keywords that you are facing issues with?

Also provide us the complete API logs (request and response with request-id and 
request header) generated at your end while generating keywords using 
KeywordPlanIdeaService.

If you are using a client library and haven't enabled the logging yet, I would 
request you to enable logging for the specific client library that you are 
using. You can refer to the guides Java, .Net, PHP, Python, Ruby or Perl to 
enable logging at your end. For REST interface requests, you can enable logging 
via the curl command by using the -i flag.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct

Hi,
Here is the UI spreadsheet required by you. Please have a look. I am 
getting data for the keyword from the google ads UI. (but in the response 
it was empty. This is just a small list but it happens with a lot of 
keywords. (around 1200 keyword out of 12000 keywords. (empty data)))

KeywordPlanIdeaService Historical data does not return data for keyword

Hello,
I am trying to get search volume for some keywords. I get data for most of 
the keyword. For 5-10% of the keyword I don't get any data. I am using 
python library using v15.

provide us with the updated complete API logs in .txt format (request and

the data that you are trying to fetch via the Google Ads API.

I think that with GenerateKeywordHistoricalMetrics, you can specify up to 
10,000 words at the same time as keywords in one request.(

)

Does this consume 1 operation? Or does it consume 10,000 operations?
And 1 QPS's Query means equal operation?
I need an answer for this as it is necessary for calculating when imposing

Error when I am using KeywordPlanIdeaService

I am using Google AdsAPI from Python.
When I make a request I get the following error

If you call it once after some time has passed, you will get a normal 
response in rare cases, but if you call it again, you will get an error.

several minutes.

I don't think I am calling enough to reach the request limit.

For your information, I am attaching the number of method calls within 24 
hours from now.
The only one we are calling is 
google.ads.googleads.v14.services.KeywordPlanIdeaService.GenerateKeywordHistoricalMetrics.

operations. The limits for daily API operations depend on the access level of 
the developer token. The Access Levels and Permissible Use Guide outlines the 
specific API operation limits for each access level. Requests that violate 
these limits are rejected with the error RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED. You may check the

Error when I am using KeywordPlanIdeaService

Hey , 

So particularly , we want to get the monthly average search volume for 
particular keyword and for that we are using google ads 
API's KeywordPlanIdeaService.

We are making a python script to get what we required , but at the end we 
are getting this particular issue.

ResourceExhausted: 429 Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota). 
[type_url: 
"type.googleapis.com/google.ads.googleads.v14.errors.GoogleAdsFailure"
value: "\n-\n\002X\002\022\'Too many requests. Retry in 30

I came across your question on the Google Ads API forum. You asked some 
intriguing and challengine question! Did you your "INVALID_CUSTOMER_ID" 
problem fixed? I bet you are constantly running into issues when developing 
with GAQL just like me when I first started 3.5 years ago. I am an 
ex-Google software engineer and I worked on Google Ads. I understand how 
painful it is to use the API and decided to quit Google and work on solving 
peoples' problem with GAQL full-time.

Different output between Google Ads Keyword Planner and Google Ads API KeywordPlanIdeaService

Hello,

Is there an argument in the KeywordPlanIdeaService similar to the "Use the 
entire site" in the Keywords Planner UI? The results I am getting 
from KeywordPlanIdeaService are similar to the Keywords Planner UI only if 
the "Use only this page" option is selected

I tried via Ads API v10. The response data is empty ONLY for the specific 
keywords (i.e. *amber*, *aaliyah*, *american flag*)
Also, tried the old Adwords API as well. Its response works fine.

Hope you are doing well!

I found there are some special keywords, (i.e. *amber*, *aaliyah*, *american 
flag*) can't get any response via the service of *KeywordPlanIdeaService*. 
However, you can get valid data via *Keyword Planner Tool.*
I'm wondering if there is some rules that don't mentioned in the doc?

The codes I tried are from the 
doc:

KeywordPlanIdeaService limit issue in Google Ads API

Hi Members,

We are using “KeywordPlanIdeaService” in our product to fetch search 
volume, CPC etc. for keywords. 

In AdWords API we were able to fetch this info for thousands of keywords.

But, now with Google Ads API, we are getting limit issue 1 request per 
second (QPS), 60/minute. This limit is too small to use Ads API to build a 
scalable product.

I need to know what Google’s future plan is so that we can plan our product 
accordingly.

Please guide.

KeywordPlanIdeaService

Hey,

I hope everything is going well with you! 

I have some concerns/doubts about the new KeywordPlanIdeaService. 
We are using right now the old TargetingIdeaService (with request_type 
STAT) to get search volumes information for every keyword (average search 
volume of last 12 months and also monthly search volume data for the past 
12 months). 

And in the Service mapping, it shows that the TargetingIdeaService is now 
called KeywordPlanIdeaService. 

My first question would be: Are there any other services which can be used 
considering my case? or do I have to use the KeywordPlanIdeaService?

If I do have to use the KeywordPlanIdeaService, I assume I will need to use 
the GenerateKeywordHistoricalMetrics function??
And to properly call this function do I need to create all objects of 
KeywordPlan

KeywordPlanIdeaService service

We're currently migrating from the TargetingIdeasService to the 
KeywordPlanIdeaService. We understand that the KeywordPlanIdeaService does 
not return the product category.

Is there any other endpoint/method we can use to find out which product 
categories the suggested keyword is assigned without adding it as an actual 
keyword. Previously we filtered out irrelevant keywords based on the 
product category but there is no longer a way of doing this and this is a 
big problem for us.

