Since you mentioned that a production developer token is the only one working 
for you when accessing an account, it seems that the account that you're trying 
to access is not a test account. You may refer to this link to learn more on 
the access levels of developer tokens and the type of accounts that they can 
access. You can refer to the instructions in the same link if you want to apply 
for a higher access level.


If you think the developer token is not the issue, please provide the complete 
request and response logs with request ID where you can retrieve data as well 
as the complete request and response logs where you are encountering an issue

Thanks for suggestion. 

1. It working if I set 'Shop now' or 'Learn more', etc words in call to 
action text. But Google Ads Web UI shows Automatic also as 1st option. How 
it can work through ads PHp API?

2. I have to set call to action text for 2 languages English & Arabic so 
Should I add 2 times 'call_to_action_text' => 'Shop Now' & 
'call_to_action_text' =>  تسوق الآن
or is there any other way to pass both values?

3. In Responsive Display Ad, there are 2 more optional parameters as :
'price_prefix' => 'as low as', 'promo_text' => 'Free shipping!'
I tried them to pass API but it doesn't reflected after display ad created 
at Google ads web UI.

Moving forward, I would recommend that you refer to our reach forecasting 
guide, to check whether this suits your requirement. From the guide, it states 
that :

Media planners can use the service to answer questions such as:

How much investment on YouTube would it take to meet a campaign's reach goals?
How much of a target audience could a campaign reach for a given budget?
What is the optimal budget allocation between YouTube and other media channels 
if I have a campaign optimizing for reach?

Customer Match Upload via UI vs API

Hi all! 

I have a large gaming client who wants to upload same set of audience list 
in Facebook in Google Ads. 

However, when they attempt to upload the lists, this 
 happens. The larger the 
list, the more frequent the fail rate. We understand that the list has a 
file size limit of 500 GB and the list definitely didnt hit it yet. 

 Just to re-iterate, the same list was able to be uploaded in Facebook 
without fail. 

Just wanted to check if using Google Ads API to upload may have a higher 
success rate? And if anyone here have clients using the API to upload large 
lists on a weekly or monthly basis please let me know!

As per the data attribute documentation, the information to be passed should be 
"Raw image data as bytes.". That said, and as we are not familiar with all the 
available methods from the client libraries, could you provide more details on 
what the file_get_contents() outputs?

well the complete request and response logs, with the request-id, generated 
when the error occurred?

If you haven't yet, you can enable logging by referring to this PHP client 
library guide. You may then send the requested information via the Reply 
privately to author option. If this option is not available, you may send the

Due to business needs, we have increased the request interval for 
Google Ads report data from once an hour to once every 10 minutes.Since 
then, our reporting tasks have been stuck almost every day.The total number 
of advertising accounts we request each time is around 20,000, and the peak 
number of concurrent requests is 200. Excuse me, does google have any 
restrictions on this? For example, the request interval and the number of 
concurrency?

All the location criteria are spread out across fields that contain in their 
name 'location_of_presence' or 'area_of_interest'. Any audience or other user 
interest gets the direct RESOURCE_NAME of the user list instead of a criterion 
Id in the field 'user_list'. The kkeyword is given in the report instead of the 
criterion Id for the keyword. Criterion Id for the keyword can be matched with 
a keyword in keyword_view. Feel free to get back to us.

receive support from product support. Here's a guide to data freshness.

If you are experiencing a discrepancy between the UI and your API report, could 
you privately send us a request and response log of API communication of the 
report, combined with a screenshot of the equivalent report in the UI that is 
segmented the same, filtered the same and taken at the same time that the API 
report is pulled?

A request looks like the 3rd section in request and a response looks similar to 
response. Logging instructions are in the read.me on Github of each client 
library.

Is there a reason you aren't using bulk mutates using GoogleAdsService.Mutate 
instead? Cancelling a job is not currently supported.

For the batch jobs that is pending, could you privately send us a request and 
response log of API communication that returns this?

The request and response appears similar to the JSON Mappings in our REST 
documentation. Our client libraries have loggers with logging instructions, to 
see these instructions you can click on the client library you use in the 
sidebar of our client library guide and click on "Logging". Setting the logger 
to 'DEBUG' will get the desired log.

Retrieving Draft/Experiment Ad Groups

Hello,

I am currently using the API to create and update Campaign Experiments. I 
would like to update draft content in the Ad Group and Ad, however am 
running into trouble programmatically retrieving the identifiers of the 
draft Ad Group to perform modifications. When I create a new draft Campaign 
I am able to see that a new Ad Group is created from looking in the 
console, however when I query the ad_group view I only see the original Ad 
Group and not the draft. The same issue happens when I create an experiment 
as the experiment's Ad Groups do not show up in the ad_group view either. I 
am performing the below query that includes no filters:

SELECT
ad_group.id,
ad_group.resource_name,
ad_group.name,
ad_group.status,
ad_group.tracking_url_template,
ad_group.final_url_suffix,
ad_group.type,
campaign.id
FROM ad_group

Is there another way that I am supposed to be able to programmatically 
retrieve the identifiers of child objects of a draft campaign?

Re: Regarding the Google Ads API client library fo Go language

Hi Ernie thank you kindly for the reply.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to create the Go library from the proto files. 
I tried it using bezel, but it didn't seem to generate a Go library, and 
protoc, but was unable to give that command the full v9 directory as an 
input. For now I am using the repo which Shinta kindly posted above (
https://github.com/dictav/go-genproto-googleads) which uses v8 and is 
flagged as experimental.
Until the client library is released, would it please be possible to get 
some official instructions about how to do this (Ubuntu 20.04)?

