With the demise of AIM, and not being on any social media sites, what's
available for Instant messaging apps these days? Basically so I can send the

Yeah, they've been talking about it on the forums for a week or so. Pretty
happy about that myself as well. They no longer support windows directly
though. You'll need to install the package on a CCR or x86 router or run a
virtualbox with CHR...

This version is just a bug fix for the last beta. Can't wait to see what
new features are in the works.

Re: [AFMUG] The Dude Still Useful [In addition to other monitoring]?

2015-10-26 Thread Joshua Stump
I’ve not found anything that works as well as The Dude goes for mapping… I
really like being able to see links w/ throughput at a glance. It does look
like OpenNMS does maps, but judging by the demo, it feels more clunky and
performs worse than Dude. Currently we’re using PRTG for monitoring and Dude
for map.

I'd suggest running the v4 beta on a VM and backup with snapshots. You can
still do the network map, that's the only reason I have it around.

OpenNMS is a good option, but I don't think there's a map.

 Hi guys
I am having bit of an issue getting /29 to work in routerboard. What I am
looking to do is put 172.16.2.x/29 on ether2 but I already have
 172.16.2.1/24on ether1. So I don't know what I am missing here.

[AFMUG] Inventory

2015-08-12 Thread Joshua Stump
Curious what y'all are using for tracking inventory in your shops/trucks?

We looked at using Powercode for this, but the inventory system seems to be
just about worthless for anything besides CPEs...

I'd recommend checking out Silicon Valley on HBO (from Mike Judge) too...

Marginally entertaining if you have ever been part of a high tech startup
(which almost everyone here has been).
