Re: sandbox is not working?

2010-06-15 Thread Matt
I'm having a similar problem using the v200909 version and the PHP
library... the code dies at:

$campaignService = $user->GetCampaignService('v200909','https://
adwords-sandbox.google.com');

I'm getting a blank screen in Firefox as well, even though this code
is within a try-catch block... no error message is reported, the code
just dies.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Validating Ads before AdGroup creation

2010-06-20 Thread Matt
Is there any way to validate against policy errors an ad prior to
creating an adgroup? I have tried passing a null adgroup id in an ad
with the validateOnly header, but a required field error is generated
about the adgroup instead of the policy check (as I mostly suspected
it would).

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

RMF C.65

2013-05-01 Thread Matt

I'm currently adapting an application such that it meets the Adwords RMF
for Creative and Management functionality. Would C.65, 'Enable
Conversion Tracking' be met if I had a check box on the create campaign

ability to set up tracking from scratch?

I am having some issues with no campaigns coming back.

I have campaigns in both. Here is what I am doing.

developerToken - My main account

Sadly, this all worked about 6 weeks ago. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: OAuth support - please finish the job

2011-08-16 Thread Matt
Is there any news on OAuth support in report downloading?
My team just migrated a large amount of code to use OAuth and now
we've found it's not supported for downloading a report generated
using OAuth.
It seems a little strange to have to require our clients to provide 2
authentication methods (OAuth, ClientLogin) in order to use OAuth.
Any help or a timeline would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Re: OAuth support - please finish the job

2011-08-17 Thread Matt
Eric,
Thank you for the reply. I was hoping we were just doing something
wrong.
We'll find a solution or workaround, and that may just be to stick
with ClientLogin until OAuth is available for report downloading.

Thanks,
Matt

Vishal - related questions:

What API fields would we use to call zip code performance of advertising? I
see how we can do this for our account manually, but can't see how we would

Below is the manual way we can create this report in excel. I hope there's

Re: How to get association for AdExtension

2020-12-11 Thread Matt
Hi Matt,

I have tried to use campaign_extension_setting without luck. See example:

SELECT campaign_extension_setting.extension_feed_items,
campaign_extension_setting.extension_type,
campaign_extension_setting.campaign,
campaign_extension_setting.resource_name, campaign.id FROM
campaign_extension_setting

That query does return results, but it never includes
campaign_extension_setting.extension_feed_items (which I would expect to be
returned so I could then make a second query to feed item IDs
using extension_feed_item).

Do you have a different example query that demonstrates the results I'm
expecting?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: How to get association for AdExtension

2020-12-13 Thread Matt
Hi Peter,

If an extension is created via the Google Ads UI and shows that an
extension has the "Level" of "Campaign" or the "Level" of "Ad Group", is
that equivalent to setting the targeted_campaign field in your example?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Google Ads API Client Library for Python v4.0 - when?

2020-07-11 Thread Matt
Hi team,

With the v4 beta
<https://ads-developers.googleblog.com/2020/07/announcing-v4-of-google-ads-api-beta.html>

release this week, can we please get an ETA on the Python client library?

Seems like it's still on v2 on PyPI according to docs.
<https://pypi.org/project/google-ads/#api-versioning> Similarly, the
following error is returned with any attempt to call v4 (after pip
installing to google-ads==4.0.0)
*ValueError: Specified Google Ads API version "v4" does not exist. Valid
API versions are: "v2", "v1"*

Thanks,
Matt

Ability to set final url suffix via API

2023-10-23 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

I'm trying to find whether it's possible to set the final url suffix via
the API but cannot seem to find anything. I'm specifically trying to find
where I can set the value for the input in the attached screen shot.

Thanks for your help,

Re: ability to set final url suffix via api

2023-11-01 Thread Matt Dworkin
Thanks for getting back to me.

A few follow ups.

1. Is it possible to set the suffix while *creating* the campaign?
2. I might be missing something, but it seems like the docs that are linked
to are deprecated, are there other docs to use?

