Re: Error in Google Ads API: change_event.client_type - Changes via "GOOGLE_ADS_EDITOR" are missing.

2024-11-06 Thread Aaron Weiner
Hello Doron,

I see the same thing that you are describing. change_event.client_type

does not show any changes made from GOOGLE_ADS_EDITOR.

I have been asking this question for a few years now and I have never
received a good explanation as to why.

Google, any idea why?

Thanks
Aaron

Hi,
I have a similar problem. I can see the change history done via
the GOOGLE_ADS_EDITOR on the Google Ads UI. Still, when I try to download a
report via the "change event" API, this client type is missing, even if I
filter the report using the exact dates and users who made the changes, and
not filtering by client type.
Is the GOOGLE_ADS_EDITOR client type not being returned via the "change
event" API?

Thanks,

Re: cannot pull auction_insight_search_impression_share metric

2024-03-14 Thread Aaron Weiner
We are now on Version 16 of the API.

Is there any news on this issue or will we still not be able to grab this
data?
metrics.auction_insight_search_absolute_top_impression_percentage,
metrics.auction_insight_search_impression_share,
metrics.auction_insight_search_outranking_share,
metrics.auction_insight_search_overlap_rate,
metrics.auction_insight_search_position_above_rate,
metrics.auction_insight_search_top_impression_percentage

If we cannot use this, why have it in the documentation?

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

Re: customer_manager_link

2023-02-20 Thread Aaron Weiner
Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

The business use case is mainly for security.

If someone gets added to a client account, I want to be alerted right away.
While email notifications from Google work, they don't always arrive.

Also, I can see all this data on the user-level access but not the
manager-level access via the API. It's not like this information is hidden
because it's all visible in the web interface.

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

customer_manager_link.manager_link_id,
customer_manager_link.resource_name,
customer_manager_link.status

How do I get the actual name on the manager_link_id?

Also, how can I get the date that manager account was linked?

Re: Dismiss recommendation issue

2023-01-31 Thread Aaron Weiner
Yes, it seems to just hang when I try to use a full resource name as you
described ("customers/{customer_id}/recommendations/{recommendation_id}")
on a call to the service.DismissRecommendation.

Keep in mind that I am initially calling this query:
SELECT
recommendation.dismissed,
recommendation.resource_name,
recommendation.type
FROM
recommendation
WHERE
recommendation.dismissed = false

I have even tried to make a service.DismissRecommendation call with an
erroneous resource name but it still hangs when I make the call. I was
hoping that I would at least see an error but nothing.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can debug this or resolve this while I
wait to hear back from the owner of the library?

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

Aaron

Re: Dismiss recommendation issue

Yes, the code seems to hang only when I try to call
the service.DismissRecommendation().

I can use the googleAdsService.SearchStream() to get specific clients with
a specific label.

I can do the same for getting optimization scores for each client ID or
each of the Recommendation.ResourceName for each client ID.

Services.V12.RecommendationService seems to hang when I try
the service.DismissRecommendation.

Any suggestions?

Dismiss recommendation issue

2023-01-20 Thread Aaron Weiner
Hello,

I am trying to work with this example code:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/samples/dismiss-recommendation#c

The issue that I'm having is the code in that C# example is looking for the
following variable: recommendationId which is of the long data type.

There is no recommendationId that are numerical (long). They are all string
values.

What am I missing here?

How can I tell if I am being impacted by this issue:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/rmf#requirements_for_api_clients_providing_recommendation_service

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

Thank you.

In the end, I did the following queries because I not only did I want to
know if the extensions were used but also if they were actively used. Only
extensions in active campaigns or active ad groups were of interest to me.

Also, I wanted to know only about 'ENABLED' extensions and not any of these
statuses: PAUSED, REMOVED, UNKNOWN, UNSPECIFIED

SELECT
  asset.id,
  customer_asset.status
FROM customer_asset
WHERE
  asset.id = 1234567890
  AND customer_asset.status = 'ENABLED'

SELECT

Re: Is asset being used by?

2022-09-07 Thread Aaron Weiner
Okay, thank you.

As for a feature request, I simply want to check an account to see if there
are any disapproved extensions and the specifics on those extensions.

If there are any non-approved extensions, I would like to see a report on
them, but I'm only interested in extensions that are actually being used
somewhere in the account.

By using this report
 and this
query, for example:

SELECT
  asset.policy_summary.approval_status,
  asset.policy_summary.policy_topic_entries,
  asset.policy_summary.review_status
FROM asset
WHERE
  asset.policy_summary.approval_status != 'APPROVED'

I can see all the extensions that are currently not approved but I cannot
tell if they are used or not used anywhere within the account.

That would be great if I could tell where they are used from the asset
level. Fewer calls to the Google API.

