Lesson learned I had reached out to one of the local cell phone stores. Stopped in for follow up. Waited for about 45 minutes while the clerk finished a transaction/activation. finally get to talk to the clerk, described the situation, got retail pricing on the hotspot and rates. She proceeds to tell me that the manager had just left prior to my arrival to the ER, she had come in after having a fever for days and this was the first day it was under 100 but got sicker at the store. Really, during the end of the world, she shows up to a public location with plague symptoms? Get a local cellphone carrier to donate hotspots with unlimited data for a month? Then distribute them where needed. [AFMUG] School only wifi hotspots
Our state closed all schools I don't know a ton about the elearning for grade school and high school. But is like to talk the boss into dropping wifi hotspots where we can for public access. I just don't want it abused. Our school districts here are having students come in monday for elearning instructions... not parents. So a bunch of kids will be relaying how tos. It will be a disaster. A lot of kids don't have internet. Library's will probably be closed or parents won't want their kids at the disease keyboards and chairs. I assume there will be some unregulated funding that will get abused and not actually get anything accomplished.