Thanks for your help!

Re: ability to set final url suffix via api

2023-11-02 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

That didn't seem to work, but I found a way. For future reference in case
other people have a similar question, final_url_suffix is a field on the
Campaign object, and there's also a method (at least in the PHP library)
setFinalUrlSuffix.

API seems to be changing micros and breaking

2023-12-18 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

I've been seeing some strange behavior recently when trying to update
target_cpa_micros.

Sometimes when I submit a payload like 207, it will slight round the
micros down to 206. This then gives me a
"currencyError":"VALUE_NOT_MULTIPLE_OF_BILLABLE_UNIT"
error. I've printed out the values to confirm that right before sending,
the micros hasn't been changed on my end. Any idea what might be happening?
This doesn't happen everytime, but I've noticed it only seems to happen
with odd numbers.

I can provide request IDs if you need.

Thanks,
Matt

Urgent - No response from Ads API application for Basic access

2024-01-16 Thread Matt Makris
I have been trying to gain access to the basic API so I can pull a couple
report metrics from our agency MCC (from various clients within). Google
hasn't sent any receipt confirmation or response from the application I
submitted a couple of weeks ago, or the one I submitted within the past
week. I have also submitted a "Contact Google Ads API Compliance" form
twice with no receipt confirmation or response. We really need to get our
application up and running and am worried Google isn't reviewing this.
Could you please help? Do we need to have our Premier Partners rep handle
this? Thank you in advance for your help!

Set Language on Call to Action Button Via API

see how to do this in the API. Attached is a screenshot of the UI
functionality.

Thanks for your help.

No response from my Google Ads Basic API access application

2024-05-17 Thread Matt Makris
Hi Support Team,

I've submitted my application twice in 2-3 weeks and have not heard
anything from Google regarding it and still haven't received access. It's
holding up the launch of our internal reporting application that our ad
managers use to avoid overspends. Thank you in advance!

MCC ID: 455-467-2764

I did not receive a case ID yet.

Hi Team,

We are facing high latency with the API calls and are also seeing
deadline exceeded errors for most of the accounts for the past two hours.
Could you please look into this at the earliest and let us know if
there is any issue with the API currently.

Thanks,
Haritha

In the logs I'm seeing that a retry needs to wait 900 seconds, so I'm not
sure exponential backoff will help. Could that actually end up hurting?
Does the "retry time" reset if we send another request before 15 minutes
has passed?

Keyword Planner Suddenly Throws Error

2024-08-01 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

We've been using keyword planner via for a while, and today it randomly
stopped working for our employees. Our look back date was 2024-07 (start) -
2024-08 (end). If we expand the look back to a few months ago, it seems to
work.

We get the following error: Failure:
{"errors":[{"errorCode":{"keywordPlanIdeaError":"INVALID_VALUE"},"message":"The
input has an invalid value."}],"requestId":"1NsCjUiyBp4xdm0NRG3iTg"}

I think this has happened around the first of the month before. Is there a
reason why we would suddenly get this error at the start of a month?

Thanks,
Matt

How to Update TCPA For Max Performance Campaigns

2024-08-15 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

I'm trying to update the target_cpa for a max performance campaign but keep
getting an OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CONTEXT error.

Here's exactly what I'm trying to do. We have a max performance campaign
with the bidding strategy Maximum Conversions (target cpa). In the API I am
trying to update the target_cpa of the *campaign* by using a TargetCpa
object with the target_cpa_micros property set to the desired value.

I had thought that maybe the bidding_strategy_type was incorrect, so I
tried using a TARGET_CPA bidding strategy (as well as a slew of others) to
test if those would work, but in each case I got the same error.

First is it possible to change the tcpa of a max performance campaign
through the API? If so, how do you do it?

Thanks for your help.

Matt

AdWords API Downloading Metro Codes in CSV (or similar) format?

I see Google offers a list of U.S. metro codes here:

Is there a CSV version (or something similar) available for download,
or am I stuck copying these all by hand if I need them?

