Hi,

+1 to Oliver. I'm getting an internal error for all requests to

Re: creating dynamic search ads campaign - errors = resource_not_found

2024-08-01 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hey Darshan,

Hope you're well! I've taken a look at the information you provided, and I
believe you're using the incorrect endpoint to create a page feed for your DSA.
I recommend taking a look at the "Dynamic Search Ads Page Feeds" guide, which
explains the steps for creating a page feed asset that you can reference in
your dynamic search ad setting. So rather than creating a customer feed using
the "/customers/.../feeds:mutate" endpoints, you'd create a feed asset using
the "/customers/.../assets:mutate" endpoint and populating the "pageFeedAsset"
field.

Hope this helps.

Wanted REST API Schema

2024-08-01 Thread 'Sergei Dorogin' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi.
The Google Ads API officially support REST endpoints
- https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/rest

I'm looking for schema of those REST API.
I wonder if anywhere the API REST schema available.
I know there's protobuf on github -
https://github.com/googleapis/googleapis/blob/master/google/ads/googleads/README.md
but I need to have types and resources definitions in my JS/TS code.
There's a 3rd-party library https://github.com/Opteo/google-ads-node with
what I need but it's barely supported.

Re: unable to find rest docs for performance max campaigns

2024-07-31 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

As per logs, I could see that you are getting
OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CONTEXT error while creating the performance max
campaign. In order to avoid the said error, kindly create appropriate bidding
strategies as for Pmax campaigns the only applicable bidding strategies are
'Maximize Conversions' and 'Maximize conversion values' and for Pmax campaigns
while creating the campaign budgets make sure that "explicitlyShared": false.
Also refer to the video for more information.

Kindly refer to the below sample request for creating Pmax campaign using
campaignOperation:

{
  "operations": [
{
  "create": {
"name": "A performance max campaign 1",
"campaignBudget":
"customers/{customerId}/campaignBudgets/{campaign_budget_id}",
"advertisingChannelType": "PERFORMANCE_MAX",
"maximizeConversions": {
  "targetCpaMicros": x
}
  }
}
  ]
}

I tried to create the Pmax campaign by my end and was able to get the results.
So, I would suggest you to try the above request from your end and let us know,
how this goes on your end.

RE: data from geo performance api different from the google ads interface

2024-07-30 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Christian,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Based on the information provided, I understand that while retrieving the data
from the geographic_view report you have observed discrepancies between the
information displayed in the Google Ads user interface and the data retrieved
through the Google Ads API. We would like to specify first the following when
comparing the value of the Google Ads UI and the Google Ads API.

The segments and fields of the API and UI should be the same.
The date range should also be the same.
Comparing the API and UI at the same level as possible.

With that, kindly provide us with the complete API logs (request and response
with request-id and request header) generated at your end and uncropped UI
screenshot of the Google Ads account (with visible customer ID) by highlighting
the fields and metrics for which you are trying to retrieve using the Google
Ads API.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would
request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are
using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to
enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging
via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct
private reply to this email.

2024-07-30 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

There is no specific day/time limit for the refresh token to expire in the
'published' status. I would like to inform you that you need to re-authenticate
through the whole process again to generate the valid refresh token.

Please note that we can only assist with technical queries/concerns related to

I would recommend you to reach out to the GCP Product support team for further

RE: how can i obtain 'ad asset status and reason?

2024-07-26 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

I would suggest you try the below query to retrieve the status of the asset
using the ad_group_ad_asset_view report. The AdGroupAdAssetView currently
supports AppAds and Responsive Search Ads.

SELECT asset.id, asset.name, asset.policy_summary.approval_status,
asset.policy_summary.review_status FROM ad_group_ad_asset_view

Additionally, you can utilize the Google Ads Query Builder and Query Validator
to build and validate the queries for retrieving the data.

If this is not what you are looking for, kindly share us with the uncropped
screenshot of the Google Ads account with visible customer ID by highlighting
the fields you would like to retrieve it via the Google Ads API.

