Is this available through the API? I couldn't see it referenced anywhere.

Remove Shared Sets

2019-07-09 Thread Joe Stedman
Hi guys,

I've removed some shared sets (negative keyword lists) using the GUI.

But whenever I use the SharedSetService to retrieve the sets they still
appear as Enabled.

This happens when I use SharedSetService, or CampaignSharedSetService, both
on the Ads API and AdWords API. Is there any way to only retrieve the
enabled shared sets?

Thanks,
Joe

Re: Did Google Ads API provide access log ?

2019-07-08 Thread Joe Stedman
Not related to Google Ads specifically, but if you log into your Google
account (the one that granted access to the 3rd party app). You can select
'Security -> Third-party apps with account access' and revoke the access
there.

I couldn't see anything in the change history but i'm kinda hoping you'd

Re: Shopping campaign setup via API

2019-03-13 Thread Joe Stedman
There are a few tools out there that do this already but are built on the
AdWords API. (I even built one myself).
I think the Google Ads API has a few limitations. eg. I don't think it can
subdivide by product category yet. Might be worth waiting til V2.

Re: List of campaign attributes.

2019-03-12 Thread Joe Stedman
You know what, i figured it out.
$"SELECT name,selectable,enum_values WHERE category = 'ATTRIBUTE'" gives
you all the attributes. Then you can just include the ones with a
ResourceName that contains "/campaign.".
There's probably a better way though.

List of campaign attributes.

2019-03-12 Thread Joe Stedman
Hi, I'm trying to get a list of attributes+metrics for the campaign
artifact along with their enum values if applicable.
I managed to get the metrics using the GoogleAdsFieldService with this as
the query:
"SELECT name, category, selectable, enum_values, filterable, sortable,
selectable_with, data_type, is_repeated WHERE category IN
('METRIC','ATTRIBUTE') AND selectable_with CONTAINS ALL ('campaign')"

This only returns the metrics, which i understand. What should I do to get
the attributes?

Thanks,

Google Ads API Metric List

2019-03-07 Thread Joe Stedman
Hi,

With the AdWords API it's always been possible to download a csv of all the
metrics found here: the button at the top of this page

.
Does something similar exist for the Google Ads API? Closest thing I could
find was this metric list here:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/fields/metrics
 but
there's no file export.

Thanks,
Joe

FeedItemTargetService and the SET operator.

2018-12-19 Thread Joe Stedman
I'm writing a program where I need to set the campaign targeting on ad
customizer feed items.
I'm using v201806 of the API.

I can use the ADD and REMOVE operators just fine but i get a
operand_not_supported error if I try and SET the targeting.
For now my workaround is to remove all the targeting and then add it all,
but this seems a bit messy. i must be doing something wrong.

the operand i'm trying to post contains the campaignId, feedId, feedItemId
and of course the operator. What am I missing?

Regards,
Joe

Retrieving Ad Extensions

2018-05-08 Thread Joe Stedman
Hi,

I'm trying to get a list of all the ad extensions in an account at account
level, campaign level and ad group level.

I've used the *CustomerExtensionSettingService *and the
*CampaignExtensionSettingService
*with a selector applied containing the fields: 'ExtensionType' and
'Extensions'.
This all seems to work fine, and I can see a list of entries.
When I try and use the *AdGroupExtensionSettingService *to retrieve the
extensions however, it does not work. Weirdly, I can see the entries exist
as the 'totalNumEntries' property on the page is populated. However the
'entries' property is null.

(see screenshot above of my *AdGroupExtensionSettingPage *object).

Any help would be most appreciated.

Re: Finding automated ads with awql

2017-12-14 Thread Joe Stedman
Ok I solved this, but i'll leave it up in case anybody needs it in future.
I was using this method:
public ReportUtilities(AdWordsUser user, string query, string format);

Assuming it would use the latest AdWords version, but it does not.
Once you switch to this method:
public ReportUtilities(AdWordsUser user, string reportVersion, string
query, string format);

You can define the AdWords version you need, which seemed to fix the
problem. It does however mean that you'll need to keep changing your
reportVersion string every time your version gets sunset.

Finding automated ads with awql

2017-12-14 Thread Joe Stedman
Hi,

I'm using the c# library to request an awql report for automated ads in my
account.
The Nuget package version I'm using is 22.4.0.0

When I try and request the report using this string:
"SELECT
CreativeFinalUrls,AdGroupStatus,Status,AdGroupId,CampaignName,CampaignId,AdGroupName,HeadlinePart1,HeadlinePart2,Description

FROM AD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT WHERE Status != 'DISABLED' AND Automated =
'TRUE'"
I get the error:
"Customer passed in invalid field name for a report type. (Error:
ReportDefinitionError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME_FOR_REPORT, FieldPath: Automated,
Trigger: )"

Is this correct? Is the AdWords Nuget package 'ReportUtilites' class
currently using v201710 of the API?

I hope this is the right place to ask,

Thanks,
Joe

Re: Google Product Taxonomy vs Product Bidding Category

2016-09-29 Thread Joe Stedman
Hi Shwetha,

Thank you for getting back to me.
I still have a problem though, example:

I have a selection of products with the taxonomy "Hardware/Painting & Wall
Covering Supplies/Paint"
Using the ConstantDataService, I can get category ids of
'1689639310991627077' for Hardware and '6493303640508933718' for Wall
Covering Supplies, and can confirm that 'Wall Covering Supplies' is indeed
a child of 'Hardware'.
Yet when I call mutate on the adGroupCriterionService I get an error
telling me that "Bidding categories do not form a valid path in the
Shopping bidding category taxonomy...". Which if i'm understanding that
correctly, is telling me that 'Wall Covering Supplies' is not a correct
child of 'Hardware'.

Of course, this is just one example, there are far more products for some
of my other clients that have the same problem.
If the ConstantDataService is telling me that it should be correct, I have
no way of catching the error before i call mutate, so the entire operation
array will fail unless I call mutate on each product individually which is
a bad idea :)

Am I doing something wrong, is there another way to make sure my products
have the correct taxonomy before I try to create their partitions?

Kind Regards,
Joe

Google Product Taxonomy vs Product Bidding Category

2016-09-28 Thread Joe Stedman
Hi All,

When automating the creation of shopping campaigns I noticed that the
Google Product Categories returned by the API don't quite match up with the
taxonomy found here:
https://www.google.com/basepages/producttype/taxonomy-with-ids.en-GB.txt

Causing my code to throw exceptions when it tries to create a product tree
using the outdated taxonomy.

The exact error I receive is : "Bidding categories do not form a valid path
in the Shopping bidding category taxonomy.."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Joe