Summing cost of display performance and criteria performance reports

2013-10-02 Thread Matt Bessey
I am attempting to use the DISPLAY_KEYWORD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
and CRITERIA_PERFORMANCE_REPORT to build a dataset showing the cost and
performance of my search and display adverts. I am using the following AWQL
in Ruby (through the AdWords gem) to do so:

"SELECT Id, Date, AccountDescriptiveName, AdGroupId, AdGroupName,
> AdNetworkType1, CampaignName,
> ClickType, Criteria, IsNegative, Impressions, Clicks, Cost,
> AveragePosition, Conversions, QualityScore
> FROM CRITERIA_PERFORMANCE_REPORT DURING
> #{start_date.strftime("%Y%m%d")},#{end_date.strftime("%Y%m%d")}"
> "SELECT Id, Date, AdGroupId,AdGroupName, AdNetworkType1, CampaignName,
> ClickType, IsNegative,
> Impressions, Clicks, Cost, Conversions FROM
> DISPLAY_KEYWORD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
> DURING
> #{start_date.strftime("%Y%m%d")},#{end_date.strftime("%Y%m%d")}"

However, when I sum the total costs for a given date with these commands,
the number I get is higher than the truth. I assume this is something to do
with DISPLAY_KEYWORD_PERFORMANCE_REPORT being a "multiple attribution"
report, but I don't see an alternative report to use. What report should I
be using to achieve an accurate dataset?

Does AdWords Editor (AWE) use the API?

2013-10-30 Thread Matt Perry
Hello,

In determining if something is possible with the API, I've assumed that if
you can do it with AdWords Editor, you can find a way to do it with the
API? Is this correct?

One thing that makes me question this is that when we pulled targeted
locations via the API, it didn't include any of the zip codes. I know zip
code targeting is "in beta", but AdWords Editor pulls them fine. So I'm
guessing we just weren't doing it properly with the API - since we can do
it with AWE.

So does the AdWords Editor use the same API we use?

ETA on AdGroup Platform Target Report?

2014-01-21 Thread Matt Linscott
We really need a more efficient way of fetching the mobile bid modifiers at
the ad group level for an entire account. It's been four months since the
last major release (v201309) of the adwords API so I'm hoping to see a new
library version any time now, but will it have the AdGroup Platform Target
report type so we can bulk download bid modifiers?

Required Minimum Functionality RMF now applies to Internal-Only users?

2014-02-03 Thread Matt Perry
Hello,

As an agency, we've been developing various tools that we use internally to
help us with account creation and management. We've been very careful to
not allow clients, partners, etc to use the API to maintain our status of
an "Internal-Only AdWords API Client". And our intention is to report any
use changes when they are developed, as required.

When we began developing these tools, the RMF document said that it didn't
apply to "Internal-Only" clients:

"This Section III(2)(f) does not apply to End-Advertiser-Only AdWords API
Clients and Internal-Only AdWords API Clients"
See:
http://googledata.org/google-adwords-api/changes-to-required-minimum-functionality-for-adwords-api-clients/

But now, the RMF document does not even mention "Internal-Only" clients:

"*End-Advertiser-Only AdWords API Clients (each as defined in the **Terms &
Conditions ) are not
required to fully implement the required AdWords API features shown in the
chart below; all other AdWords API Clients (as defined in the Terms &
Conditions **) must
fully implement the required AdWords API feature*s relevant to their tool
type as explained below."
See: https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/requirements

I understand that this forum cannot provide legal interpretation, but I'm
hoping I'm missing something.

Since we use the API to manage other business's accounts, we're not
End-Advertiser-Only. But it makes no sense to me that if we've written
code to internally use the API to create a campaign, we also need to have
code to use the API to create Ad Group Sitelinks.

Was there any discussion around this change? Do we know when this change
occurred? Are there any other documents that address this besides the RMF
and TOS? Am I missing something?

Thanks.

They didn't provide too many details in their response, but it appears to
be a case-by-case thing now. Although the term "internal-only" has

internal-only, we're "good to go".

