Missing discovery campaign

2023-05-17 Thread kol...@exito.de
Hi all,

in one Ads account we've got four discovery campaigns, three older one
which are currently paused and a new one which started at the end of April
and already generated a lot of impressions, clicks and costs. The latter
one just doesn't keep showing up in a 'campaign' report (no filters set).

Are there any known issues with newly created (discovery) campaigns?

Thanks!

Missing campaign labels

2023-05-17 Thread kol...@exito.de
Hi all,

we've got the following problem: some campaigns have labels attached which
were created on the account level, on the MCC level (groups of accounts of
the same client) and on our top MCC level (our agency). In the Ads UI all
those labels can be seen to the corresponding campaign. However, when we
retrieve a 'campaign' report on the account level with the campaign_labels
columns, only those labels (resource names) show up which are account level
labels, i.e. the labels from the MCC level and from our top MCC level just
aren't listed in this column.

We can retrieve the labels from the MCC level and from our top MCC
level from the 'label' report, i.e. we get label.name and
label.resource_name but we can't get a connection between this label info
and the campaigns they are attached to. Is ist possible at the moment to
get this link via any Ads API report?

Thanks!

Re: Retrieving changed_fields causes 500 Internal Error

2021-03-24 Thread kol...@exito.de
Do you have any timeline when the bug will finally be fixed? We still get
many many 500 errors during the day.

TBH: This is quite annoying because the problem has been dragging on for
more than two weeks. As it's still not possible to retrieve older change
event data ("The requested start date is too old. It cannot be older than
30 days."), it means that a lot of historic change event data will be lost.
We run a daily script which builds up a change event database with data
older than 30 days. With all those 500 errors a lot of data will be lost
and cannot be recovered at a later point.

Thanks,

Thomas

We get also tons of 500 errors since we switched to API v6.1 We didn't
have any such problems with v6

It does not seem be restricted tochange_event.changed_fields
I just left this field out of a request and still get 500 errors.

The problem seems to be restricted to the AD level, so if you filter it out
then the API request works without problems (at least for our 200+ active
accounts):

  WHERE change_event.change_resource_type NOT IN ('AD')

Hey Googlers,

calls to the "change_event" report of the Ads API (v6) always fail when any
of these three fields is included in the API query ...

change_event.old_resource
change_event.new_resource
change_event.changed_fields

... and the changes made in the Ads account include changes to the second
headline of expanded text ads.

Re: How to convert Google-Ads API GoogleAdsRow to json?

2020-09-08 Thread kol...@exito.de
We are using the Python client library because we don't want to write all
the basic stuff.

In the meantime I found out how you can directly convert the API result to
a pandas dataframe in Python:

from pandas import json_normalize
from google.protobuf.json_format import MessageToJson
...

results_report = ga_service.search(account_id, query=query_report,
page_size=_DEFAULT_PAGE_SIZE)

list_all_rows = []

for row in results_report:
serialized_json = MessageToJson(row).replace('\n', '')
serialized_json_dict = json.loads(serialized_json)

df_row = json_normalize(serialized_json_dict)
list_all_rows.append(df_row)

if len(list_all_rows) == 0:
continue

df_all_rows = pd.concat(list_all_rows)

This works fine in Ads API v4 and v5. The same code works for 5 or 50
columns.
TBH: I can't understand why you don't provide such a compact transformation
from the API result to a dataframe in your library examples.

Who wants to retrieve every single field like this (taken from the
examples)? That's awkward and tedious ;-)

for row in results:
 ad_group = row.ad_group
 ad_group_criterion = row.ad_group_criterion
 keyword = row.ad_group_criterion.keyword
 ...
