Re: generatekeywordhistoricalmetrics -> historicalmetricsoptions 4 years data

2023-07-05 Thread Lex Bunnetat
Hi
thanks very much for the response.
sorry, can I just clarify, the HistoricalMetricsOptions only allows 12
months then, not 4 years as per the documentation?
I will take a look at the *forecast metrics*. but I do not think have
what we need.

The other question was about creating the HistoricalMetricsOptions in a
campaign using the API. Then being able to view the data in the UI. So I
understand that you cannot therefore speak to the 2nd part of this process,
but is it possible to create the campaign with the APi with 4 years using
the API, and then view it in the UI.
So far any campaigns we have created do not seem to be visible in the UI.

thanks again

RE: generatekeywordhistoricalmetrics -> historicalmetricsoptions 4 years data

2023-07-05 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to Google Ads API Support.

With regards to your first concern, based on our documentation
(https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/keyword-planning/generate-historical-metrics),
 the averages monthly searches is 12 months, and the approximate monthly search
volume is only per months. You can use historical metrics to reduce a large set
of keywords to a more manageable size based on the performance. However, if you
already know the keywords you want to use, you can skip historical metrics and
go straight to forecast metrics.

Moving forward to your second concern, for automatic keywords searches via
Google Ads API, you may refer to the Keyword Ideas documentation. Using the
KeywordPlanIdeaService, you can search for new keywords that are relevant to
your Google Search campaign, or find historical metrics on keywords.

However, if you want to create the keyword searches via the Google Ads UI, then
I recommend reaching out to the Google Ads Product Support Team for further
assistance. They can assist you more appropriately regarding these kinds of
inquiries. Since our team provides support to technical implementations via the
Google Ads API only. For this type of request in the future, please use this
link (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/support) to file your issue
directly.

GenerateKeywordHistoricalMetrics -> HistoricalMetricsOptions 4 years data

2023-07-05 Thread Lex Bunnetat
GenerateKeywordHistoricalMetrics only returns 12 months data, but the
documentation says up to 4 years. Is the documentation wrong?

I did find a post in 2020 to say that there was a feature request to
increase it to 4 years, and to look at the blog. But unfortunately I cannot
see how to access all the blogs since 2020 , ad only see the latest version.

if 4 years data is not possible with the api, is there a way to create the
keyword searches on the UI and view and download the data manually - ie do
some of the work automatically using the api, and some manually?

bug in Keyword Planning -> historicalMetricsOptions

2021-09-09 Thread Andrey Eblukov

Hello, seems I found a bug in the AdsAPI. If trying to set the month of
JANUARY in *KeywordPlanService.GenerateHistoricalMetrics* and
*KeywordPlanIdeaService.GenerateKeywordIdeass* in the format:
"year_month_range" => new YearMonthRange([
"start" => new YearMonth([
"year" => 2019,
"month" => Month::value("JANUARY")
]),
"end" => new YearMonth([
"year" => 2021,
"month" => Month::value("JUNE")
])
])

date range works, but you can't specify start with "JANUARY", for example:
"start" => new YearMonth([
"year" => 2019,
"month" => Month::value("JANUARY")

tried on all years (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), it doesn't work, returns an
error:
"message": "Internal error encountered.",
"code": 13,
"status": "INTERNAL",

At the same time, if you set the month "JANUARY" in 'year_month_range' ->
'end' - it works correctly.

Re: HistoricalMetricsOptions

2021-08-30 Thread Eric Shuman
Hi Alex,

The code in these examples from the Google API docs are what I used.
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/keyword-planning/generate-forecast-metrics
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/keyword-planning/generate-historical-metrics

Specifically the section "Generate the metrics" of their example for
generate-forecast-metrics. The main thing to note here is that you need to
change keyword_plan_service.generate_forecast_metrics to
keyword_plan_service.generate_historical_metrics

def main(client, customer_id, keyword_plan_id):
keyword_plan_service = client.get_service("KeywordPlanService")
resource_name = keyword_plan_service.keyword_plan_path(customer_id,
keyword_plan_id)

###
# INSERT YOUR metric_request.historical_metrics_options  HERE
###

metric_request = client.get_type("GenerateHistoricalMetricsRequest")
metric_request.keyword_plan=resource_name
metric_request.historical_metrics_options.year_month_range.start.year=
2019
metric_request.historical_metrics_options.year_month_range.start.month=
client.get_type("MonthOfYearEnum").MonthOfYear.JANUARY
metric_request.historical_metrics_options.year_month_range.end.year=2021
metric_request.historical_metrics_options.year_month_range.end.month=
client.get_type("MonthOfYearEnum").MonthOfYear.MAY

# response =* keyword_plan_service.generate_forecast_metrics*(
keyword_plan=resource_name) # THIS IS THEIR ORIGINAL REQUEST CODE
response =
 keyword_plan_service.generate_historical_metrics(metricrequest)

for i, result in enumerate(response.metrics) :
print(result.search_query)
   # DO SOME STUFF WITH THE RESULTS

RE: historicalMetricsOptions in KeywordIdeas doesn't work

2021-07-02 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi Vadim,

You can use the enum class MonthOfYear from our library, with the YearMonth and
YearMonthRange classes and use our library to send the request. I have no
visibility on your Month class.

historicalMetricsOptions in KeywordIdeas doesn't work

2021-06-30 Thread Vadim
Hello, I am trying set the date range for KeywordIdeas as stated in the
documentation (PHP)
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/rest/reference/rest/v8/HistoricalMetricsOptions:

$requestOptionalArgs['historicalMetricsOptions'] = new
HistoricalMetricsOptions([
'yearMonthRange' => new YearMonthRange([
'start' => new YearMonth([
"year" => 2020,
"month" => Month::JANUARY
]),
'end' => new YearMonth([
"year" => 2020,
"month" => Month::MAY
])
])
]);

it doesn't work, returns an error: "Invalid message property:
yearMonthRange".
Please tell me how to do it correctly.

RE: HistoricalMetricsOptions

2021-06-24 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor
Hi Brad,

Thank you for reaching out to us. In looking over the document that you shared
with us. As well as looking at Erics response. I would suggest looking at what
he mentioned for Python. Unsure what library you are using. But basically with
the way that JSON is setup you will need to go through each object and can set
it up. With the link that you have given it shows you the step thru the JSON
object and what needs to be setup at each location. When you look at what Eric
showed you that is exactly what he is doing.

Re: HistoricalMetricsOptions

2021-06-22 Thread Eric Shuman
Hey Brad,

I was able to set the HistoricalMetricsOptions like this (in Python):

keyword_plan_service = client.get_service("KeywordPlanService")
metric_request = client.get_type("GenerateHistoricalMetricsRequest")

resource_name =
 keyword_plan_service.keyword_plan_path(customer_id, keyword_plan_id)

metric_request.keyword_plan=resource_name
metric_request.historical_metrics_options.year_month_range.start.year=2019
metric_request.historical_metrics_options.year_month_range.start.month=
client.get_type("MonthOfYearEnum").MonthOfYear.JANUARY
metric_request.historical_metrics_options.year_month_range.end.year=2021
metric_request.historical_metrics_options.year_month_range.end.month=
client.get_type("MonthOfYearEnum").MonthOfYear.MAY

response =  keyword_plan_service.generate_historical_metrics(metric_request)
