Are "Promotional offers applied" available via the Ads API?

2022-12-16 Thread mha...@simplepart.com
Is it possible to retrieve "promotional offers applied" for an MCC account
via the Ads API? I'm referring to the data that's visible in the Google
Ads UI when you navigate to "Partners program" in the menu on the left hand
side and have the "Promotional offers" radio button on that page set to
"On". The table of data under "Promotional offers applied" -- Account,
Promotion, Status, Claimed, Amount Credited, Credit applied -- is what I'm
interested in. Can't find anything in the API documentation or the forum
about this. Thank you.

RE: What is the difference between ad_group_ad.ad.final_urls and ad_group_criterion.final_urls?

2022-12-16 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Nelson,

This guide discusses what final URLs are for and here, on which entities these
can be applied to.

For discussing Google Ads concepts such as the relevance of these URLs in
either ads or ad group criteria, I would once more recommend reaching out to
the Google Ads Product Support team for guidance.

This is because our API support team specializes in the implementation /
troubleshooting of Google Ads API features, and the Product Support team should
be more equipped in discussing the design on the how and why these upgraded
URLs are associated to Google Ads entities.

Hi Amitha,

Thank you for your reply and for the additional details you have provided.

The "Method not found: 'System.AppDomainSetup
System.AppDomain.get_SetupInformation()'." error does not appear to be an API's
service's error and seems to be related to the configuration of the client
library you are using.

Based on your code and seeing that you appear to be using this C# example, I
would recommend that you reach out to their client library owners via this

RE: What are the possible reasons why I cannot reproduce a UI report, which, in theory, can be reproduced with the landing_page_view?

Hi Nelson,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

1. Why is there a difference between the API and UI reports/data? To

and response logs, with the request-id? If you haven't yet, logging can be
enabled by navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex. Java)

2. What does the API do that the UI doesn't and vice-versa (for this specific
report)? Could you please provide full screen screenshot of the UI of what you
are looking for?

3. What should I change in my query in order to reproduce exactly the UI report
above?
I can confirm here your query is correct.

You can provide it via Reply privately to author option. If this option is not
available, you may send the details directly to our

Re: Why is the "creative quality score" (aka ad relevance) associated with an ad group criterion?

2022-12-16 Thread Nelson Brochado
Alright, thanks for all the help.

If "the API only mirrors what is available in the Google Ads UI", then what
kind of UI reports could we reproduce with
ad_group_criterion.quality_info.creative_quality_score

 and
why did you add this property to ad_group_criterion? That's something that
it's still unclear after many questions. We can create UI reports with the
ad group and ad relevance column in the UI. We can also add the column
"ad". In my specific case, the report slightly increased in terms of rows.
If the GADs mirrors what the UI can do, then it must be possible to
recreate e.g. a report with columns "ad group", "ad relevance" and "ad"
with the API, even if we need to get the data from different resources,
which we would definitely need now, because "ad" and "ad relevance" cannot
be retrieved from the same resource: this is not a problem - as long as we
can recreate the UI report, even if we have to merge data from different
sources, that's fine to me - I just would like to understand how to merge
that data and how the API maps to the UI.

Thanks.

In order for our team to provide other possible recommendations, could you

Re: Why is the "creative quality score" (aka ad relevance) associated with an ad group criterion?

2022-12-16 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Nelson,

Thank you for your reply.

You may refer below for my responses to the items you sent over :

1. I was told by a Google Ads team member that the "ad relevance" can be
different for each ad in the same ad group and
2. why the Google Ads API does not provide a way to get this "ad relevance" for
each ad

For 1 and 2, our API support team unfortunately does not have visibility on how
Google Ads computes or associates ad relevance to each ad. This topic is best
discussed by the Product experts from the Product support team. I did, however,
find this Product article about quality score and a brief discussion on how ad
relevance factors in to the said score.