Re: google ads api error - developer token is not allowed with project

2024-07-25 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

As informed already, each Google API Console project can be associated with the
developer token from only one manager account. So, once you reset the developer
token and make the API call with project PQRSTUVW, you will not be able to make
API calls to other project XYZABC anymore.

Hope this answers your query.If you have any more queries, please feel free to
get back to us.

RE: google ads api error - developer token is not allowed with project

2024-07-25 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Google Ads API support team.

I could see in the provided screenshot that the error message says "Developer
token is not allowed with the project". This means the developer token you are
using in your request is not associated with the project that you are using in
the same request.

Each Google API Console project can be associated with the developer token from
only one manager account. Once you make a Google Ads API request, the developer
token is permanently paired with that project. You can reset a developer token
and use it with the project PQRSTUVW, let us know how it goes.

I could see that you are facing a PERMISSION DENIED error, which means that the
user doesn't have permission to access a specific account. To assist you
further, please provide us with an email address used to make API requests and
complete API request and response logs with the request ID and request header
where you encountered an error.

RE: example with next page token using v17

2024-07-24 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Ramanajee,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Based on the information provided, I understand that you are looking for
guidance in using the next page token with v17 in C# in the Google Ads API. For
example, if your account contains 50,000 keywords and page_size is set to
1,000, the result set will contain 1,000 GoogleAdsRow objects in the first
response, along with a next_page_token. To retrieve the next one thousand rows,
send the request again with the same page size, but update the request's
page_token to the response's next_page_token. The value of page_size in
subsequent requests can be different each time. Note that next_page_token is
not populated in the response that contains the last batch of rows. You can
refer to the Paging Through Results documentation to know more about the
'next_page_token' usage in the Google Ads API. Also, I would suggest you to
refer to the C# example code for more information.

RE: fetching campaign target locations

2024-07-24 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

With regards to your concern, you can use the geographic_view report, and you
can pull fields from the campaign reports in the "attributed resources”.To
specifically answer your question, you can add campaign.name in the
geographic_view report.

To get all your targeted and excluded geographic locations per campaign, you
can refer to the following query:

SELECT campaign.id, campaign_criterion.location.geo_target_constant,
campaign_criterion.negative, campaign_criterion.type FROM campaign_criterion
WHERE campaign_criterion.type = 'LOCATION'. The negative criterion are the
excluded places.

To get metrics per targeted location per campaign, you can refer to the
following query:

SELECT metrics.clicks, metrics.cost_micros, metrics.conversions,
metrics.impressions, campaign_criterion.location.geo_target_constant,
campaign.id FROM location_view WHERE segments.date BETWEEN '20220101' AND
'20220310', you can change the date between in the 'WHERE' CLAUSE.

I hope it helps.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Google Ads API support team.

As per the API documentation, the .NET client library is hosted on GitHub and
is distributed as a NuGet package. You can download the .NET client library and
generate user credentials using Github code. You can also use NuGet package as
well, you can use any of these where Google Ads API supports both.

Hi Morten,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Based on the provided information, I understand that the keyword 'Hotels' was
not added to your account despite the API call being successful. Upon reviewing
the logs, I noticed that you attempted to add the keyword 'Hotels' as a
negative keyword, and I can confirm that it is already present in your account.
To verify this yourself, please navigate to your Google Ads account > then go
to Audiences, keywords and content > Search keywords > Negative search
keywords. Here, you will see the negative keywords 'Events' and 'Hotels'.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

I would suggest you refer to the document Automatic steps to get more
information on how to set campaign priority with the Google Ads API.

If you are still facing the issues, please share the complete API logs
(request, response, request-id and request header) generated on your device

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would
request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are

enable logging via the curl command by using the -i flag for REST interface
requests.