Google TV - DefinedReportJob Params

2010-08-16 Thread Matt Beck
Hi,

I have a Google TV account and I run "Played Spots" reports through
the Adwords UI. I want to automate the creation and downloading of
this report using the AdWords API. But I'm having trouble finding
documentation on creating a "Played Spots" report. More specifically,
I don't know what parameters to use when creating a DefinedReportJob
object.

Here is an example of my C# code that I use to create other non-Google
TV reports. So I do have experience using the APIs, I just don't know
how to get Google TV reports to run. The code below is actually for a
GCN placement report.

// Create report job structure.
DefinedReportJob job = new DefinedReportJob();
job.selectedReportType = "ContentPlacement";
job.name = "Placement Report Automation";
job.aggregationTypes = new String[] { "AdGroup", "Url", "Summary" };
job.startDay = DateTime.Now.AddDays(-180);
job.endDay = DateTime.Now.AddDays(-1);
job.selectedColumns = new String[] { "Campaign", "CampaignId"
, "AdGroup", "PlacementUrl", "PlacementDomain"
, "Clicks", "Cost", "Conversions" };

Duplicate CollectionSizeError type definition

2010-11-22 Thread Matt Hughes
Hi,

while importing AdWords services to generate proxy classes I noticed
that CollectionSizeError type is defined in two namespaces:

- https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/cm/v201008 (in
ReportDefinitionService),
- https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/o/v201008 (in
TargetingIdeaService and TrafficEstimatorService)Structure of
CollectionSizeError type is identical in every WSDL.

So my question is: should these types be considered different, or you
accidentaly exported two identical types to different XML namespaces?

Reason I am asking is because I wanted all my proxy types to reside in
one namespace and this is only type for which I am getting duplicate
definition compiler error.

Thank you!

Use Maps API to show all geotargeting within an MCC?

2013-03-13 Thread Matt Perry
Is it possible to use the Maps and AdWords APIs together to create an
accurate map of all geotargeting within an MCC? We typically geotarget for
local businesses using a combination of zip codes and radii around
addresses in U.S. and Canada. We'd like to see the geotargeting off all
accounts within the MCC on one map.

Not looking for how - just want to know if it's possible before outsourcing
the project.

Thanks!

Multiple MCC Accounts

2015-02-04 Thread Matt Burton
Hi,

I've recently started to build an application with the AdwordsAPI and I had
a question about multiple MCC accounts.

When I login to Adwords via a web browser, there is a select box at the top
that has 8 options, these are Multiple MCC's. We use these for various
groupings of client types, we manage about 200 clients.

Anyway, when I use the API call "ManagedCustomerService" with a filter of
"CanManageClients" it actually returns 25 MCC's, some of these are out
clients MCC's that we've linked to ours.

My question is, how do I return the list of 8 MCC's as per the Adword
control panel, or can I not?

Thanks
Matt

Hi Rayden

It's been 2 weeks for me and haven't heard a thing.

It's quite clear now how important Google regards us and how important we are

Google products from now on. I'd recommend for you and any others in a similar

Re: Adwords campaigns dependent on the weather

2012-07-31 Thread Matt Alonso
This is actually one of the things a company I am a part of does. We
analyze client data (e.g. POS data, call center data, etc) and determine
how it correlates to a multitude of different weather variables. We have
also helped clients develop Google Gadget Ads - not sure if those still
even exist - to actually use: the analysis results, the approximate
location of the user, and the current/forecast weather to determine exactly
what ad to show.

I don't want to be viewed as spamming so I will leave out the name and link
to my company's site. However, I would be more than happy to discuss this
offline, so feel free to contact me directly if interested.