As to why the Google Ads API does not associate this for each ad, or rather at
the ad level, in its reports (ex. ad_group_ad), the API only mirrors what is
available in the Google Ads UI. If a UI report or view provides this
information, you can send to our team the complete screenshot of the UI view so
our team can then use it as reference to create a feature request, subject for
review, for this to be supported in the API's reports.

3. What does ad_group_criterion.quality_info.creative_quality_score? Is it an
average of all "ad relevances" associated with some keyword? I know that the ad
relevance is computed as a function of the ad and the exact keywords that match
the ad, so it's possible this is some kind of average. Can you clarify this?

As for this item, the information our team has on this field (and how this is
calculated) is limited to the details provided in the API documentation. Allow
me to raise this item to the rest of our team for further insights.

Best regards,

Peter Laurence

Generating Forecast Metrics Returns "-1" For keyword_plan_campaign in "Campaign_Forecasts"

2022-12-16 Thread Michael Leone
Hello,

I'm trying to utilize the generate_forecast_metrics function under the
keywordPlanService via python and it's returning inconsistent results. I
create a keyword_plan, added it to a created keyword_plan_campaign and
ad_group and tried generating the metrics following the instructions here
.

However, under the "metrics.campaign_forecasts" it provides a "-1" for the
"keyword_plan_campaign" associated with it. Also the data is inconsistent
with what is appearing in the UI. Not entirely sure why this is happening,
or if I missed something..

I attached the request and response details to this message.

What is the difference between ad_group_ad.ad.final_urls and ad_group_criterion.final_urls?

2022-12-16 Thread Nelson Brochado
Hello.

My understanding is that an *ad group criterion* can be applied to an *ad
group* and, in the Google Ads API, we can have criteria of type
"keyword".The concept of "ad group criteria" doesn't seem to exist in
Google Ads but just in the API. So, my conclusion is that we can say that
we have "keyword criteria".

The documentation describes *ad_group_ad.ad.final_urls*

as follows

*The list of possible final URLs after all cross-domain redirects for the
ad.*

while it describes *ad_group_criterion.final_urls*

as

*The list of possible final URLs after all cross-domain redirects for the
ad.*

So, *according to the documentation, there's no difference, but how is this
possible and in which sense they are not different? In general, how are
these 2 related? *

*What does ad_group_criterion.final_urls actually represent?*

The ad_group resource doesn't actually provide the field final_urls, but
it's provided by the ad_group_criterion. For some unknown (to me) reason,
ad_group only provides final_url_suffix.

So, it seems that it makes sense to have "final URLs" at the "ad group
criterion" and "ad" level. To me, it makes sense that we have a URL at the
ad level, but it's unclear what *ad_group_criterion.final_urls *actually
represents and how it relates to *ad_group_ad.ad.final_urls.* Can you
clarify this?

Thanks.

Re: What are the possible reasons why I cannot reproduce a UI report, which, in theory, can be reproduced with the landing_page_view?

2022-12-16 Thread Nelson Brochado
I forgot to mention that, before comparing the API and UI reports, I am
dropping all rows where the metrics are all zero. This makes the API report
still have 7491 rows (so the API doesn't return, at least in this case,
rows where all metrics are zero), while the UI reports now has 7458 rows.
Note 7491 - 7458 = 33, hence the 33 rows in the API report that are not
found in the UI report. In fact, these 33 rows do not have all metrics
equal to zero. In particular, it seems that the clicks are not equal to
zero, but all other metrics are.

Upload hash email for CRM-UserList using google ads api

2022-12-16 Thread Small Sun
Hi Team,

I am trying to upload 1,000,000 hash emails for a CRM userlist via Google
Ads API, and a hash email represent a customer. I noticed that Doc says :
AddOfflineUserDataJobOperationsRequest

 can
contain at most 100,000 identifiers across all of the UserData objects in
the operations.