Hi!
Do you mean I should send you a request id manually by email?
If not, could you provide me with a code example in Python3 how to retrieve
it programmatically?

My application creates thousands of ad groups. Each keyword seed is a
separate ad group. That's why I have to request each keyword seed in a
separate request now. (I'd like to make one request with 20 keyword seeds).
I got Error "Host: googleads.googleapis.com, Method:
/google.ads.googleads.v9.services.KeywordPlanIdeaService/GenerateKeywordIdeas,
RequestId: fZPJNliYFeUjLvFK4odVWg, IsFault: True, FaultMessage: Resource
has been exhausted (e.g. check quota)."
That's why I want to match each keyword idea with it's keyword seed (not to
get all ideas seeds and ideas separately).

Hi!
I'm using

to get keywords ideas.
That example returns ideas texts, it's search volume and competitive level.
How to get my keyword which I provided as a seed(source)?

I provide 20 keyword seeds in one api request and I need to know which 
keyword seed match to particular keyword idea.

Hi Joy,

Thank you for reaching out. The max number of saved keyword plans is 1. 
It's possible to remove plans if the limit is reached. The max number of 
keyword plan keywords per plan is also 1. And each of these steps you 
mentioned would count as one operation thus you could consider updating your 
access level to Standard access via this form to have unlimited operations per 
day.

when generating the (historical) metrics.

You can opt to use the BatchJobService for creating keyword plans in bulk, 
since the KeywordPlanOperation is included in the list of supported mutate 
operations of this service.

I plan to have a script that iterates through ~20K keywords, grabbing their 
historical monthly volumes. Wouldn't it be unsustainable for me to create 
~20K keyword plans? Any other options here?

Thank you for the follow up questions. I work with Xiaoming and allow me to 
assist you for now.

The KeywordPlanService should mirror more what is being returned in the Keyword 
Planner than what is being returned by the TargetingIdeaService. That being 
said, could you confirm if your generate keywords ideas results have 
significant discrepancies when compared to the UI's Keyword Planner?

If there are discrepancies, could you share the complete request and response 
logs, with the request-id, and the complete Keyword Planner screenshot? You may 
send these details via the Reply privately to author option.

As for your other question "Does generating historical metrics also change the 
response of "KeywordPlanIdeaService.GenerateKeywordIdeas"?", generating 
historical metrics should not affect the results of your generate keyword ideas 
requests.

Generating historical metrics would require a keyword plan as outlined in the 
steps here. For historical metrics, the forecast_period is the field that would 
not be needed. I hope this helps.

Not only the original seed keywords, but almost all the keywords returned 
by the TargetingIdeaService API are no longer returned.

I would like to know how to find out the cause and solve the problem.

1. request parameters are missing or wrong.
2. need to call another API
3. other

Was wondering if it was possible to get historical search volume by month 
for each keyword idea in KeywordPlanIdeaService rather than the average 
monthly searches. Pretty much what TARGETED_MONTHLY_SEARCHES produces in

Which location ID(s) to use for KeywordPlanIdeaService for the US

Hi there,

Is there a way to provide a single location ID for all of the US to use as 
a parameter for KeywordPlanIdeaService? I want to be able to compare the 
average monthly search volume between the API and the Keyword Planner UI, 
but the list of locations in the geotargets file seems to be at a much more 
granular level, do I need to append all the different IDs that apply to the 
US? That would seem highly inefficient.

Wondering what parameters I could use to make it comparable to the default 
values in Keyword Planner (location = 'US', language = 'English')

words but they refer to the same meaning and the historical metrics are the 
same. The returned keyword text that has the metrics would be the one that is 
more commonly used.

KeywordPlanIdeaService response "text" does not match the give keyword

Hi.
Give keyword with KeywordPlanIdeaService to get searchvolume and 
competition.
There is a case where response "text" does not match the give 
keyword.(Giving a one word is divided into multiple words.)
Why not match?

ex.
Give keyword:スポーツクラブ(Sportsclub)
Response text:スポーツ クラブ(Sports club)

Apologies but I cannot seem to reply privately, it says I do not have 
permission?

I set up Firefox and Chrome to use Gmail for mailto links but the option to 
reply to author is still greyed out for me with the same error. Is there an 
email address you could send me privately so I can reply back with the 
relevant logs?

Including the Keyword Seed when using the KeywordPlanIdeaService

Hi

I have a python script that will take a list of seed keywords and query the 
Targeting Idea Service API to generate a list of related keywords with 
their competition metrics.

If I pass multiple keywords as a list of Keyword Seeds, I will get 
competition metrics for those keywords, but there is no apparent way to 
tell which KW generated the seed. Obviously if I pass one keyword into the 
seed and query using that, I can tell where the suggestion came from but 
this feature seems absent if I query multiple KWs.

The TargetingIdeaService in AdWords API uses a different back end server than 
the UI to generate keyword ideas. Google Ads API results should be closer to 
what you see in the UI. If you want me to take a closer look, please reply

Refine keyword queries with TargetingIdeaService or KeywordPlanIdeaService

Hi,

I'm testing Adwords API and Google Ads API to generate keyword Ideas, but I 
face the same problem with both.

If I run a query with a single keyword "sachets español" the KeywordPlanner 
website only returns 2 results. But if I make the same query via both API I 
got 256 results. I set the same location, language, network and adult 
filters on API and website.

I think the API uses BROAD match type returning more results. I tried to 
wrap the keyword with quotes and then the results returned are 166 but 
still a lot more than the website.

Is there any way to get same results from the API and the website?