Test developer token not working

I am having issues in fetching data using test developer token. I have 
generated oauth2 refresh token for my test manager account , and trying to

Test Developer Token Not working

Hello Team,

I have generated oauth2 refresh token for my test manager account , and 
trying to fetch customer information using test developer token but I am 
not getting any data.

similar way if I use production developer token for same refresh token then 
data is retrieving from api , could you please let me know what the reason 
behind this?

anything am I doing wrong?

I am using PHP Programming language.

Please advice.

Campaign Status

I am getting campaign.status values as 2 in response to query.
campaign.status values are enable paused and removed in campaign table.
So my question what value 2 signifies , enabled paused or removed?

There doesn't seem to be an error in the partial response you sent me.

My guess is nothing is returning since AdGroup is a segmenting resource in 
ad_group_asset, if there are no metrics no rows will be returned.

For me to diagnose definitively, could you privately provide us with the log of 
request and response to the API?

Ok for some reason, the .list() method to get all the available datasets 
doesn't return all the datasets. Maybe there is a limit on how many results 
get returned...

I had used .get() method instead to get the dataset I need.

I still would like to know why list all of a sudden failed to work..

API returns results in JSON, and you can process it however you wish.

With that being said, I was able to modify the GetKeywordStats.java sample to 
print out the JSON of the stream with this modification:

Changing Standard Bidding Strategy Type using API

Hi, 

I am trying to change the bidding strategy type of a campaign through API 
call. My campaign currently has a MANUAL_CPC Bidding strategy and I am 
trying to change it to TARGET_SPEND (Standard Bidding Strategy). I set the 
bidding strategy type field and target spend in Campaign Object. 
My campaign Operation looks like below:

1. Upon checking the log’s you’ve provided with us, it appears that you’ve 
added Automated as call_to_action_text. Could you replace it with “shop now” 
and retry your request? Let us know how this goes after.

2. Kindly note that Responsive display ads allow you to specify call-to-action

Issue uploading Image Ads

I'm trying to create an Image Ad inside an ad group. Here is my code (php):

I've attached the error as a separate file.

It seems to have to do with the 'data' attribute in the ImageAdInfo class, 
the error being adError: EMPTY_FIELD on the data attribute, reading: 'A 
required field was not specified or is an empty string.'.

I'm passing binary data (using file_get_contents()) as explained can be 
done here:

But does not work. Any clue?

Keyword PolicyViolationDetails in BatchJobService

If we create keywords using BatchJobService we got only information about 
policy violation, without PolicyViolationKey, so we cant send Policy 
Exemption Requests.
Batch job result contains something like this:

Criteria Id for each click in click_view

Good day!
I have the following question:
we need to find the following parameter for each click:

   - CriteriaId

As I understood, I need to use click_view resource for it.

Previously in v8 API we used ClickPerformanceReport (
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/click-performance-report)
 
and we have no any problems to get this parameter.
In new v9 API it is clear for me how to get it. 
Could you explain me, how I can get:

   - CriteriaId 

for each click? Report ( 
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v9/click_view?hl=en#click_view.keyword_info.text
 ) 
have no answer on these questions.

If now this parameter is spread among different resources, explain, please, 
how to get it. Probably you can provide some examples.

Hello,

thank you for fast response,

When I was investigating request and response I found out that when I set 
`campaign.url_expansion_opt_out = true` then Ruby library will add 
correctly update mask and it updates correctly in Google Ads. 

Then when I need to set `campaign.url_expansion_opt_out = false` then Ruby 
library will not add correctly update mask because url_expansion_opt_out is 
by default false :/ I need to add update mask by myself to operation and 
then it works.

So sorry for taking your time it was my mistake.

[Adwords API] - Adgroup Performance Report returns "--" for SearchImpressionShare

Dear Adwords API support team,

Firstly, I know that The AdWords API will sunset on April 27, 2022 and I 
should change to use Google Ads API. But we still support AdWords API for 
our customer until the sunset date.

About my question, in Adgroup Performance Report document

I can see that the value of SearchImpressionShare can be a percentage 
returned as "xx.xx%", or the special value "< 10%". So, please clarify me 
below issues:
1. Beside above two value formats, I also see the SearchImpressionShare 
returns "--". Is it normal or abnormal case?
2. From about 2021-11-12 04:00:00 JST to 2021-11-12 06:00:00 JST, when I 
send request to fetch report data for 2021-11-11, the value of 
SearchImpressionShare in many ad accounts ONLY RETURNS "--" (two another 
fields have the same issue, such as: SearchRankLostImpressionShare, Search 
abs. top IS). After that, this issue can not be reproduce until now. So, 
does Adwords API has trouble at that period time or what happened? I am 
scared that this issue will be occurred in the future without our control.

Batch Job Service in Google Ads API

Hi Team,

I am planning to use the batch job service for Google Ads API. I have few 
queries related to the same : 

1. Some of the jobs have reached to terminal state i.e. DONE/FAILED, but 
there are still some jobs which are in PENDING state for that batch. At 
this time will the status of Batch Job be Success or PENDING?
2. Some of the jobs have reached to terminal state i.e. DONE/FAILED, but 
there are still some jobs which are in PENDING state for that batch. At 
this time, I want to cancel all the PENDING Jobs in that batch, is it 
possible?
3. Some of the jobs have reached to terminal state i.e. DONE/FAILED, but 
there are still some jobs which are in PENDING state for that batch. At 
this time what will happen if I cancel all the jobs of that batch, Will the 
DONE jobs be rollback?