So if I want to upload 1,000,000 hash emails via Google Ads API, is below
code right to implement this scenario? we create offlineUserDataJob once,
and call AddOfflineUserDataJobOperations function 100 times to add all
1,000,000 hash emails to offlineUserDataJob, and then call
RunOfflineUserDataJob function.

If I am wrong, please correct me. Thanks very much.

// Issues a request to create the offline user data job.
CreateOfflineUserDataJobResponse response1 =
service.CreateOfflineUserDataJob(
customerId.ToString(), offlineUserDataJob);
string offlineUserDataJobResourceName = response1.ResourceName;

for(int i=0; i< 100; i++)
{
AddOfflineUserDataJobOperationsRequest request =
new AddOfflineUserDataJobOperationsRequest()
{
ResourceName = offlineUserDataJobResourceName,
Operations = { BuildOfflineUserDataJobOperations() },
// BuildOfflineUserDataJobOperations function will
generate 100,000 OfflineUserDataJobOperations
EnablePartialFailure = true,
};
// Issues a request to add the operations to the offline user
data job.
AddOfflineUserDataJobOperationsResponse response2 =
service.AddOfflineUserDataJobOperations(request);
}
  Operation operationResponse =

service.RunOfflineUserDataJob(offlineUserDataJobResourceName);

Re: Why is the "creative quality score" (aka ad relevance) associated with an ad group criterion?

2022-12-16 Thread Nelson Brochado
Hi Peter,

I've reached out to the Google Ads Team. I was told that the "ad relevance"
may be different for each ad in the same ad group, so my assumption that
all ads in the same ad group have the same "ad relevance" is wrong. If
that's correct, then what exactly does
ad_group_criterion.quality_info.creative_quality_score

 represent?
The Google Ads documentation indeed says that the quality score is computed
at the keyword level, so one would expect it to be found in the
keyword_view or ad_group_criterion, but then I don't understand why

1. I was told by a Google Ads team member that the "ad relevance" can be
different for each ad in the same ad group and
2. why the Google Ads API does not provide a way to get this "ad relevance"
for each ad
3. What does ad_group_criterion.quality_info.creative_quality_score
?

Is it an average of all "ad relevances" associated with some keyword? I
know that the ad relevance is computed as a function of the ad and the
exact keywords that match the ad, so it's possible this is some kind of
average. Can you clarify this?

Kind regards
Nelson

setting the CURL time out on the google Ads Client

2022-12-16 Thread roliver
Is it possible to set the CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT and CURLOPT_TIMEOUT after
or during the creation of a google ads client. See the example of how I am
creating a client currently.

$oAuth2Credential = (new
OAuth2TokenBuilder())->fromFile(self::API_INI_FILE)->build();

$googleAdsClient = (new GoogleAdsClientBuilder())
->fromFile(self::API_INI_FILE)
->withOAuth2Credential($oAuth2Credential)
->withLogger($logger)
->build();

There are no methods, at least I can't find any, that allows me to set
these options like so
$googleAdsClient->setDefaultOption('CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT', 100);
$googleAdsClient->setDefaultOption('CURLOPT_TIMEOUT', 2000);

Can it be done in the google_ads_ini.php? If so how? Links docs would
greatly be appreciated.

Additional context:
I am using the batch service to create Geo Targeting mutation operations.
Every so often the batch resource reports back with a curl timeout error.

What are the possible reasons why I cannot reproduce a UI report, which, in theory, can be reproduced with the landing_page_view?

2022-12-16 Thread Nelson Brochado
Hi guys.

I'm trying to reproduce the following Google Ads UI report.

[image: mobile.png]

In theory, as far as I understand, this report can be reproduced with the
landing_page_view. Please, correct me if I am wrong here, because this is
my assumption.