Re: Execution time - Basic Question

2015-07-27 Thread Matt Linscott
As we don't use shared budgets in our system would do something like this:

Create 100 budgets - 1 call, ~1-2 seconds
Create 100 campaigns (with budget ids) - 1 call, ~1-2 seconds
Create 300-500 campaign criterion (campaign mobile bid modifier, location
targeting, language targeting, etc) - 1 call, ~2-3 seconds
Create 100 ad groups - 1 call, ~2-3 seconds
Set 100 ad group mobile bid modifier - 1 call, ~2-3 seconds
Add 3000 keywords (10 keywords x 3 match types x 100 ad groups) - 1 call,
~10 seconds
Add 300 text ads (3 ad templates x 100 ad groups) - 1 call, ~5 seconds

Total time ~18-30 seconds.

Also, if you were adding other criterion at the ad group level (besides
keywords), there might be an extra call in there.

Connecting AdWords Accounts

2015-10-13 Thread Matt Rogers
Hey Guys,

We have just received a shiny new "Independent Software Vendor" key and
we're very excited to start using it.

We're after a process like this:

 1. New user comes along to our website
 2. They registered and connect up their AdWords account (might be a
 single account, or it might be an MCC)
 3. We then run some services for them on their account

I'm trying to automate this process as much as possible and my question is
around Stage 2. My ideal is that there is a "Facebook Connect" style
connection, but it could be that this isn't supported in this way, and we
need to follow this process:

 1. Get the ID of the user in a Textbox
 2. Using the API send a request to add the ID to our MCC
 3. Periodically check if the ID has been added to our MCC
 4. Once it's connected our application can kick in

Am wondering if there is an approved process from Google to achieve this?

Cheers,

Matt.

Connecting AdWords accounts via API

2015-10-13 Thread Matt Rogers
Hey Guys,

So we have a shiny new Independent Software Developer key which we're very
excited to use! :)

I have some basic questions on the solution which we're trying to achieve,
this is what we're trying to do:

 1. User surfs over to our website
 2. User signs up to our service online
 3. User connects AdWords account
 4. User starts using service

My questions is around how we achieve stage 3. I am assuming that there is
a "Facebook Connect" style connection, something like "Sign in to connect
your AdWords Account", we open a pop-up the users signs in, etc.

However, it could be a process that looks like this:

 1. Our key is associated with an MCC
 2. The user enters their account ID into a text box (the account could
 be a MCC)
 3. Through the API we add the account ID to our MCC
 4. We inform the user to accept or decline the request
 5. We poll the API occasionally to find out if the account has been added
 6. User starts using the service

Can you advise what the best solution is for this?

Cheers,

Matt.

Billing for AdWords API Standard Access - No Billing Interface?

2016-02-05 Thread Matt Stover
Hi,

Our agency was just approved for standard access, and we were told we
needed to set up billing within our developer MCC account before we could
utilize our new access level. The documentation appears to be a bit
outdated, as the instructions reference the "My Account" page which does
not exist. We're not able to setup billing for our MCC as it does not
appear to be an option through any of the account settings tabs. Are we
looking in the right place? Has the API billing interface moved elsewhere?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

accountLimitType=IMPLICITLY_SHARED_BUDGETS_PER_ACCOUNT - Receiving this error even for brand new accounts

2016-03-25 Thread Matt Stover
Hi,

We are attempting to generate campaigns in accounts, but are receiving the
following error:
EntityCountLimitExceeded.ACCOUNT_LIMIT
[EntityCountLimitExceeded.ACCOUNT_LIMIT @ operations[0]
(enclosingId=182774, limit=2,
accountLimitType=IMPLICITLY_SHARED_BUDGETS_PER_ACCOUNT,
existingCount=20013)]

Here's the confusing part:

1) This account does not have 20,013 shared budgets - not even close
actually.

2) we are receiving this error for all accounts, not just this particular
account, though none of our other accounts have hit the limit for shared
budgets. Even when attempting to create campaigns in brand new accounts, we
receive this same error. Is the budget limit assigned at the MCC level?

3) How can we overcome this problem? We have tried setting all campaigns in
the example account to a single shared budget via the UI, but since the
other budgets were created via the API, the shared budgets are not visible
via the UI. How can we delete them?

