yeah they sent several emails:

FEMA is distributing cloth face coverings / PPE for critical infrastructure
workers as part of a multi-prong approach to re-open American economic
activity, while continuing to limit the spread of COVID-19. To accomplish
this, FEMA is asking for a spreadsheet from WISPA of contact info for U.S.
(only) companies that would like to gain access to the PPE.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT US TO SHARE YOUR CONTACT INFO WITH FEMA, WE ARE ASKING
YOU TO SEND YOUR OPT-OUT REQUEST TO p...@wispa.org WITH THE SUBJECT LINE,
“OPT-OUT OF FEMA PPE,” NO LATER THAN APRIL 30TH AT 11:59PM.

For those members who have not opted-out, we are asking key contacts /

We apologize for the short turnaround here, and thank you for your

Cambium is amazing, a tiny no account WISP in central Illinois
reached out to the degenerates at afmug one night, and Scott Imhoff reaches
back the next day. Next thing you know we are keeping continuity for
under-served student families. I got to deal with all kinds of cambium folks.
they showed me how to use the products more efficiently, Theyre really a solid
company, and im no vendor fanboy.

The cool thing is we opened this up across our territory to all the
school districts. other than PMP load, it will not have a huge amount of
impact, since it egresses the school network and flows opposite our normal
back-haul traffic in most cases. We are looking to expand this to a permanent
program.

We did find out the rural homework gap, in our area at least is not
huge, one of the districts had already achieved 100 percent access, I cant stop
talking them up in our community for that.

We got 6 names today, 2 were good for sure, one shows good, but is
in a pot i normally wouldnt have considered, 2 are unservicable, but we will
drive by and verify and one is in range of one of the school Wifi hotspots.

I could go on and on

how many candybars did you lose to "mice" in your warehouse? did you have
to keep them in a safe so staff, er "mice" wouldnt eat them all?
Forrest has good popcorn, i bet it gets a good 95-97% pop rate, but he
needs to send out the screwdrivers, all mine have been stolen.

All while working through bankruptcy and wildly overstating coverage to block

Re: [AFMUG] M-TOW Question

2020-05-01 Thread Josh Luthman
MTOW works on like 99% of grain legs/angle iron/etc. I've found one in
total that it didn't fit - something like 6" wide angle iron on a 130'
grain leg.

I don't know if I've seen an MTOW that's a different size (unless it's a
different model entirely).

Re: [AFMUG] OT: some good news!

2020-05-01 Thread Steven Kenney
Wow.. cool. While I like the whole blockchain concept, its decentralized and an
uncontrolled medium there still is one overwhelming problem. The key. Not to
mention as much as we think it won't be cracked, it will be. Eventually
technology will catch up with processing fast enough to crack it. Quantum
computers, heck even dna based computers can start to make their appearance in
society making the currency unsafe to use. Bitcoin is only as strong as the
mysterious person who has the original key ( Satoshi Nakamoto ) (Who the NSA
has admitted they've identified via online signature or may even have been
NSA!). Whoever has that key can decrypt anything.

Therefore while having blockchain part of a cloud storage is really cool. It
ultimately will not be as secure as you think. Its more secure than what is out
there already! But I'm still hoping they develop some new form of blockchain
that is a bit more evolved.

If you are skeptical of 'cryptocurrencies' ( like I am ) but find blockchain
technology very compelling ( like I do ), then you might find this interesting.
No I don't work for the company. Yes I own some of their 'coin'. (which is more
like a utility token and not much like a currency)

Siacoin is not a cryptocurrency in the pop-culture-get-rich-quick sense, but
all blockchains have a token. If you want to buy storage space on their cloud
storage system, you need siacoins, the Sia token.

Many questions have been asked and answered. Over and over.

This is a functioning 'crypto' -coin with a real use case and will never be
squashed by any govt because it does not compete with any govt.
Very impressed with this gang of developers.

We can go back to COVID-19 is gonna kill us all.
