Thanks for replying, but that answer it's not helpful at all. I've already read that text (I even linked it in my question), but I explained very specific questions about it (that you haven't addressed at all). My app doesn't even have columns (it doesn't show traditional reports with columns), so things like "must display all the columns marked required ... " doesn't make any sense in my use case. Please read again my first message and try to address my specific questions/concerns. Or tell me who I should email for this specific questions. Requirements for app (Required Minimum Functionality)
A year ago I created an "app" based on Google Ads API that I use to detect errors and opportunities in the ad campaigns that I manage (things like "show an alert if a campaign has spent +$1000 and delivered 0 conversions"). I've been using it only internally (just myself), but I'm considering opening it to other users (third parties). I've been reading the requirements or RMF (https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/rmf?hl=en) and I guess my app would be considered Reporting only (it doesn't create or change campaigns, it just analyzes some data). Apparently Reporting apps are required to show some mandatory metrics and columns. But my app doesn't really show reports or columns. It just shows alerts when it detects an opportunity to improve (usually only shows some text explaining the opportunity, no reports at all). So I want to know what exactly I should provide or change if I want to start offering this app to other users. Do I have to add some reports and columns just to comply with RMF, even if the app is not designed to provide those and users are not interested in receiving that info from my app? Required Minimum Functionality
I'm trying to setup integration between an order processing system written in C#/ASP.NET and my AdWords account. Specifically, I need to upload Conversions data to my Adwords account. I've seen the import tool in the AdWords application but I need the process to be automated. I found the AdWords API and it looks like the offlineConversionFeedService would work perfectly. However, it also looks like I need a developers token to make it work and to get the token, I have to implement the Required Minimum Functionality. So my questions are: Do I really have to implement the RMF if the API is only used for internal integration? If so, does the .NET example project implement the RMF? Can I just use that? How would I expose the RMF if the API is only called from a service? Our App uses Creation Functionality, for example *C.190 Create AdGroup*. Update: I contacted the API token team directly about this. They didn't provide too many details in their response, but it appears to be a case-by-case thing now. Although the term "internal-only" has disappeared from the RMF document, it's still a consideration in determining RMF compliance. Required Minimum Functionality question.
I'm a little confused by the required minimum functionality section so please tell me if I have this correct. If I plan on using the tool for my business only it's an internal tool and it doesn't need to provide all of the min functionality features but if one client can use any part of my product that uses that API I have to implement all of the required features outlined? Currently my tool is focused just on bid optimizations and very little campaign/ad group functionality is built but I want to allow potential clients access to this bid tool. Hi David, thanks for looking into this issue. I looked into RMF page again and the links are all to the v201101 API. Since this is impossible to overlook for someone like you I investigated further and found the solution: Google is always redirecting me to the German page (what I don't want actually, very annoying), and here the links are still the old ones, not updated like in the English page of the RMF. Ok, this (at least for the original RMF in English which can be hard to find) answers my question about v201109 API compliance. I wouldn't mind having the RMF in English only - but I guess if you automatically redirect readers to a national page it's only fair to ask to update the content in a very timely manner (same with the v201109 API documentation, those redirects went to the old API instead and were extremely annoying when I was working on the update - especially since the German translation of the v201109 API docs (which I didn't really need) took very long to appear). Question about the Required Minimum Functionality
We plan to create a tool to help advertisers manage their accounts, and make the tool available publicly. We've been going through the RMF as described here: http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/requirements.html It seems to us that only these users are exempt from implementing the RMF: - End advertisers. - Internal use within agency. in other words, commercially available tools (that are not purely reporting tools) should implement all the RMF. However, I can think of at least two existing commercial tools that do bid management and yet they don't implement much of the RMF. Required Minimum Functionality for setting ad params
Hi, I have been reading the RMF info, as soon I will want to submit my app for approval. It simply reads campaigns, then ad groups, then criterion and then sets ad params according to my current pricing. Is there a minimum functionality requirement for this? I don't do any creation (bar the params), management or reporting. HI Ive just joined so please excuse any naivity on my part Im a bit worried about some of the API Terms and Conditions... ...and the Required Minimum Functionality for (Third Party Clients) http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/requirements.html Basically - i run some of my own sites and i just want to make the creation and deletion of some of the AdWords Ad Groups, Ads, and Keywords a little more Automated - i dont want to create a whole app designed for multiple clients etc - i just want something small and specific for my own purposes However - in Required Minimum Functionality (url above) it states an app has to have a certain amount of required functionality. and it is enormous - am i ok to just stick to using functionality i want for myself - i dont want to sell the service on to anyone or have functionalaity for anyone but me and my own sites Plus im a little concerned about the Inspection part of the T&Cond's - being a small enterprise i cant afford to pay an Inspector some exorbitant fee if he finds a minor problem with my use of the API, because i may not have fully understood the complicated T&Cond's Can anyone quell my fears - and perhaps give me any pointers to what i need to look out for/ many thanks in advance djax -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "AdWords API Forum" group. Hi Eric, Actually, we are looking for a business information, not a legal information. Do Google want us to integrate features also if we don't need them for our product and if we are not an Adwords Client ? It this API only dedicated to develop Adwords Client that would replace completely Google Adwords interface ? I believe this point has really to be clearer. AdWords API Required Minimum Functionality for SEMO clients
Hi I would like to know if the RMF listed in http://code.google.com/intl/fr/apis/adwords/docs/requirements.html are also required for SEMO clients (think 'Marin Software' , 'Kenshoo', etc). I do not see the need to include in our software a way to 'pause a keyword' for instance as we will let our users use the official AdWords UI to do so. Our software will provide various automated optimizations and for me it should not be seen as a regular '3rd party client' regarding the http://code.google.com/intl/fr/apis/adwords/docs/terms.html .