RE: the campaign id from changeevent new resource is 0

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Based on the information provided, I understand that you are not able to
retrieve the changes from your account using the change_event resource in the
Google Ads API. Upon checking your account (5359270827), I couldn't see any
changes made in your account using the Google Ads API or the Google Ads Web
Client and this is the reason you are not able to retrieve those changes from
the Google Ads API. Kindly note that using the change event event resource you
can retrieve only the changes made by the Google Ads API or the Google Ads Web
Client. If the changes are made by other tools it is not possible to retrieve
using the Google Ads API. I would recommend you to kindly refer to the 'Change
Event' documentation for more information.

Could you confirm if you are able to see any changes for those specific dates
in the Google Ads UI? If yes, I would request you to share the uncropped UI
screenshot of the Google Ads account (with visible customer ID) by highlighting
those changes for which you want to retrieve via the API.

RE: case id # 24000174 - how to create audiences for search campaigns using the api?

2024-07-19 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

An Audience is a reusable collection of focused segments, demographic
targeting, and exclusions. Audience targeting is supported for Performance Max
and Discovery campaigns. If you want to target audience segments directly in a
Display, Search, Video, Hotel or Standard Shopping campaign, navigate to
Audience segments.

Create and update an audience using the AudienceService. Each Audience must
have a unique name. Additionally, check out the Get started with audience
segments guide to get started on creating and targeting audience segments. I
hope this helps!

Discrepancy in Conversion Reporting with Enhanced Conversions

2024-07-18 Thread 'Nikita Klyuchnikov' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum

Hello Google Ads Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am experiencing an issue with
conversion tracking on my website and would appreciate your assistance in
resolving it.

Here is the situation:

   1.

   I have implemented two tags on my website to track conversions. Both
   tags are designed to record a conversion whenever a user completes a
   payment.
   - Both tags track standard conversions without hashed user emails.
  - The first tag includes an order_id.
  - The second tag does not include an order_id.
   2.

   For the tag that includes the order_id, I have also configured enhanced
   conversions for the web via the Google Ads API. This includes sending
   hashed user emails along with the conversion data.
   3.

   All configurations have been set up precisely according to the
   instructions provided, and there are no errors indicated in the diagnosis
   tools.

However, I am encountering an issue in the conversion reports:

   - The number of conversions reported is identical for both tags.
   - Based on my understanding, the conversions tracked with the user email
   (enhanced conversions) should be higher in number, as more conversions
   should be attributed to the ads due to the additional data provided.

Could you please help me understand why the number of conversions is the
same for both tags and why the enhanced conversions are not showing a
higher attribution?

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: gmail campaign

2024-07-18 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Kindly note that a specific Gmail campaign type is not available for the Google
Ads API. In order to know about the available campaign types, I would suggest
that you refer to the AdvertisingChannelType and campaign types. When creating
campaigns with Google Ads API, create the campaign budgets first.

If you are trying to create a campaign for Gmail using Google Ads account(UI),
I would recommend that you reach out to the Google Ads Product support team as
they are better equipped to address your concern. Please note that our team can
only assist with the technical queries/concerns related to the Google Ads API.

Default Negative Keywords on Smart Campaign

2024-07-17 Thread 'Andrew Wirtz' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

I am running into an issue where publishing a Smart Campaign creates a
large list of negative keyword campaign criterion automatically. NOTE: I'm
talking about keywords, NOT keyword themes. I am not setting any negative
keywords, yet they still appear when querying the campaign_criterion
endpoint.

*Query:*
SELECT
campaign.resource_name,
campaign_criterion.negative,
campaign_criterion.type,
campaign_criterion.keyword.text,
campaign_criterion.keyword.match_type,
campaign_criterion.display_name,
campaign_criterion.criterion_id
FROM
campaign_criterion
WHERE
campaign.resource_name = '{campaign_resource_name}'
AND
campaign_criterion.type = 'KEYWORD'

*Results (1 example from 1999 results) :*
{
"resourceName":
"customers/#/campaignCriteria/###~71078880",
"type": "KEYWORD",
"keyword": {
"matchType": "PHRASE",
"text": "backpack"
},
"criterionId": "71078880",
"negative": true,
"displayName": "backpack"
},

I'm really confused because these are Smart Campaigns, which don't even
allow keywords, they use keyword themes. I checked that the account doesn't
have any account negative keywords, nor any Content Suitability choices,
nor content exclusion lists.