Any help is greatly appreciated. -Matt

Issue passing an array to SelectorBuilder .in() method

2019-05-13 Thread Matt Jacobson
Hello,

I am trying to create a Selector like so:
String[] adGroupIds = {"123", "234"};
SelectorBuilder builder = new SelectorBuilder();
Selector selector = builder
.fields(AdGroupField.values())
.in(AdGroupField.Id, adGroupIds)
.offset(offset)
.limit(pageSize)
.build();

However when I pass the Selector to the AdGroupServiceInterface I get an
INVALID_PREDICATE_VALUE and the resulting SOAP request seems to be
malformed:

Id
IN
123,234

Furthermore, if I change the .in() method to use a varargs instead
everything works as expected:
SelectorBuilder builder = new SelectorBuilder();
Selector selector = builder
.fields(AdGroupField.values())
.in(AdGroupField.Id, "123", "234")
.offset(offset)
.limit(pageSize)
.build();

and I get the proper SOAP request:

Id
IN
123
234

I was under the assumption that Java treated varargs the exact same as
arrays but something seems to be different here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Trouble Downloading ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT to a CSVFOREXCEL

2019-06-27 Thread Matt Orehek
Hello,

I am struggling to convert an Account Performance Report into a
CSVFOREXCEL. I've tried using both report_downloader.DownloadReport and
report_downloader.DownloadReportWithAWQL.

I have been using the code examples from the Documentation:

 # Create report query.
 report_query = (adwords.ReportQueryBuilder()
 .Select('CampaignId', 'AdGroupId', 'Id', 'Criteria',
 'CriteriaType', 'FinalUrls', 'Impressions', 'Clicks',
 'Cost')
 .From('CRITERIA_PERFORMANCE_REPORT')
 .Where('Status').In('ENABLED', 'PAUSED')
 .During('LAST_7_DAYS')
 .Build())

 # You can provide a file object to write the output to. For this
 # demonstration we use sys.stdout to write the report to the screen.
 report_downloader.DownloadReportWithAwql(
 report_query, 'CSV', sys.stdout, skip_report_header=False,
 skip_column_header=False, skip_report_summary=False,
 include_zero_impressions=True)

However, when I change the download type from CSV to CSVFOREXCEL, I begin
to get this error:

'UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0xff in position 0:
invalid start byte'

Also, when I try providing a file object PATH
PATH = r'C:\Users\morehek\intraday.csv'

in the place of sys.stdout, I receive errors that I cannot write the
output to a string object.

Can someone on the Adwords team please advise me on how to cleanly write a
report download into a Microsoft Excel CSV?

Thanks
-Matt

Google Ads GetCampaign method version discrepancies.

2022-12-21 Thread Matt Rodney
Hello All,
I am trying to use the getCampaigns method with google ads api (Get Campaign
) and
it keeps referring to the GoogleAdsClient class present in the v12 folder
of the package. However on a freshly installed google-ads-php package via
the command "composer require googleads/google-ads-php", there is no v12.
Only v7, v8 and v9 are available. My ask is that will there be any
compatibility issues with me using the GoogleAdsClient class contained in
v9?
Is there another way to install this package whilst including the v12
folder which is referenced in the documentation of the GetCampaign method?

Thanks.

Are ids (campaign, adgroup, ad) reused across accounts?

2022-12-21 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

I have two sub accounts under one MCC, I'm trying to find out if it might
ever be the case that the same campaign id (or adgroup id or ad id) will be
used in each account. So, for example, Account A has ad 1234, is it
possible that an ad in Account B is assigned 1234?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Best,
Matt

Re: Discrepancy between the data that is shown in the Google Ads Campaign Manager UI and data that is extracted from API

2023-03-02 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

We've also noticed some discrepancies over the last day. Historical cost
appears to have changed drastically. As of Monday, our API pulls matched
what was shown in the Campaign Manager UI, but now there are discrepancies.
Has anything changed?

