I'm an ingress player, which is the predecessor to this game. Over the 3 year life of ingress, the game was downloaded 10million times.With beta plus the brief time since release pokemon go is already up to 5 million. Totally insane. I had no idea pokemon was so popular. I was also an Ingress player and people made fun of me. Now all those people are out staring at their phones in packs. Was cool to see all my pictures/portals I submitted are Pokestops. I won’t be playing but cool to see the name changes and suddenly people want it bad. Marketing is huge and goes to show what a name brings.
