Re: [AFMUG] MT reboot
Try upgrade to v6.12 which is the latest stable version for x86 I have had issues with a 951 doing random reboots because of failed hdd writes. We have already replaced the entire hardware with brand new (including power supply). The issue is the MT box will just randomly reboot with no error messages or warning, with uptimes ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. The entire problem started when we purchased a Zmodo NVR (it's a security camera DVR system that uses PoE cameras, running Linux) and plugged it into the Cisco switch that then connects to the MT. This is a very basic setup. Internet connection on ether1, inside NAT'd connections on ether2. Anyone ever seen anything like this? Any ideas? Torch doesn't show anything strange. Travis
Re: [AFMUG] wind speed cut off for climbing
One of our policies is a customers internet is not worth a life. Weather doesn't stay crappy 24/7/365 even though it feels like it this time of year. It is judgement call and we always put safety over a customers internet no questions. Risk a lot to save a lot / Risk a little to save a little However I am the only tower climber and if I am dead / injured their outage is going to be a lot longer than a storm. I think that packetflux has an ePMP block the runs off of DC http://store.packetflux.com/gigabit-syncinjector-for-24-volt-cambium-radios/ Sincerely, Jason Pond On Thu, Nov 13, 2014 at 4:05 PM, Josh Luthman via Af af@afmug.com wrote: What are my options besides stacking a bunch of the included POEs? Re: [AFMUG] Field Paperwork
So the going paperless is way easier than you think. Buy a signature pad like a Topaz Sig Lite (usb) send with installer. Your contract is probably already in PDF form. Create Information boxes and add a signature field. This can be done with Acrobat reader I think. They save on the computer have installer download or e-mail them in at the end of the day. The installer can even e-mail a copy to the customer right there while they are still onsite. (two things good about that. You know you have the right e-mail address and the installer knows that the internet is working). If the customer wants a signed copy they can have one e-mailed to them at the end of the day after the installer gets back to the office. No matter what you do an in-vehicle printer will be problematic forever they were not designed for that environment. (cheaper in the long run to go paperless sooner than later)... For those of you still using paper in the field for your technicians to have customers sign, do you use printers in the vehicles? If yes to that question, which printer do you recommend? We use a basic HP Deskjet scanner/copier/printer, so the client can sign the paperwork and then we can make a copy for them in the field. However, they are not very durable to the every day use of our field techs. I’ve even had them brought in because they are jammed and we find things like a mustard packet inside them. Now, the obvious go paperless argument is null at this point as we are putting a plan in place to get there someday, but until then, what would you all recommend for paperwork printing in the field? Re: [AFMUG] UBNT airview won't run
This is with the latest Java update just happened to me about 10 minutes ago. You have to add the IP to the exception list as http://x.x.x.x then click OK go to Configure Java in search under start menu. Then click the security tab and add exception. It is a real pain. In the past, it appears that the solution to this problem was to drop Java security to medium. Oracle appears to have removed that option in recent versions. Now you can only select High or Very High. However, you're supposed to be able to accomplish the same thing by putting the URL into the exception list. I've done that, but to no avail. I've also tried it on a PC running Java 7 with the same results. Does anyone have a solution to this? Craig
Re: [AFMUG] Gpon or 10g-pon sfp...when?
Forrest, Actually the new PON's designs are doing CWDN over PON which is essentially AE just over individual waves to each sub vs. single fiber to each sub.