Thanks.

Aaron

Re: Is asset being used by?

2022-09-07 Thread Aaron Weiner
Please correct me if I am wrong but you're saying to take the asset.id
 and
then query each of these reports: customer_asset
,
campaign_asset

and ad_group_asset

Something like these queries:

SELECT
  asset.id
FROM customer_asset
WHERE
  asset.id = 123456789
--
SELECT
  asset.id
FROM campaign_asset
WHERE
  asset.id = 123456789
--
SELECT
  asset.id
FROM ad_group_asset
WHERE
  asset.id = 123456789

If each query returns nothing, then they are not being used?

Is that correct?

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

Is asset being used by?

2022-09-07 Thread Aaron Weiner
Hello,

How can I tell if an asset is being used by the account, a campaign or ad
group?

Using this report
 and this
query, for example:

SELECT
  asset.policy_summary.approval_status,
  asset.policy_summary.policy_topic_entries,
  asset.policy_summary.review_status
FROM asset
WHERE
  asset.policy_summary.approval_status != 'APPROVED'

What else can I do to tell if the asset in question is actually used
anywhere in the account?

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

How can I ignore defunct extensions?

2022-08-04 Thread Aaron Weiner
Hello,

I have a report that emails me a list of disapproved extensions within an
account.

When I run this query on a particular account:

SELECT
  feed_item.status,
  feed_item.attribute_values,
  feed_item.policy_infos,
  feed_item.id
FROM feed_item
WHERE
  feed_item.status = 'ENABLED'

It returns an old review extension that has been disapproved.

I cannot do anything with this information, since review extensions are no
longer an option in Google Ads.

How can I modify this query so that it will never return extensions that
can no longer be used in Google Ads?

I would have thought *feed_item.status = 'ENABLED'* would have accomplished
this, but this old review extension is, in fact, listed as enabled.

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

Aaron

Re: Approval Status for Image extension

2022-07-28 Thread Aaron Weiner
I'm seeing the same issue.

I have a few accounts which contain some disapproved image extensions, but
their approval status is never returned within the asset
 report.

SELECT
  asset.policy_summary.approval_status,
  asset.policy_summary.policy_topic_entries,
  asset.policy_summary.review_status,
  asset.name,
  asset.type
FROM asset
WHERE
  asset.policy_summary.approval_status != 'APPROVED'
ORDER BY
  asset.type

Are image extensions not in this report?

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

dismiss recommendations

2022-05-17 Thread Aaron Weiner
Has anyone been able to dismiss recommendations via the Google Ads API and
also see that those same recommendations are then dismissed within the
Google Ads web interface?

I'm using .NET to dismiss recommendations for an account, and it seems to
process correctly but not in the web interface.

Before I try to dismiss any recommendations, I do the following query for
the given account:
SELECT
recommendation.dismissed,
recommendation.resource_name,
recommendation.type
FROM
recommendation
WHERE
recommendation.dismissed = false

I then loop through the recommendation.resource_name(s) and use the
dismissrecommendation

service.

It seems to work because when I try to run through the process again, the
above query no longer finds any recommendation.dismissed = false

The problem is that when I look inside the actual account in the web
interface, there was no impact on the recommendations even though the API
says that they were dismissed.

Any suggestions?

Aaron

Re: customer_client.applied_labels

2021-11-22 Thread Aaron Weiner
Does that mean that the documentation is incorrect or am I reading it
wrong?

Within the customer_client

report, customer_client.applied_labels

 says
that filterable = true.

If that is correct in the documentation, how would I set up that filter?

recommendation strangeness

2021-11-20 Thread Aaron Weiner
Hello,

When I perform a googleAdsService.SearchStream on this query within .NET:

SELECT
recommendation.resource_name,
recommendation.type,
recommendation.dismissed,
recommendation.campaign
FROM
recommendation

Nothing is returned even though I undismissed a number of dismissed
recommendations within the Google Ads UI.

When I try other accounts where I see no recommendations in the UI - "No
recommendations" meaning, they have either been dismissed or applied
previously, I see data reported back to me via the
googleAdsService.SearchStream

.

Also, how can Recommendation.Dismissed be True when I see the
recommendation in the Google Ads UI not dismissed?

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

Aaron

customer_client.applied_labels

2021-11-19 Thread Aaron Weiner
How can I grab all customer_client that have a
specific customer_client.applied_labels?

For example, this does not seem to work for me:

SELECT
customer_client.id,
customer_client.descriptive_name,
customer_client.applied_labels,
customer_client.client_customer,
customer_client.currency_code,
customer_client.time_zone
FROM
customer_client
WHERE
customer_client.applied_labels CONTAINS_ANY
[customers/11/labels/22]
ORDER BY
customer_client.id
