Gratuitous arguments: Agora does not have infinitely many players, nor is it reasonable to believe that it could have infinitely many players without a change to the rules. If other people are doing the same thing as you, then they're making the same conditional, and at some point the conditional will talk about an event that can't possibly occur (someone else voting) and thus fail to evaluate. I think that makes the whole thing collapse. -- ais523
Re: BUS: [Promotor] Distribution of Proposals 8054-8057
I CFJ: My conditional vote in the appended message evaluates to FOR each proposal. Caller's arguments: while this contains a conditional referring a hypothetical future situation, that situation is not indeterminate, as I specified "in the next instant, before any other process regulated by the ruleset of Agora takes place", meaning it can be unambiguously logically derived from the present situation (that is, the present situation - my first message and the withdrawal + my second message = the hypothetical future situation). ~Corona On Sat, Jun 23, 2018 at 6:35 PM, Corona wrote: > I withdraw my vote on these proposals. > > I vote on these proposals in such a manner that, in a hypothetical > alternate gamestate identical to the current one except for me never > sending the message immediately before this one, and this message not > containing the withdrawal of my earlier vote, in case that in the next > instant, before any other process regulated by the ruleset of Agora takes > place, a player would respond to this thread with the message "I do the > same as the last six people in this thread", their vote on all of these > proposals would evaluate to FOR all of the aforementioned proposals. > > (oops, I killed the joke, if any existed in the first place) > > > ~Corona > > On Sat, Jun 23, 2018 at 6:03 PM, Corona > wrote: > >> I vote on these proposals in such a manner that, in case that in the next >> instant, before any other process regulated by the ruleset of Agora takes >> place, a player will respond to this thread with the message "I do the >> same as the last six people in this thread", their vote on all of these >> proposals will be valid. >> >> ~Corona >> >> On Sat, Jun 23, 2018 at 5:17 PM, Reuben Staley >> wrote: >> >>> I do the same as the last four people in this thread. >>> >>> On Sat, Jun 23, 2018, 09:09 ATMunn wrote: >>> >>> > I do the same as the last three people in this thread. >>> > >>> > On 6/23/2018 6:14 AM, Timon Walshe-Grey wrote: >>> > > I also vote FOR proposals 8053-8057. >>> > > >>> > > -twg >>> > > >>> > > >>> > > ‐‐‐ Original Message ‐‐‐ >>> > > >>> > > On June 23, 2018 8:41 AM, Ned Strange >>> wrote: >>> > > >>> > >> >>> > >> >>> > >> I vote FOR each listed proposal >>> > >> >>> > >> On Sat, Jun 23, 2018 at 4:04 PM, Aris Merchant >>> > >> >>> > >> thoughtsoflifeandligh...@gmail.com wrote: >>> > >> >>> > >>> I vote as follows: >>> > >>> >>> > ID Author(s) AI Title Pender >>> > >>> > >>> > 8053* G., Aris 1.0 patch patch patch G. Re: BUS: [Promotor] Distribution of Proposals 8054-8057
I withdraw my vote on these proposals. I vote on these proposals in such a manner that, in a hypothetical alternate gamestate identical to the current one except for me never sending the message immediately before this one, and this message not containing the withdrawal of my earlier vote, in case that in the next instant, before any other process regulated by the ruleset of Agora takes place, a player would respond to this thread with the message "I do the same as the last six people in this thread", their vote on all of these proposals would evaluate to FOR all of the aforementioned proposals. Re: BUS: Contract Competition: It's a subgame boiz!!!!!!
Oops, forgot to mention: I become a party to the contract "Contract Competition Contract". It doesn't specify what counts as a "contribution", so I figure it doesn't matter that I haven't actually created a contract. I expect there's some technicality that will render it ineffective anyway, but I figure there's no harm in signing up regardless. -twg ‐‐‐ Original Message ‐‐‐ On June 12, 2018 1:39 AM, Ned Strange wrote: > > > Right this is my one attempt to revitalize the institution of Contracts. > > I create the following Contract (spending a coin) > > Title: Contract Competition Contract > > Text: > > Anyone may become a Party to this Contract by announcement. > > Parties to this Contract SHOULD join, create and interact with a > > variety of Contracts over the next 10 days. > > V.J.
