2020-03-16 Thread Bill Prince
We just got an order from the county health department. It is a
bay-area-wide order affecting all 9 counties. They are essentially
ordering a shelter in place exempting "essential services". The list of
essential services is quite long. It includes getting groceries, medical
supplies, medical services, and on and on. Restaurants and
bars/taverns/wineries are considered non-essential, but restaurants are
allowed to serve take-out only. Non-compliance is enforced by fine
and/or jail time.

For us (Reno) that means the casinos must shut down too, which is

generally on the elteks if you do not enable the charge limit and you get a

Now the hoarding will really start.

Illinois just closed all restaurants and Bars until March 30. People are going

Drive-through and Curbside Pickup can still operate.

So Can I still go grab my Little Caesars pizza since there's no dining area?
What about the Subway in the Gas Station

Too much charge current perhaps. You could try lowering it. The
controller should have a way to limit current. If there isn't a current
monitor on the battery leg set the controller's current limit to your
normal load + whatever the battery datasheet says the maximum charge
current should be. Of course then you will have to make sure to adjust
this if you add/remove equipment.

I had some of the super cheap 100ah batteries sound like they were boiling
when I plugged in the charger. The ink right on them said whatever voltage
to apply to (if floating, there's another voltage for cycles) so I have to
assume it's right.

I don't believe they've even left float voltage in the last year, so all I
can say is that they're still sitting there.