Unfortunately, I was not yet able to fully reproduce this UI (with Google
Ads API v12) with the following query

SELECT
landing_page_view.unexpanded_final_url,
campaign.name,
campaign.status,
ad_group.name,
ad_group.status,
metrics.speed_score,
metrics.mobile_friendly_clicks_percentage,
metrics.clicks,
metrics.impressions,
metrics.ctr
FROM landing_page_view
WHERE
segments.date BETWEEN '2022-10-01' AND '2022-11-12'
AND
campaign.status = ENABLED
AND
ad_group.status = ENABLED

I get *7491* rows, which are the same number of rows I find in the UI
report (see the screenshot). However, after having compared the 2 data
frames (I'm using pandas), it seems that there are *33* rows returned by
the API that are not found in the UI report, and I can't really explain why.

So, here are my questions

*1. Why is there a difference between the API and UI reports/data?*

*2. What does the API do that the UI doesn't and vice-versa (for this
specific report)? *

*3. What should I change in my query in order to reproduce exactly the UI
report above?*

The only advice given in the Google Ads API documentation

that I found regarding possible differences is that the UI implicitly
filters REMOVED campaigns and so we should also ignore them, but, as you
can see above, I am only selecting ENABLED campaigns, so this is not the
problem.

Note: if I use an older GAD API version (specifically, v11), I get even
more different results, with the same query. I get many fewer rows. *Why is
that?*

Thanks for all the help.

Re: Batch job completion messages

2022-12-16 Thread Rodney Oliver
Hello,

I am getting the status from the batch job result. However it seems to blank.
My implementation was taken directly from the
AddCompleteCampaignsUsingBatchJob.php example

See snippet below.

// Gets all the results from running batch job and print their information.
$batchJobResults =
$this->googleAdsBatchServiceClient->listBatchJobResults(
$batchJobResourceName,
['pageSize' => self::PAGE_SIZE]
);
foreach ($batchJobResults->iterateAllElements() as $batchJobResult) {
/** @var BatchJobResult $batchJobResult */
printf(
"\t [%s] Batch job #%d has a status '%s' and response of type
'%s'.%s",
date('Y-m-d H:i:s'), $batchJobResult->getOperationIndex(),
$batchJobResult->getStatus()
? $batchJobResult->getStatus()->getMessage() : 'N/A',
$batchJobResult->getMutateOperationResponse()
?
$batchJobResult->getMutateOperationResponse()->getResponse()
: 'N/A',
PHP_EOL
);
}

How do I get the conversion ID and tag of the advertising account? I didn't
know the concept of conversion ID and conversion action ID before. I hope I
can provide a document to get the conversion ID

Re: l can‘t find api about conversion action

2022-12-16 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Keji,

I work with Peter. Thanks for getting back to us.

Since you mentioned that “ conversion ID I found is different from the
conversion ID of my advertising management platform. For example:: event API
id:6453175821”, I can see that your response already pulled below record for
the CID:

{

"conversionAction": {

"status": "REMOVED",

"category": "PURCHASE",

"name": "event API",

"resourceName": "customers/5883563550/conversionActions/6453175821",

"type": "WEBPAGE",

"id": "6453175821"

}

},

Note that the pulled ID 6453175821 is conversionAction.id. This is different
from what you are seeing as conversion ID. This is working as intended by
Google Ads API. Conversion ID seems to be utilized for the Google Tag manager.
For more information, you may refer to this guide.

Also, I had to delete your last post as it contained the sensitive information.
Please refrain from posting complete logs and complete Ads UI screenshot on the
forum.

Yasar

2022-12-16 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Amitha,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

For our team to further investigate and validate if the request is done
correctly, could you please provide us with the complete API logs (request and
response with request-id) generated on your end?

Note that this can be requested or provided to the developer handling the
Google Ads API transactions when logging of the API requests has been enabled.
You may check here and click your client library for the specific guideline to
enable it.

You may then send the requested logs via the Reply privately to author option.
If this option is not available, you may send the details directly to our
googleadsapi-supp...@google.com alias instead.

Best regards,

Heidi
