Another thought is the new 5009 UPr, these you can put a rackmount kit with
them, and install 4 of them in one U of space and will have 8 POE out, but they
are not dual voltage, but they are a great router I foresee these being
installed at tower sites once they become mainstream.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a solid PoE switch to use at a tower
site? It would be nice if it had dual voltage options as well.

We were using planet switches but found they have some limitations we don’t
like and they don’t really update their firmware unless it’s a security
issue.

We’ve been deploying mikrotik switches lately with good success.

Our preferred solution is:
Switch of your choice + Packetflux Rack injector

With the rack injector you can power pretty much anything. And with the switch
of your choice you have unlimited options from dumb switch to layer3 or even
full blown router

Thanks.

I guess my title was somewhat misleading, I'm looking for a switch for use
at a tower site, but preferably rack-mount. I'll look more at the mikrotik
options.
