I've got 4 on a laptop, 8 on two desktops, 8 on a laptop and 32 on a desktop.
Runs great. The laptop with 4 is just used for putting things onto my TV.

Single best upgrade to any system is increasing RAM to as much as you can. My
Win10 machines have between 8 and 12 GB. Depending on what you typically do,
either would be adequate. I surely wouldn't go below 8 GB. I find ~~ 6GB is a
typical commit level.

Every Windows 10 install I have is quite snappy. I'd suspect something with the

It only hibernates when unplugged or if you close the lid while powered on.
Still a major pain to wait that long. It actually boots from off faster
than coming out of hibernation.

I used to do that until SSDs. The IOPs on rotation was too high for
indexing and would impact performance. It doesn't impact things nearly as

Single best upgrade to any system is increasing RAM to as much as you can. My
Win10 machines have between 8 and 12 GB. Depending on what you typically do,
either would be adequate. I surely wouldn't go below 8 GB. I find ~~ 6GB is a
typical commit level.

an upgrade is problematic, I wish on my primary laptop i had just done a
clean 10 install, but too many legacy apps i dont even know where to get
installers for. Mine does the 100% disk usage, and forticlient doesnt play
well. But its like 6 years old, very beat up i7 with 6gb ram and it still
runs pretty well for the abuse i put it through both in physical damage (on
my third keyboard) and the volume of applications i run on it, not to
mention multiple chrome instances with tons of open tabs

The WIndows10 update from last Tuesday (Dec, 6) broke some wifi
devices. I had people calling in over the weekend with that issue.
http://www.infoworld.com/article/3148845/microsoft-windows/windows-10-anniversary-update-bug-drops-wi-fi-connections.html

They had to manually run ipconfig /renew to get online, as they were
connecting to the WIFI, but not requesting an IP address.

The problem I’m having is that periodically processes will start
stalling, first thing to go is network connectivity, and then a
shutdown or restart requires using the power button. Mostly happens
when using WiFi on battery. I suspect it’s a driver, hardware or
application problem though, not Windows 10. I’ve applied all the BIOS
and driver updates from Dell though.

Mine is very quick, even a cold bootup is something like 10 seconds, so your
problem seems strange. I have a fairly new i7 laptop, but still, 3 minutes to
come out of hibernation isn’t normal.

The problem I’m having is that periodically processes will start stalling,
first thing to go is network connectivity, and then a shutdown or restart
requires using the power button. Mostly happens when using WiFi on battery. I
suspect it’s a driver, hardware or application problem though, not Windows 10.
I’ve applied all the BIOS and driver updates from Dell though.

Single best upgrade to any system is increasing RAM to as much as you
can. My Win10 machines have between 8 and 12 GB. Depending on what you
typically do, either would be adequate. I surely wouldn't go below 8 GB.
I find ~~ 6GB is a typical commit level.