Transiet Error is Persisting

2023-03-24 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

When trying to append an ad or make a campaign (that creates ads as a final
step) I keep getting a code 13 with the following message: A transient
internal error has occurred. Retry the request., at
mutate_operations[0].asset_operation

The server logs do not indicate an issue, and nothing has changed on our
side. I've tried with a few different payloads and waited about 30 minutes
to try again, but the issue is persisting.

Is there a known issue right now?

Please let me know what other information you need, thanks!

Best, Matt

Way to check if client billing is setup or ads not showing because of billing issue?

2017-03-01 Thread Matt Perry
Hi,

I understand that the Adwords API doesn't support MCC client forms of
payment/billing. I accept that the client needs to provide their billing
info through the UI (except w/ whitelisted BillingOrderService).

But is there any way to somehow use the API to confirm that billing has
been setup and/or ads aren't eligible to show b/c of a billing issue?

Maybe...
- an error that would be caused by a particular API request that would
indicate that the ads aren't eligible to show b/c of billing?
- a reporting behavior attribute?

Re: Way to check if client billing is setup or ads not showing because of billing issue?

2017-03-02 Thread Matt Perry
Well, that just might be workable.

We often setup campaigns before the client has entered their billing info. The
last thing they need to do before their ads start showing is provide Google a
form of payment. So, theoretically, assuming the campaigns are setup and not
paused, their ServingStatus would change after their billing info is setup.

We'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Automate GetRefreshToken

2017-09-06 Thread Matt b
Sorry if my question is a bit novice.

I have a web app that uses the adwords API, our token expires and our app
breaks until i go back tot he oauth playground insert my scope a generate a
new refresh token.

How can i do this automatically, is it by using the getfreshtoken.php ?
this is a prompt in terminal where i have to actually enter the API Key and
secret. Do i have to keep doing this?

Retrospective data / total costs changing when running query vs. Google Ads dashboard - Google Ads V10

2022-06-13 Thread Matt Osborne
Hi,

I am having issues with results being returned from the Google Ads API (I
am currently using v10) appearing to change when running queries either for
different date ranges and/or running the same query on a different day.

For example, I could run the below query to get data for the 9th & 10th
May, but when I run the same query again for the past 60 days, the figures
being returned for the 10th May are different to my original results.

SELECT
ad_group.name,
campaign.name,
segments.date,
campaign.id,
ad_group.id,
segments.ad_network_type,
metrics.clicks,
metrics.cost_micros,
metrics.impressions
FROM ad_group
WHERE segments.date BETWEEN '2022-05-09' AND '2022-05-10'

Not only are the two API call results different for the 10th May activity,
the total cost in the Google Ads dashboard reports is different to the two
API results?

It is not every single day in the date range that is incorrect, there
appear to be individual days that seem to be changing in value in both what
the API returns as well in the Google Ads dashboard.

I have examples of the above behaviour with the results from the API,
screen grabs of the dashboard as well as the log files from the API calls,
so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Matt

Call to action is blank when pulling Ads data

2022-07-20 Thread Matt Dworkin
Hello,

I'm trying to pull a bunch of Ads data, and I have everything working with
the exception of the call_to_action_text. It always returns null, even
though it isn't null in the UI.

In my GAQL I'm using the following field:
`ad_group_ad.ad.discovery_multi_asset_ad.call_to_action_text`, and
selecting from ad_group_ad.

When I parse the row I'm using getCallToActionText() off of the
DisplayMultiAssetAdInfo object, as defined
here:
https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-php/blob/41382c1419a78d98821b67b52a5f47d615a131b2/src/Google/Ads/GoogleAds/V10/Common/DiscoveryMultiAssetAdInfo.php#L358

Is there something wrong with the way I'm selecting the field in the GAQL?
Is there another way to get this data?

Thanks for your help.

Best,
Matt

We're having the same problem. It's not even clear that we're mutating the

confused as to what's going on. If needed we can provide request ids via
logs. Thanks!

What application can API read

2017-10-02 Thread MATT COE
Hi,

I am completely new to this side of AdWords but want to look into
implementing the API to create dynamic display ads.