I have tried manually removing these via the API with a
campaign_criterion_operation remove for the resource name, but that returns
an error:

{
  error_code {
context_error: OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CONTEXT
  }
  message: "The operation is not allowed for the given context."
  trigger {
string_value: "EXPRESS(EXPRESS_SMART)"
  }
  location {
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "mutate_operations"
  index: 0
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "campaign_criterion_operation"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "remove"
}
  }
}

I am worried that this is impacting our campaign's performance as we are
trying to target ads for school backpack donations but both "school"
and "backpack" show up in this negative keyword list. Please let me know if
these negative keywords are causing the campaign to underperform, and what
can be done about it.

Hi,

To assist you further, kindly provide us with the complete API logs (request
and response logs with request-id and request header) generated at your end.
This would help us investigate this issue further.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled logging yet, I would
request that you enable logging for the specific client library that you are
using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to
enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging
via the curl command by using the -i flag.

RE: how to update bidding strategy in campaign

2024-07-17 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

You can update the bidding strategy from target_cpa to maximize conversions
through the CampaignOperation.update, set the fields of the Campaign as
previously described. When updating bids, you only need to include the bids you
want to change. Google Ads will update those specific bids without changing,
adding, or removing any other bids.

RE: help needed to recreate google ads ui report using api with campaign and product data

2024-07-17 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Kindly note that the Shopping_performance_view_report table provides detailed
data on products and conversions for specific campaigns. It includes metrics
such as impressions, clicks, cost, and conversions, as well as product data.
You can use the following query:

SELECT campaign.id, campaign.name, metrics.conversions,
metrics.conversions_value, segments.product_brand, segments.product_item_id,
segments.product_title, segments.product_type_l1, segments.product_type_l2,
segments.product_type_l3 FROM shopping_performance_view WHERE campaign.id =
{campaign.id}

You can try making a request using the Search or SearchStream by passing the
customer Id. Also, you can use Query Builder to create your query and Query
Validator to validate your query. I hope this helps, let me know how this goes
on your end.

If this is not what you are looking for, kindly provide us the uncropped UI
screenshot of the Google Ads account and also highlight the fields and metrics
that you require to retrieve via the API.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct
private reply to this email.

RE: ad_group_ad_asset_view missing clicks, conversions for responsive search ads?

2024-07-16 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

Based on the provided information, I understand that you are experiencing an
issue where ad_group_ad_asset_view returns only impressions for responsive
search ads, while demand gen ads return all metrics. In order to assist your
issue further, kindly provide us with the complete API logs (request and
response with request-id and request header) generated at your end.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct
private reply to this email.

RE: error while filtering by `conversion_goal_campaign_config.goal_config_level`

2024-07-16 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

As per provided information, I understand that you are getting 'INTERNAL_ERROR'
while executing a GAQL request. Do note that the INTERNAL_ERROR occurs when
something unexpected happens while processing the request. The common cause
could be the API isn't functioning correctly. However, this is transient in
nature and the API request will work again when retrying it after 30 seconds or
some time. You may also retry any requests that failed with this error, using
an Exponential backoff schedule for the retries. Here is a code example
demonstrating how to implement an exponential back off strategy.

If the issue still persists, then provide us with the below information, so
that we can investigate this issue further.

Affected Customer Id
Date of this issue started
How much time did you wait before retry of a request
complete API logs (request and response with request-id and request header)
generated at your end.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would
request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are
using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to
enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging

Re: different responses from google ads endpoints

2024-07-15 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

I would like to inform few things related to your query:

Firstly, if you want to get the 86 clicks from the screenshot that you have
provided in our first conversation, I would recommend that you try the below
query via API.

