_recommendation,
recommendation.text_ad_recommendation, recommendation.type from
recommendation

Hope that helps

Pete

question about campaign recommendations through the API

2021-06-23 Thread RealDigiAds Inc.
We are trying to set up Google campaign recommendations in order to
optimize campaigns. We are getting an empty response when we try to get
recommendations:

Do we need to upgrade to the newest API version to get this information?

Thank you

final String conversionDateTime = ZonedDateTime.of(conversion.getDateTime(),

RE: Some questions about download performance report via google ads api restful endpoint

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi Daniel,

Thank you for reaching out to Google Ads API support. Download formats states
"The API does not support formatting or file output". There are examples there
of outputting client side the desired format. There are standard libraries
available in any popular language to convert output from JSON to any popular
format, the non string format and multi level JSON can easily be taken care of
with those libraries. Can you state your use case, particularly your design
constraints?

"SELECT campaign.id, "

+ "segments.hour "

+ "WHERE segments.date DURING LAST_30_DAYS AND metrics.all_conversions>0";

UploadOfflineConversion: How to send ConversionDateTime in click conversion

2021-06-23 Thread Priya Sharma
I am using the date in UTC or ETC/GMT which was working fine with adwords
API, but according to the new google Ads API I get the below error.

"The string date time's format should be -mm-dd hh:mm:ss+|-hh:m., at
conversions[0].conversion_date_time"

In adwords API, I used as below:
ConversionDateTime= ConversionTime.Value.ToString("MMdd HHmmss") + "
Etc/GMT"

Please advise how to use this in google Ads API.

 We put V8 into production earlier today. Everything was fine for about
 6.5 hours and then we started seeing an increased rate of
 DEADLINE_EXCEEDED

 Our GrpcCallContext is configured for a 5m timeout and that's been fine
 for months

 I reverted back to V7 and we haven't seen a DEADLINE_EXCEEDED for the
 last 20 minutes but I'm not sure if that proves anything

 Is it perhaps a transient issue on Google's end for maintenance work
 around increased capacity for V8?

 Here's the traceroute ... we've been asked to provide this before when
 we witnessed a much higher rate of DEADLINE_EXCEEDED

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi everyone,

For the original poster in this thread, could you share the documentation you
were referring to when you mentioned "when step 3 Configure request to API"?

Moving forward to the DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PARAMETER_MISSING issue, could you
confirm if you have indeed specified or included a developer token in your
request header? For reference, you can check out this guide regarding the
parameters you will need to include in your API request.

RE: Age report missing data

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi,

Thank you for your questions.

The campaign report aggregates all the metrics (ex. impressions) accumulated at
the campaign level. Meaning, this report should contain as well the metrics
from all other criteria (if other types are also being targeted) that triggered
the ads under the said campaign.

On the other hand, the age_range_view will only return statistics aggregated at
the age range criterion. I hope this helps.

Re: campaign groups - how to get them and relate to campaigns in google ads api

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi Tom,

If you want to get this information, then the only workaround that we can
suggest is via UI. If you want to know more information on how to get this
information via UI, then I would suggest reaching out to the product via this
link.

As for this question, I am afraid our team doesn't have access to the plan and
timeline for specific feature. With this, I highly recommend to keep an eye on
our blog as we will post there any relevant updates about this.
"will this feature actually sunset in about a year unless you will revive it in
google ads?"

RE: API Support for AdGroup's Targeting expansion?

2021-06-23 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hello there,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I've tried to navigate on your provided navigation steps; however, can't find
on the AdGroup's Targeting expansion settings. Could you share a screenshot via
Reply privately to author option instead?

As an aside, I've checked on our documentation and found this
ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting which is related to targeting expansion. If this
is what you're looking for, you can use the MutateAdGroups then under the
AdGroup, you can find the ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting.

Hope this helps.