Essentially I want to capture data from a booking engine where each search
will be unique per user. I will want to capture the specific details to the
booking for the user if they do not complete the sale and then display this
on a re-marketing ad.

1. Is this possible?
2. If I capture the data what sort of system would I need to store it in?
3. Can I push this information immediately to AdWords via the API?

I have gone through all the tutorials on the API website and its the system
I need to create that has the data in that I am struggling to understand
what kind of application this needs to be.

I am starting blind in this and any information or links to websites that
can help me provide me with assistance would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Getting Account Payment Threshold and Balance Through Scripts

2018-04-12 Thread Matt Cassarino
Hey everyone,

I have a MCC script that runs each morning and goes through each of one of
my clients accounts and generates a report that is emailed to them.
Recently they asked that the accrued balance and payment threshold could be
added to the report, however I can't seem to figure out how to get this
information through the script. I've seen some posts from 2016 saying that
the only way to get this information was through the adwords UI. Is this
still the case? The information I am looking for is underlined in the image
below.

Thanks.

Google Ads API: Setting user list for adgroup criterion

2019-09-18 Thread Matt Fleming
Hi,

Hope this message finds you well.

I need some help applying user_list criteria to my ad_group. I keep getting
the error "AttributeError: Assignment not allowed to field "user_list" in
protocol message object."

def set_targeting(self, client, customer_id, ad_group_id, audience_id):
ad_group_service = client.get_service('AdGroupService', version='v2')
ad_group_criterion_service = client.get_service('AdGroupCriterionService',
version='v2')
ad_group_criterion_operations = client.get_type('AdGroupCriterionOperation',
version='v2')

ad_group_criterion = ad_group_criterion_operations.create
ad_group_criterion.ad_group.value = ad_group_service.ad_group_path(
customer_id, ad_group_id)
ad_group_criterion.type = client.get_type('CriterionTypeEnum', version='v2'
).USER_LIST
ad_group_criterion.user_list = audience_id

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

and filters. We are trying to provide a useful way for our users to get
back into the Ads UI but its not work and users are frustrated. I have also
posted a question to the Ads team to see if there is a way to determine
ocid. Might be easier for the api team to build something that matches the
specs of the ui for building links. Thoughts?

Internal Error from googleads-python-lib GoogleAdsService.search

2020-05-13 Thread Matt Von Bargen
Hi, we're receiving an "Internal Error" when trying to execute the "search"
method of "GoogleAdsService" using the googleads-python-lib. Below, I've
pasted the debug log produced by the lib: (please note that I've replaced
our customer_id with "ALSO-REDACTED".) Do you have any idea what the
problem is, or any way to get it fixed?

Thank you, and please let me know if you need any additional information
from me.

Data Mismatch Between Ad_group_ad and dynamic_search_ads_search_term_view

2022-06-21 Thread 'Matt Peyton' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Good morning,

I am seeing a discrepancy when I try to pull data
from dynamic_search_ads_search_term_view and ad_group_ad. The
dynamic..._view table is showing fewer impressions, clicks, and cost than
ad_group_ad filtering for EXPANDED_DYNAMIC_SEARCH_AD. Also, when I create a
report in the Ads UI, for expanded dynamic search ads, the numbers match
ad_group_ad. Any idea why EXPANDED_DYNAMIC_SEARCH_AD seems to be missing
some information?

*Ad_group_ad gaql query:*

SELECT
campaign.name,
metrics.impressions,
metrics.clicks,
metrics.cost_micros
FROM
ad_group_ad
WHERE
segments.date BETWEEN '2022-04-30' AND '2022-05-05'
AND ad_group_ad.ad.type = 'EXPANDED_DYNAMIC_SEARCH_AD'

*dynamic_search_ads_search_term_view gaql query:*

SELECT
campaign.name,
metrics.impressions,
metrics.clicks,
metrics.cost_micros
FROM
dynamic_search_ads_search_term_view
WHERE
segments.date BETWEEN '2022-04-30' AND '2022-05-05'"