Query : "SELECT campaign.id, campaign.name, ad_group.id, ad_group.name,
metrics.all_conversions,
metrics.all_conversions_value, metrics.clicks, metrics.conversions,
metrics.conversions_value,
metrics.cost_micros, metrics.cross_device_conversions, metrics.impressions,
metrics.video_views,
metrics.interaction_event_types, metrics.interactions,
metrics.view_through_conversions, segments.date
FROM ad_group WHERE segments.date BETWEEN '2024-06-05' and '2024-06-05' AND
metrics.clicks != '0'"

Later, you have mentioned 2 endpoints that return different total impression
totals. Here, I could see that you have compared ad_group(breakdown) and
campaign(non breakdown) resources. But then in next conversations, I noticed
that you have again compared with geographic_view and campaign resources.

I would recommend that you use the ad_group resource to get the same clicks as
in geographic_view. Let us know how it goes on your end.

Re: UploadOfflineConversion: How to send ConversionDateTime in click conversion

2024-07-11 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Please find the answers for your questions below:

1. Google Ads uses the Google Click Identifier (GCLID) to track clicks and
associate them with conversions. While Google Ads does not store the GCLID
itself in your account data, it uses the associated metadata, including
timestamps, to determine when the click occurred.

2. Google Ads records the exact timestamp when a click occurs. This timestamp
is in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). When you upload a conversion, you
provide a conversionDateTime. This value can be in any timezone, but it must be
formatted correctly and should ideally be in UTC for consistency. If you
provide a timezone offset, Google Ads will convert the conversionDateTime to
UTC before comparing it with the click timestamp. If your conversion timestamp
(2024-07-09 10:30:47+00:00) is correctly later than the click timestamp
(2024-07-09 09:57:47+00:00), then there should be no CONVERSION_PRECEDES_EVENT
error unless there was an issue with the timezone conversion or the recorded
click timestamp. I would recommend you to kindly refer to the
''conversion_date_time" guide for more detailed information.

In order to investigate your issue further, kindly provide us with the complete
API logs (request and response logs with request-id and request header)
generated at your end to better assist you further.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct
private reply to this email.

Re: not able to create custom conversion goals in google ads version 17 via rest api

2024-07-11 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

You can use the following query to check the link between the campaign "Zyper
Test Campaign with GOALS for Max conversion ROAS" and the conversion goal
through campaign_conversion_goal resource.

SELECT campaign_conversion_goal.campaign, campaign_conversion_goal.category,
campaign_conversion_goal.origin, campaign_conversion_goal.biddable,
campaign.id, campaign.name
FROM campaign_conversion_goal WHERE campaign.advertising_channel_type = 'SEARCH'

{
      "campaign": {
        "resourceName": "customers/3300782374/campaigns/21449025537",
        "name": "Zyper Test Campaign with GOALS for Max conversion ROAS",
        "id": "21449025537"
      },
      "campaignConversionGoal": {
        "resourceName":
"customers/3300782374/campaignConversionGoals/21449025537~SIGNUP~WEBSITE",
        "campaign": "customers/3300782374/campaigns/21449025537",
        "category": "SIGNUP",
        "origin": "WEBSITE"
      }
    },

You can try making a request using the Search or SearchStream by passing the
customer Id. Also, you can use Query Builder to create your query and Query
Validator to validate your query. I hope this helps, let me know how this goes
on your end.

SELECT customer_user_access.user_id, customer_user_access.email_address,
customer_user_access.access_role,
customer_user_access.access_creation_date_time,
customer_user_access.inviter_user_email_address FROM customer_user_access

I would suggest you refer to the Managing User Access document for more
details. Additionally, you can utilize the Google Ads Query Builder and Query

RE: acquiring developer token without active manager account

2024-07-08 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Ads API support team.

The developer token is like a license key and it is tied to a MCC account for
approval purposes but once approved, you can use it to make calls against any
Google Ads account within the organization. Please note that the developer
token appears only for Google Ads manager and you need to have a Google Ads
Manager account. I would suggest that you refer to the Obtain a developer token
for more information.
